A review I didn't want to write but its important that others know my experience with my VW warranty and Kelly VW in Danvers MA. I own a business and really do appreciate when my customers with an issue, come to me first. It gives me a chance to correct the problem and if handled correctly, earn a customers future business for a long time to come. I come from a background of having owned new Jettas, Passat's, a certified used CC, used Jetta and a certified pre-owned Audi S5. It is safe to say that I have loved the German brands and their build quality. However, what I have just discovered is that VW (and Kelly VW as their agent in my recent purchase) in my opinion, do not stand behind their warranty. On the last day or two of 2022, I purchased a 2023 VW ID.4. The purchase experience was excellent and I really liked Kelly VWs sales team. And the car Is solid and drives great. The software not so much but hey it's hard to get everything in the EV category. I am a bit of a car nerd so after purchase I looked through the VW online forums and kept up with other ID4 owners online, over the last year and a half. At about 17k miles my steering wheel started to peel a little bit. A quick search through google and/or reddit showed that this is an issue with some ID4s particularly the 2023 models. I have been told the 2022 models used leather, 2023s had fake leather and 2024s switched back to the leather steering wheel. No big deal I thought and brought it in to Kelly VW. At this stage the peeling was minimal but I wanted to get a head of it in case there was an easy fix. Alas, VW of America turned down my warranty claim pretty much saying I did it. Fast forward a month later and the steering wheel is peeling like crazy, I have steering wheel dandruff everywhere when I drive. It's actually embarrassing when there is someone with me in the car. So I bring it back to Kelly VW, get some photos taken and get it escalated to field managers etc.. After 2 months of back and forth, my claim has been denied again. Kelly VW did offer to fix the issue if I paid a $200 "copay". This manufacturing issue is 100% not of my making. To summarize, I did not do this to my $53k/19k miles vehicle, this has never happened on any other auto I have owned, it is a known issue with this model and year and others have had it covered. For me the VW quality of build and the fallback of a decent warranty is why I purchased several VWs. I no longer have confidence in Kelly VW, The VW brand and their "warranty" and will not be buying Audi or VW again in the future. PS the service dept folks at Kelly and the CSA at VW of America were polite, nice people to talk with and were prompt and quick to follow up with me so thank you ! I can't speak to the higher ups that denied my claim.

The experience at Kelly Volkswagen Danvers is unmatched. The Product Experts, Managers, & Sales Representatives are extremely professional and understanding, most importantly they treat you with respect. The absolute transparency on pricing from New to Certified Pre-Owned is something you cannot find many other places. There is no grey area when it comes to price which makes the process 100x times smoother, more comfortable, and completely stress free. I highly recommend Kelly VW to anyone looking for great, affordable prices on fantastic, clean, modern automobiles. From the front desk to the back office, the individuals running ship is what makes this Volkswagen special.

Before you read my review, or anyone else's - go look up all their dealerships. There's 2 Kelly Nissan dealerships, a Kelly Ford dealership, a Kelly Jeep-Chrysler dealership, and a Kelly Honda dealership. ONLY ONE HAS AT LEAST 3 STARS. This company is a giant scam. First off, I called VW corporate, and they essentially told me that whenever this place says that they are a "top rated dealership" or that their mechanics are "top rated by VW", it's complete nonsense. The only ratings are internal and not audited by VW, so they're most likely not real. I also did not receive any survey so I'd be led to believe they don't send surveys to upset customers, and therefore do not receive negative feedback. Seems like I'm not the only one disappointed. I will say that before posting this review I had extensive sessions with Nick, the service manager, who I'm thinking was probably in a tough spot. Hate to post this review but I feel as if my concerns were completely brushed aside. Two and a half weeks ago, I called Kelly VW for regular service on my timing belt. I had just bought a used car and felt it should be replaced because the car was just over the 100k miles. I scheduled the appointment for a week out. On the arranged day (Wednesday), I brought my car in, and as is normal, they said it would take about 6-12 hours for the car to be ready - at the very latest Thursday morning. Wednesday night I get a call (uh oh) from Rachel saying that they didn't have all the parts for the job...which I ordered a week in advance. I had made it very clear that I needed my car for work, due to insurance reasons. She kept insisting that I should be happy with the crappy loaner that had someone else's lotion in it. I was not happy, but she promised it would be done by Thursday night. Thursday night rolls around and Rachel is texting me telling me that it's going to have to be Friday morning because the mechanic didn't know how to do this specific timing belt. Friday rolls around and they tell me Monday. I'm now missing 5 days of work. I even had to ask for an apology. Rachel said sorry, then threw in a massive "but" and continued to blame the situation on me. When I went on Monday to see the Service Manager named Nick, it was even more disappointing. First off, he drives a Mercedes (pic included), so you know he just loves VWs. Second, he tried to insist that the man who had done my timing belt was one of the best mechanics in the country, but that it took 15 hours for him to replace a timing belt. He took 100 bucks off. For shame. Come to find out, after I left, the free "wash" they gave me was probably just them spraying my car with a hose. Look at all the water spots. I will never come here again. If you need any help writing a demand notice or getting your money back, please contact me. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A REPAIR, SEND A 30 DAY DEMAND NOTICE CITING MA 940 CMR 5.05 I'd like to make clear that if they do respond here, it will be to say that they didn't have the one time bolts that they needed to fix my car. Again, I made my appointment a week in advance, so it's just nonsense spin.

..given my car back from cat system recall with less than month left on sticker , only to promptly fail emissions test..

Bill's Auto Sales

October 1, 2015 Let…read moreme preface this review by saying that, in general, I never write these things. Usually, the service or item I receive is what I expect and there is really nothing worth taking time to share. That IS NOT the case this time! Let me explain; I needed a car to replace the aging one my daughter was driving. After multiple internet searches, I found what we were looking for listed on line at Bill's Auto Sales. I called and spoke with Tony, he assured me that the car was available and, as I was unable to get there until the next day, I should call there again in the morning and speak to Glen so he would know when to expect me. I did just that, and Glen offered that he would hold the car for me while I made the hour and half drive to check it out. When I did arrive, both the car and Glen were there and he gave my daughter and me a free hand in looking it over. It was just as described on their website. He was very open, giving me the Carfax and in telling me the short comings of the vehicle they had found, as well as, how those items would be addressed. After a test drive we were able to settle on a price and a deposit. Due to my schedule we made arrangements to pick up the car the following week, giving Bill's Auto time to make the agreed upon repairs and get the paper work in line. During that week, Glenn messaged me a number of times regarding the progress on both. These guys really communicate well! We indeed picked up the car as planned, took a test drive and agreed that the repairs were complete. Bill's Auto took care of the registration transfer and we were off. My daughter loves the car! So here's what my take away is.. Bill's Auto Sales and in particular, Glen provide an excellent environment for purchasing a car. I found them to be accommodating, friendly, and excellent communicators but above all else they were honest. In discussing the vehicle ..no excuses were made, no stories made up. Buying a car is a big purchase and is never without some amount of compromise working with someone you can trust is key in getting the best deal.. these are your guys. I highly recommend Bill's Auto Sales

MULTIPLE issues, including a timing chain which cost $3,000 to repair. I was out of luck as they said the lemon law doesn't apply over 125K miles. Salespeople have a poor demeanor and I am confident they knew about this issue, cleared the check engine code, to leave me with the expensive repair bill.
