The salon itself is absolutely beautiful, the aesthetic is so chic, and everyone I interacted with was incredibly kind and welcoming. I genuinely liked the stylist as a person (Katie), and she made me feel comfortable. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was not what we discussed. Before the appointment, I had a consultation where I explained that my hair is difficult to cut and that I've had issues in the past with people not layering it correctly. I specifically asked for multiple blended layers, we talked through it together, and I even showed reference photos so we were on the same page. The end result looked more like harsh shelves than layers, and my hair ended up feeling butchered. I actually specifically said that I didn't want shelves. I also ended up having a lot of split and uneven ends. It was very disappointing because I had been so clear about what I wanted, and I left feeling like all of my concerns during the consultation weren't reflected in the final cut. I don't doubt that they're talented or that others have had great experiences here, and I truly appreciate how kind everyone was. But after my experience, I wasn't comfortable returning.

I called Milan in Scranton for a consult and when I went in, I was told about their unique laser machine which is different than the ones my previous spas used. Milan does laser hair removal and ONLY laser hair removal and the results are amazing! The first treatment there on my face had great results; those few stubborn hairs were gone. Five weeks later I went for my second treatment and the laser was turned up to treat those fine hairs; I've noticed a significant reduction in the fine hairs the other spas could never get rid of! What a confidence booster to know the facial hairs are gone! I also decided to treat a new area on my body I never treated before. After that first treatment I had about a 50% reduction in the amount of hair. I was wowed for sure! The best part about Milan is that the treatment package allows for lifetime touch-ups at no extra cost. I travel around the country a lot and was told that I could receive any necessary touch-up at any of their locations. But the way things are going, I'm not sure I'll ever need touch-ups again! I didn't think any place could take me in a couple of hours on the same day BUT when I called Abington Spa they were so welcoming and compassionate about getting me in to see Amy for a deep tissue massage. Location: when I pulled up to the building and parked I had to walk to front door only to see the small print that the spa was located around back and to park in the back. I was a bit annoyed for wished the receptionist could have stated that on the phone call especially knowing the sharp excruciating pain I was in but anyways. I like the décor of the place very tranquil. Amy greeted me and asked me if I wanted water or WINE.. I immediately smiled and chose wine. Service: the deep tissue massage was so good I loved the pressure she gave and the fact that she asked me if the pressure was good throughout the service. She was really able to dig into the muscle and work thru the kinks. I later found out that she worked at a rehab facility for years and that is where she knew how to identify tough areas. she was a life saver.
