"A man is coming this afternoon to fix your organ" I announced to my 87-year old mom before we both broke down in laughter. It sounded like a line from a porn film.
Like everything else about her, my mom's electric organ is old. On my last visit I got it working briefly only to have it die out again shortly after she sat down to play. It's an ungainly thing that can't just be hauled down to Guitar Center for repair.
How I even found Kelly Keys is a mystery that I'd not like you to have to go through. They bill themselves as a "organ, keyboard, and digital piano repair" service for "all makes and models". That'll do.
Whether Kelly Keys has a physical shop out of which they operate is another mystery to me. Once I had their number I phoned for an appointment and arrangements were subsequently made. I have no idea where that town is in which they're based but it didn't much matter as the organ itself was going nowhere.
Kelly Keys schedules appointments for dates and times when they'll be in the area and they cover a wide swath of areas (in this case, Newport Beach). Depending on your location you might have to wait a bit to get a date but when you do you'll also get a 2-hour window during which they'll arrive. Charges are $125 for the first hour and they'll let you know in advance if they expect to exceed that. Repairs come with a 90 day warranty.
The technician was on time and my mom's organ was fixed for $125. Oh were it that simple to keep all her other organs working.
