    My son enjoyed the playground

Truly worth the price of admission. If you get here early enough you'll find a good spot for parking as well as at the playground. There are tons of people here so be cautious especially during the pandemic. Pay attention to the signs that are posted and respect the space of others. There is lots of space for children to have fun playing around. Be it crawling, running or snacking. I'll be back for sure as this is such a beautiful place. La Jolla, though very popular and extremely crowded is always an excellent choice. Be sure to spend some time here and enjoy all that it has to offer.

Beautiful park right by the beach with a big grassy area and playground for the kids.

Great stop for the kids! Just minutes off route 5. Clean and super long walkway on the beach.

This is a really great park for kiddos and you can't beat the view. They have to play structures, swings and, of course, lots of sand! Some of the play structure is an ideal for young toddlers but is fine if you have a close eye on them. The playground equipment itself isn't too old and is a great location on the beach. My kiddos loved it!

Kellogg Park is a long, grassy area that is adjacent to La Jolla Shores beach-the best family beach in all of San Diego. Lots of fun activities take place here at the Park-BBQ's, parties, weddings, family functions. Just like Dennis the Menace Park along the beach in Monterrey, the Children's Playground offers kids the perfect play area to run around in. Nice jungle gyms and slides. There is a big circular tunnel my son used to love hiding in. Palm trees line the sandy area and a concrete boardwalk separates the park from the beach. The playground is also set away from Kellogg Park and there are benches around for parents to sit and watch their kids play. Remodeled beach bathrooms are very close by and so is a main Lifeguard Tower. What I particularly enjoyed was the La Jolla relief map adjacent to the playground that was sponsored by Birch Aquarium and Scrips Institute. It features pictures and information about ocean life. Shells, dolphins, scenes of ocean canyons and reefs, whales-it was wonderfully educational. I cannot speak highly enough about this Children's Playground. Even though the parking situation is horrendous here at La Jolla Shores, I still cannot bring myself to even take off 1 Yelp Star. There certainly is ample space for children to run and play, and adding to the pro-family atmosphere of La Jolla Shores and Kellogg Park is a complete ban on alcoholic beverages! As every beleaguered parent knows: LOTS of fun running around, looking at pictures of fish, playing and swimming in the fresh air and sunshine at the beach==1 thing! A long nap time and most certainly an early bed time! Kellogg's Park Children's Playground-a parent's BEST FRIEND!

Watching the kids is difficult with such an amazing view of sunset

A great place for the younger (and older) kids to have some fun shaking off the sand and playing on zip lines monkey bars slides and places to climb including a rope net. Bathrooms and showers are located close by.

    Beach side.

4.5 stars. Decent size and fun for the little ones. Nothing beats being at the beach with a playground and grassy area. Brand new lifeguard tower built, looks amazing. Parking is usually full by mid morning, but you can always park in the neighborhood and admire the beautiful La Jolla as you cruise to the beach. We like to have breakfast at Caroline's cafe and then cruise down here afterward. Makes a good plan for half our weekend day.

The location is stunning, right along the water with incredible ocean scenery, dramatic cliffs, and plenty of spots to sit and take it all in. On a clear day, the views are unreal and it really does feel like a postcard version of Southern California. That said, it is extremely crowded. Between tourists, families, photographers, and people stopping to watch the seals and sea lions, it can feel packed, especially mid day and on weekends. Parking can be challenging and the constant foot traffic takes away a bit from the peaceful, relaxing vibe you might be hoping for. If you don't mind crowds or are visiting for the first time, it's still 100 percent worth seeing. Just be prepared for lots of people and limited personal space. Go early in the morning or closer to sunset if you want a slightly calmer experience. Beautiful park, incredible views, but the crowds knock it down to four stars.

I wasn't aware that this place was here, but I had just finished an appointment in the area and figured I'd check it out. Glad it did. I found a table to do some writing and update my planner. Shade is easily found and the play structure is great for children + adults of all ages. Lastly, there are restrooms and water fountain located not too far. Shout out to Ms. Maruta Gardner!! If you're looking for a birthday hang, a picnic date, a sunset spot, a place to read, chill with your pup spot, or make some art, this park has you covered. It's the perfect spot for any occasion. The views are breathtaking and the vibe is super laid‑back. There are always plenty of people around, so it feels like one big community hang. If you're lucky, you might even catch someone DJing or playing music everyone can enjoy. They also offer community yoga classes here -- I haven't signed up yet, but it's nice to know it's an option. The park is pretty steep in some areas, so you might need to walk around a bit to find a flat spot where you're not sitting at an incline. I'd recommend bringing chairs, blankets, and any shade essentials you might need since there aren't many tree‑shaded areas. Parking is tough and the bathrooms are your typical not‑so‑great public park bathrooms, but don't let that stop you from experiencing the best park in San Diego.
