I hired Kellogg Movers for my move as I had used them on previous moves. I noticed a couple of items that I could not find. I contacted them with no resolve. I filed a police report for the disappearance of cherished high-value items, including heirlooms, and sentimental belongings. Beyond the financial implications, the loss of sentimental and personal belongings caused me significant distress and anxiety and I do not want anyone to have to go through that. The experience was traumatic and frustrating, particularly when they accuse me of lying. They do not want to file a claim so I am left feeling abused by them and the insurance company. I had my move scheduled from 12:00-1:00, and around 11:00 I was asked by the manager if 1:00-2:00 would work instead, I agreed that it was fine. I called around 2:20 and was told the movers were on there way. Around 3:00 they called and said they would be there within the hour. They showed up around 4:00. I got a very unnecessary call right before they showed up from Kelly saying to please not be upset with his guys for being late. He also told me that he had to book a job before mine because I had asked to move the time down, and that was why they were late. (Even though he was the one who moved the time, I just agreed it would work) When the movers showed up, they were very rude and seemed very annoyed to be there. Every item they were asked to move seemed to be a huge inconvenience for them. I tried to create small talk with them, but they weren't having it. They seemed to be laughing and joking around when they were out by their truck, and when they walked inside, went back to being pissed off. They were carrying all of the items in through the garage door, and then one of them pounded on my front door because it was locked. (They did not ask me to open it) I ran over to open it for him, and he just glared at me and did not even say thank you. I felt like I was working with angry teenagers. I hired these guys because of their awesome reviews online, so I figured I should write an honest one to save someone the headache I had to deal with today. He fit us in during the busy Christmas season so we could have Xmas in our home. When they moved our furniture, it didn't fit well into our new bedroom. I had friends that were supposed to help me move but bailed on me last minute I'm a disabled Veteran and my back couldn't handle all that by myself so I called Kellogg Movers and the next morning they showed up quoted me for a very decent price and was extremely flexible with it! I called 5 movers for quotes. 4 of them gave me quotes within $50 dollars of each other and all were under $600 for my move to northern Utah. Kellogg Movers came in, looked at my single-person's-small-1-bedroom-apartment's-worth-of-stuff and quoted me $1400. They also said they usually charge EXTRA for over 30 boxes but would "throw that in at no extra charge; just for me". I feel like I got the "single female" quote. Needless to say, I didn't choose them. I chose The Other Side Mover's instead, which is a 5 star company that helps the homeless and people who have been in jail by giving them training and work, so that they can rebuild their lives and their resumes. Was exceedingly happy with them, and they didn't try to price-gouge me. In fact they had the lowest quote. The other movers quoted me prices for 2 to 3 guys. I believe Kellogg's was quoting me for 3 guys as well, but even if they were going to have 4 guys, it doesn't justify a quote that was over double what the hourly mover's quoted. read more

I was a bit skeptical when I read some of the reviews for Kellogg Movers, but their quote was $250 less than other moving companies and thought... Well its worth a try...and it was absolutely worth it! They were on time, extremely polite and did a fantastic job! They pointed out some pre exsiting dings on my furiture before they even touched it, which I completely appreciated. They were fast and got everything moved in less time then I originally thought it would take. I grew up in a military family so moving every year or two was normal, but it was never as easy as the Kellogg Movers team made it. We recently moved from our two-bedroom apartment to a house. I think the movers and I were both disappointed because of miscommunications that led to a lot of surprises. We had an in-person estimate. The estimator looked at my apartment and estimated it would take about 90 boxes and cost around $900. I also told him we had a storage unit and that seemed fine. I assumed the estimate included the boxes but found out later this wasn't the case. Make sure you write verbal agreements down on the estimate. When they showed up the day of the move they said I never mentioned a storage unit. It became a game of he-said-she-said that set the day off on a bad note. Take note of what they will and will not move. For example, they will not move any "unsealed" containers. For us, that meant leaving a sewing machine, lamps, floor mats for our chairs, plants, and a bike. They also didn't take one of our rugs, three sealed bags of clothes, and several items on our patio. They won't take your TV unless you have the original box, though after we wrapped ours up they did take it. We discovered while unloading that they will not put boxes into rooms without extra payment ($150 per 30 boxes). The mover pointed this out in their guidelines but I'd never heard of something like this in the seven moves we've made in the last nine years so it never occurred to me. There was an odd behavior during the move. First thing in the morning the mover asked us to rate them highly before they had moved anything. Then, later in the day, he asked me again, texted me the review link, and asked me to review them right then. At that moment some of the movers dropped our table. We laughed nervously and I didn't do the review, which I'm glad because during the last hour they seemed frustrated and their attitude changed from helpful to exasperated. The last sting was the final bill. When he said the boxes were not included in the estimate and would cost $300 more I was taken aback. That put the bill almost to $1100. In the last nine years, we've moved three times in Seattle and three times in San Diego and our average cost was $800-900 (from door to door). For some of those moves, we had over 2000 sqft worth of stuff. And, the movers put the boxes in the right rooms. So, $1100 was a major shock. In the end I feel like I was ripped off but it was too late to change anything. One note: They are fast. They had the entire move done in 4 1/2 hours. read more

These guys charged almost $500 to move a storage units worth of stuff out of a garage and into an apartment. Also, they weren't very careful with some of our items which included a 60 year old dresser and an 80 year old chest. As they were moving stuff in, one of the dudes hit the wall with the chest and left a nice sized hole in the wall! Right in front of me. And he didn't apologize or even acknowledge what he did. Compared to movers we had hired in San Diego which only charged $250 to move an entire house 28 miles away, these guys are way too over priced and I was not satisfied with their service. Moving is usually a pretty stressful process. When we moved from out of state we hired Mayflower, and was pretty unhappy with them. The price went up several hundred dollars from original quote, totes were stacked untidily, and in some cases upside down. So I wasn't very optimistic for the professional treatment from a "non name brand" company. From the first meeting for original quote, which never changed, to the last box unloaded the entire process was quick and painless (for us). I used Kellog Movers to help me unload my ABF moving trailer when I moved to Salt Lake City. Scheduling movers was very easy and best done via email. Fast forward to moving day, I was told that the movers would show up around Noon. At 12:30PM I called to get an update on where the mover's were and they were "busy" with another job and will be there as soon as they can. After a couple more hours of NO communication they finally showed up at 2:45PM to help me unload this trailer. Needless to say, if you are looking for a moving company to show up on time.. good luck. On the positive side, once these guys showed up they were great, worked efficiently, and did give me somewhat of a break on price due to their tardiness. If you have a move that has no timeframe or expectations these guys are great. If you'd like realistic expectations or a moving company to show up when they tell you they will this may not be your best choice. read more

Poor customer service! Failed to show up on my moving day when I had to be out. It was a Sunday when no one is open and they didn't call , text .... nothing. I reached out to Kelly himself once It went far to long without them showing up and he claimed the truck they had broke down and he was trying to reach me. Don't use the movers! I booked them 2 weeks in advance for a Monday at 9 AM! They called me the morning of and said it would be 1:00! Then they called and said 4 and 5! I had a very mixed experience with Kellogg Movers. The person handling phone calls and taking appointments is extremely rude and condescending, I believe his name is Kelly. I called them because my apartment complex referred the company to me. While making my appointment I felt like the man I was speaking with was impatient and he spoke to me as if I was a dumb child. I only continued with the appointment because I had a short time frame to move and Kellogg Movers was the only company with availability. The movers were over 2 hours late and when I called the same man back requesting an ETA he had no idea where his men where and how long it would take them to arrive to my apartment. When I questioned him, he immediately became defensive, cursing at me, screaming that I can find a different company to move my stuff (although he definitely used more offensive language). The movers left me a voicemail that they were already in route to help me. I called Chris and his team back letting them know about my conversation with Kelly. Chris was apologetic, but ensured he would still take care of me. Chris and his team were friendly, professional, and efficient! They had all of my stuff moved in an hour. I was truly grateful the movers still arrived to help me and treated my items well. I definitely recommend the movers, but the company needs a new person to take phone calls and deal with customer service. read more

I sold a desk to someone that could not pick up the piece so I called Chris from Kellogg Movers to see if he could deliver it for a small fee. I was surprised how quickly they could deliver it a such short notice and how inexpensive it was! When the guys arrived to drop off the desk my customer couldn't get her PayPal working so gladly the gentleman ran to the bank with her to get paid and later met up with me to give me the money!
