A little over two years ago, I wrote a 5-Star review on Kelly Tree for their magnificent work. Now, they seem like family. Had them back again to "manicure" my trees which seem to grow like weeds. This time I give them "10-STARS". They are still the best in the business in the High Desert --- and probably in Southern California!!! Beware of This Company - Dishonest and Unprofessional I requested a quote from this company to trim 5 palm trees and a pine tree. Paul or Mark (they act like friendly country guys, but don't be fooled) quoted me $2,300--more than double another quote I received for $1,200. When I mentioned the lower bid, they immediately dropped their price to $1,200. That alone should've been a red flag. If they can slash their price by 50% in two minutes, imagine how much they're overcharging unsuspecting customers who don't get multiple quotes. Since I wasn't at the property, they sent me photos after the job. The palm trees looked fine, but the pine tree was barely touched. After asking for more trimming, I finally agreed it was acceptable. I gave them my credit card, and they charged $1,200. But right after charging me, they casually mentioned they broke the pipe connected to the water main. Funny how they waited until after payment to tell me that. I guided them over the phone to shut off the water, and they promised to fix it in the next day or two. On Monday, they claimed the leak was fixed and the system pressure-tested. I reminded them (again) to send me an invoice, but never received one. When I visited the property four days later, the hose bib was still leaking. No matter how tight I turned the handle, water kept dripping. I called them immediately, and instead of owning up to their poor repair, they blamed a mystery person for tampering with the faucet. Really? That's their excuse? They refused to come back to fix it. I ended up repairing it myself. When I disassembled the hose bib, I saw they had used way too much PVC glue, which hardened and prevented the washer from sealing properly. Total amateur work. Bottom line: Their customer service is terrible, their work is sloppy, and they don't take responsibility for their mistakes. Avoid this company unless you want to overpay for poor service and deal with headaches afterward. You've been warned. read more

Absolutely horrible. They were hired by our mobile home park to come trim trees. They did not trim the trees for the health of the trees, they just whacked off branches that were hanging over the coaches. In addition, they broke my bbq and a wind chime. They also butchered the heck out of my 20 year old Camelia bush. They didn't even know that it wasn't a tree. Absolutely destroyed it. Tried talking with the owner and he seemed nice but couldn't hear me. Said he'd send his son over to speak with me about what happened. Never came. The guys onsite told me they were just doing what they were told to do. Absolutely livid about their lack of care over my things. Don't use this company ! read more

After calling 2 other companies, one was overpriced, one didn't even show up for the estimate appt. (really bad business etiquette). I found Kelley tree service. They came out same day for estimate. They started the next day, finished the job and cleaned up the yard! They beat the first place by $1000 Definitely using them again for any tree work! The crew was nice, the owners were easy to talk to. Had 3 mulberrys trimmed way down, and an elm cut halfway. read more

Kelley Tree Service was in my neighborhood working and asked I needed any work. I asked for a price on removing a couple of dead trees and an Oleander. The price was so low I was shocked. The crew came over, they had the right tools for the job. Performed the tasks safely, they cut the trees up into firewood size and stacked it for me and cleaned up after themselves. Their total price was far less than their competitors price just to remove one dead tree. The cool thing is they took the time to give advice on what would be great replacement trees. read more

One of the trees in my yard had become dangerous and needed to be trimmed and/or removed. I called Kelley Tree Company and got voicemail at first, but they got back to me quickly. Mark came out for a free estimate the same day and was able to do the work the very next day. Kelley Tree Company did a great job! Was told they would be here at 8:00am they showed up 11:15. Wood chipper over heated so they couldn't finish the first day. Left trash and scraps everywhere. Tree limb fell on my house dented the eve and broke my gutter. Left huge logs in the street and said they would have to charge more to move. Left huge pile of wood on my lawn owner said because he's let everyone go home he would be out first thing Monday ... came @11:40. They did a fantastic job on my trees. They trimmed pines, olives, elm and ash trees at my house. They left the trees looking well groomed as opposed to butchered like some trimmers do. They cleaned up all of the mess, and left us all the wood that could be used for firewood. My pine trees were close to being 4 stories tall, but it was no problem, one of the workers was up in the trees thinning them up beautifully. They even went to my neighbors to clean any debris that fell on their property. I highly recommend. read more

I hired Kelley Tree to remove a very large and older tree right next to my house on my property and after they finished the job as I was getting ready to pay Nicholas the driver of the tall cherry picker truck clipped my power line and broke my electric box. Before they started the job I instructed Nicholas and the crew to go around the pole with the power line on it and the whole crew did when they started and finished the job but the driver (the same driver the lady mentions in the previous review before this one), decided to pull forward with the truck and clipped my power line and broke the box. The driver's only excuse was that he was in rush to go get something to eat cause he was hungry. Well after the mess the driver did by not going around the pole the owner, Mark Kelley, decided that he wasn't going to pay for a new box so I had to go to his insurance company and file a claim and then he decided to pay for it which was almost 3 months after I made a claim. Their equipment was old and because of that they had issues during the job, also their tree stumper was broken so they couldn't use it to grind the stump when they finished the job. If you ask me the owner Mark is too busy to run this business leaving his crew unsupervised on job sites most of the time and that's not right or fair to the property owners or to anyone who eventually decides to hire Kelley Tree, so heads up everyone. The negligence of this business put me in a bad predicament and I would never recommend them. All I could say is I agree with the previous review don't fall for their cheap prices and watch out for that same driver! read more

I really appreciate this company, they were able to come out last minute and get everything we needed done. Take down and shave down the stumps of two trees and trim down a pine and big Joshua. Also tow a fallen Joshua tree. Great team, they work fast, efficiently, and cleanly. Will definitely be calling them again with any future need. My best. read more

Kelly Trees did a fantastic job removing our messy weeping willow tree. I hired them to trim up our pine tree too. They were quick and cleaned up in about 25 minutes. Paul the owner was very helpful and he even offered to let us make payments if we wanted to. Paul was there the whole time supervising his crew. Their prices were the lowest in town. Hired Kelleys tree service to remove a few trees that were busting up our driveway. We called 3 companies and they were the only company that showed up. They worked with us on the price and did the service the next day. A job we expected to take almost a full day, they completed in less than 2 hours. They sent a crew of 4 guys and two trucks. I've used Kelley for YEARS and have always received great value for the work done. Just two weeks ago, they came up with an ingenious method to trim a tall tree in my backyard. They also removed a row of problematic Oleanders, including using a stump grinder to eliminate these "trees" to below ground level. My palms are maintained at a "first-rate" condition by them. I explained what I was wanting done and Paul was out the same day courteous and professional had the estimate that day and the very next his team was out doing the work. I thought Paul was great, his team took time and did exactly what we wanted done they worked and worked and worked and after they were done they cleaned up the yard and it did not even look like they had been there, except for the trees looking perfectly trimmed. Had them come out and remove a few trees and do some trimming. They had forgotten to remove one of the stumps and we called them back to make sure they didn't forget to come back to do this. Took them a few days but they finally made it. They tried hacking at the stump for over an hour, never even made a dent in the stump and then leave without even cleaning up their mess. We called them back, left a message and got no follow up phone call from them!! Apparently the grandson has now taken over and needs to learn some customer service skills!! I was disappointed to try and call them 3 times and never received a call back. First time I left a voice mail....no call. Second time I talked to receptionist and she said someone would call, never did. I called and to,d her no one called so she said she'd leave another message stating that and still no call back. AWESOME! Called for estimate, called back next day & scheduled for same day estimate. Paul showed up on time and was very friendly & professional. Gave me a great price, we agreed. He had his guys on site less than 90 mins later & they finished the job in less than two hours. He removed 8 Italian Cypress tress & topped 11 more in a small backyard with a pool. I'm impressed, access was certainly an issue. I had to leave for an appt, when I got back they were done & gone.
