I first took it to my local Ford dealership and asked them to check the car out and fix what needed fixing, the end result was very unsatisfactory leading to losing trust in their mechanics. I next took my Edge to a Christian Brothers auto shop in my area with the hopes of finding a trustworthy replacement for the Ford dealership. Strike Two!!! they tried to replace a part that Ford had already done . Bottom line , they tried to rip me off!!! I caught it and confronted their management. They won't get any more business from me. Moving forward to February 2026-My car started to experience front end suspension noises, AGAIN! (Ford fixed it-so I thought). I needed to find another shop that won't rip off the customer. Reputation is key! My search commenced and I found a local shop near me called "The Noble Mechanic" - (Reputation is key) I made an appointment and was assigned to service adviser Andrew. I told him my story and asked to have my car totally diagnosed and checked over again. I needed peace of mind on all previous work that was supposedly done that I was charged for. I stressed that I'm looking for a new shop to bring my family's business to. I received my car health report and was informed that the Ford dealership used NON-OEM third party parts when they repaired my front suspension. These were bad parts that didn't fit correctly and were failing. Adviser Andrew then provided options for me to consider and suggested the correct OEM equivalents over original OEM to save me $$$$. Overall, Their total car check and diagnosis is very detailed with pictures and the communication walkthrough is done with patience and clarity not rudeness and short answers. Although, I would like to see their labor rate charge of ($137.43 hr.) fully disclosed on invoices/bills (Had to ask Andrew for it) may be higher than other shops, but please consider this, you WANT a shop who employs highly trained and experienced mechanics who love cars and will NOT cut corners when repairing it. Reputation is key!!! Reviews count!! Thank you Andrew and your great team of mechanics for their work. The Noble Mechanic has earned our business going forward.

For one thing, they called us the next day, telling us the key was stuck in the ignition and they couldn't get it out and would we want them to fix it. Anybody who knows how to use Google knows that there's a little button underneath the column that you press to remove the key (which our mechanic knew). The next day, they called telling us there was a problem with the starter. There was no issue with the starter when it was at our regular mechanic. The starter being burned out happens when the starter is over-cranked. They wanted to charge us to fix the starter in addition to trying to figure out the other issues. Luckily for them, my brother is paperwork averse. If it had been me, I would have talked to the BBB. He ended up selling the vehicle to the junkyard. If they were hoping he would buy a car from them, a snowball has a better chance in an active volcano.

Fortunately, one of the corporate shops steered us to Renner's. When I contacted Meranda who runs the office she said they would be happy to take it on. The estimate was done the same day. There was only one change in the estimate during the repair - they advised a new rear door rather than repairing it since the existing one had been fixed before and would therefore not be as safe as a new one. We were happy in all respects, and glad we can continue to drive our 'totaled' Prius! I strongly recommend Renner's.
