Staff are good people, competent and friendly - as long as you follow the seating rules: Seating is done by honor system of first come first to sit at next available table so pay attention to who is waiting when you go in as they don't take names. We have seen newbies get called out for trying to jump ahead of others. Do not sit until table is cleared and wiped down. Oh my goodness! We just moved to the area and I think we found a real gem...and we love a good country breakfast. This is the kind of place that serves real country goodness, cooked with love and served up with southern hospitality. It's that place where everyone knows your name and if your new, well you are now part of the family. I had the Keithsburg Omelete and it was crazy delicious. It comes with a massive biscuit and well I indulged by having sausage gravy on top...YUM! My husband had the 2 egg breakfast and well he couldn't stop raving on and on about those biscuits! If you are a Georgia Bulldog fan you will love the atmosphere; however, the food is so good even Georgia Tech fans can't resist coming in. The owner, Coy, is a gem of a fella. It's not often you go to a restaurant and the owner comes around to say hi and see how you are liking the food. This is a family owned business so all the more reason to support it. A local favorite so I was interested to check it out - The food was okay. Nothing fancy, but cooked as ordered. They offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and omelets. The seating area is VERY small so plan to wait most days. Overall the service was good, but I felt very rushed since there is little seating and people waiting. I've avoided this place for 20 years and I've been missing out! It looks a little sketchy on the outside, but trust me, WALK IN! You won't regret it. Good cheap food. Fast friendly service. So far I've had the western omelet and patty melt ($3-4), both were better than the $20 meal I had for dinner the same day. One thing: there's not a lot of seating, but you'll still get a seat pretty quick. Also, cokes come in cans, so no free refills! My wife, daughter, and I took the drive out to Keithsburg Cafe a couple of weeks ago after reading a lot of great recommendations for it on our HOA Facebook group. We definitely would not have tried it on our own as we are wary of gas station food, but we would have missed out! The moment we walked in, my wife looked at me and said, "It smells like your grandma's kitchen in here!" which mean it smells delicious. At least that's what it means to me, I'm not as sure that she means it exactly the same way. We had a short wait for a seat, and the small space of the dining room prevented us from putting our daughter where she would have had more room, since it would have butted out into the area the servers needed to walk. Our server wasn't exactly friendly, but she wasn't rude either. I think she was just busy, although it was clear that the regulars received a much friendlier tone than the rest of us. The food was all great. My wife and I both had more or less the same food of biscuits, gravy, corned beef hash, bacon, grits, and eggs. We thought it would be a small meal somehow, but it took up almost the whole table! Our daughter had toast and egg, but she didn't care for the eggs. I'm not sure if they added too much milk or if there was cheese in them, but for some reason she would not eat them, although she loves all the other eggs we've given her or ordered for her in other places. Don't come here if you're in a hurry or if you're opposed to sitting really close to other people, but do come here if you love good, down-home cooking and getting to chat with some friendly folks, most of whom seem to be long-time locals. read more

Great little place on the 11 occasions I had the chance to go in. I admit I have only had the chance for Breakfast, but what they produce is a great non grease filled wholesome meal that you want to get out of Waffle House, but rarely get. Price was cheaper and the ladies here were delightful and have even got a free piece of the Coca Cola Cake one time (damn, now I understand drug dealers!!!), been hooked on them ever since. Grits that could be put on the plate and not run all over the plate, long cooking grits not the instant stuff, made by someone the know what grits are and how they should be cooked. Absolutely the best food around!!! The staff is so friendly and treat you just like family. The owner always comes over to our table to play with our daughter (she's 2). This makes it so much more personal than a traditional chain restaurant! The food is your traditional southern homemade tasting absolute goodness. It tastes like how my grandmom used to cook, very comforting! And you cannot beat their prices, seriously!! My only complaint is all the UGA decor, but this is coming from a GA Tech fan ;). read more

Let me start with I usually don't give 5 star reviews just because not many places can check every box but I guess there is a first time for everything. We actually passed up on Cracker Barrel to come here and I'm very glad we did. The service was amazing one of the waitresses even brought a fan out for our one year old, as we had chosen to sit outside and it was a little warm. Our waitress shayna never let our cups get empty and was very friendly. The food showed up within a good amount of time and was amazing. I had the "heart attack" biscuit, hash browns and a pancake and my wife had the country fried steak and honestly there were a lot of bold claims during our meal such as "best pancakes I've ever had" or "someone in the kitchen cares and you can tell" but not a one wasn't the truth we will definitely be coming back to this place and if you haven't been here you should definitely try it you won't be disappointed read more

My husband and I live in Ball Ground and were looking for a place to go for a late Sunday breakfast. Got on Yelp and it led me to the Keithsburg Cafe. Was our first visit and will not be our last. Met Dan the owner who is super nice. He and his wife purchased the cafe about 3 months ago. He is the former co-owner of the Rib Ranch in Marietta and he sold to purchase Keithsburg Cafe. He is a meat smoker so soon once he has all permits, etc he will be offering smoked ribs, pulled pork, chicken and brisket. I can't wait to try it. I had the Keithsburg Omelet which was SO good. I had hash browns with cheese and a biscuit. Their biscuits are SO good. I ended up giving 1/2 my large omlet to my husband because the homemade yellow cake with chocolate buttercream on the cake stand in front of me was calling my name. Hubby had the Philly omelet and he really liked it. This is just local, down home, cafe cooking at it's finest. No frills, just good homemade food and friendly service. Based on all the tickets we saw at the counter from Sunday I'd say this is a pretty popular place. I'm looking forward to going back. Highly recommend. read more

When they first took over we thought maybe they are just getting adjusted so we did not think too much about it. Tried it two more times,no improvement. Stopped there July 23rd it has gotten worse. We've visited once and had to pass by the other times we've tried because it was so crowded. For good reason, the food is good with generous portions for the price, and it's family owned which is a priority for us. Do be warned, if you look a little different (I have lots of visible tattoos) you might get some notice from the regulars, but they're harmless and they'll probably smile back if you smile first. read more
