Once, I biked from my house to Sullivan Hardware, and on the way had a nut fall off my bike! Once I got to Sullivan's, the manager went out of his way to make sure I found the correct nut to replace the lost one, and even lent me a few tools to make sure everything was installed safely. I really appreciated his kindness and patience. Great little store. Definitely recommend!

It is awfully convenient to have this size of store in little ole Pendleton...smaller than a big box but large enough to carry whatever your home improvement needs are. Today I was costing fertilizer and the price was just slightly higher than Home Depot. Good enough for me. There isn't a ton of staff there but the place is never too busy either.

The store offers an array of grills, power tools, paints and general hardware supplies. The shelves are remarkably well organized and neat. Many shelves were empty as I assume they are preparing for spring inventory. Many items were on clearance including Yetis so there are some great deals. In the entry alcove is a fascinating history of the hardware store's evolution. The history dates back to at least 1889 when the store was located at 110 West Main Street in Carmel. The store has been owned by four families start with O. W. Nutt prior to 1889. Steve White bought the store in 1984 and built the current location on Rangeline Road in 1989. I love that someone took the time to capture the history. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. You can only enter or exit going north in Rangeline, but the roundabouts make going in the right direction easy.

They have the friendliest staff of any store I have ever been in. Usually when I visit Ace Hardware, I have been sent there by my lovely husband who is in desperate need of some widget that I have no idea what it is. There is always someone ready to greet me right at the door at Tipton Ace Hardware to help me find exactly what I need. A very knowledgeable staff. If they don't have something in stock, they will also look to see if they can order it for you. We have purchased grilles, Christmas Trees, Christmas Lights, paint, and more from this store. Really just a random assortment of aging stuff. From strictly a hardware perspective I would be hard pressed to say I would return. I want to support local business but not for the sake of buying old junk at 2015 prices. Some of the price tags were commensurate with 2015 but the merchandise is straight 80s and 90s. There might be a couple of values here but not the type of place I will look for them. So 2 stars for the selection and a plus 1 for the trip back in time.

They carry Stihl, DeWalt and Milwaukee tools. Outside there were a selection of spring plants. I loved the gift area. They carry Justin Patten art featuring Zionsville, the Indiana Universities and the Indy 500. They also carry a number of other Indiana products that make great gifts. I never thought I'd buy a Weber grill, as I didn't understand why they seemed so expensive. After an Ace salesman showed me some differences and how they stocked all of the parts I may need down the road, I purchased one. That was a bit over a year ago, and I haven't had even the slightest "buyers remorse". Sure, it was a lot more than one of the other brands at a big box store, but wow does it do a great job. The heat is so even, and all of the controls just feel sturdy. On top of that most of the internals are made from stainless steel and should last a LONG time. Ace is a great asset to western Noblesville. As this town has grown, we've gotten all of the big box stores, but with those comes traffic and customer service that is mediocre at best. It's definitely nice to have a locally owned store where I can go pick up the things I need without having to drive across town.
