He did follow up on the size of these appliances and their specs. I had time to go over the models I needed. His guys were fast and replaced the whole hvac system in 2 days. They operate under name "Alliance Air Systems" too, and they keep creating new names as DBA (doing business as) This is a family owned business, primarily ran by Tom... who is the grand pa, and lead by El and Jersey and several grand kids. Did a sloppy job, and no support at all... it doesn't matter how many times you call them... they just don't answer. - Leave debris/dust all over, and leave all trash including soda cans in attic. very sloppy. - Initially they quote one unit, but on the day of installation they make all excuses and squeeze more. - Don't follow any city code, but claim they know everything and they have been doing it from several years. read more

These guys are very reasonable. I got the quote from at least 3 guys out there and they were the cheapest. Moreover, they gave me the same day appointment and returned my call right away as compared to a few others who took a while to return the call. Came for diagnostics first and then were able to apply my diagnostic fee towards my repair. I am very happy with their service and would highly recommend these guys. They might not have a lot of reviews on yelp but I heard from them that yelp removes the reviews if you are not a constant yelper. Not sure if this is true. They installed our AC unit and not too long after, the unit doesn't work. We called them to take a look, made an appt and on day of they just never showed up and ignored our phone calls - as we waited for them on our weekend. We spent good money with them, the install wasn't perfect, they opened a big hole in our flooring and never closed it back up up (we later found out and rodents were able to easily come through- not to mention the mystery smell we were experiencing at our home for a long time). The AC unit itself wasn't the factor, but the poor workmanship and professionalism. It breaks down and they fail to respond to come back to get it done right. Last year my central air started blowing warm air. I called a local AC guy to fix it and long story short I had the same problem a few months later. This time I call Jesse at Keep it Flowing Mechanical. I spoke to Jesse on the phone and set up an appointment. Jesse and his son showed up on time and figured out the problem in about 15 min. While Jesse had his son recharge the unit he took the time to reseal a few of my vents that were leaking air. They were both professional and knowledgeable. They cleaned up when they were done and it looks like they fixed the problem. When they were done Jesse even told me if the same thing happens again give him a call and he will make sure it is corrected. They charged a fair rate and they did a great job. I hope I do not need to call them again, but I attached their card to my furnace in case I ever need them again. So I think it's time for a fresh look at this company ... And while there are a few negative reviews written below, I think if more people reviewed these folks, we most likely would see a different trend. Our field technician Jessie (Jr.) took the time and effort to explain what was happening with our AC unit (had a break in the insulation cover for the coolant line and the condensation ended up pooling / staining some ceiling drywall) and how it can be prevented .. Initial cause may have been an old / dirty intake filter coupled with excessive usage causing the coolant lines to sweat to the point of bursting the insulation cover. Jessie also checked and recharged the freon level to put it in a normal range. We will definitely be telling our friends about our good experience and in fact Jessie ended up doing an AC check and recharge for another house on our block as well. The bottom line is that our experience was very positive. Great service, Very polite and informative field technician, Fair pricing ! Note: We were initially going to give them just four stars because our initial time slot was pushed out to the next morning ... I called thursday told them about my unit and once again they said they would call back. I called friday and the same thing, except this time, they said they would call me back and hung up.. funny thing is he never got my phone number. II do not know why do we have bad reviews here. My experience with this company, especially with the owner (Tom), was great. I had received a quote from Tom and quote was best among 5 quotes I received from other vendors. Installation went smooth but unfortunately, the furnace was not functioning. And this is the reason my review on Yelp for this company. Technicians and Tom himself came several times to troubleshoot an issue. And they fixed the furnace problem by replacing a circuit board! During the entire process, he was professional and responsive. even though I had an issue with the heater initially, I won't have any complaint against Tom and his crew. My heater broke on a Saturday morning, I called Keep It Flowing and they came out to my house quickly and not only fixed the problem, but also guided me on how to manage my furnace moving forward, so this issue doesn't reoccur. I contacted this company and spoke to Jay. We discussed an Air conditioning issue we've been having. We set up an appointment for the next day and he was going to check with one of his guys on if they would be able to live up to what he told me which was that they don't charge a service charge. I waited and waited and never heard from him, and he never showed up to our appointement and yes, he had my address and phone number. I'm actuallly happy this did happen because then I knew what kind of service they would give and it saved me tons of frustration and money down the road. Even speaking to him on the phone he was very unprofessional. The quote he gave me for freeon was also about $15 more than another guy in town. Oh, and they don't charge by the hour, they charge by the job so they can't give quotes and so they can rip you off. read more

In the cool of March 2013 I bought a new house and the attic gas furnace would shut down after only a few minutes. These guys were the lowest price of very few HVAC shops available for an unscheduled job. Jesse had to make three visits, twice failing to diagnose the problem, and ultimately selling me a new furnace as I shivered. After installing the new furnace the venturi whistled and the main air circulating fan shook out of balance, but at least the house was finally warm. In the middle of a July heatwave, I called a number of places to fix our 30 year old AC unit. Everywhere I called had a 10 to 20 day waiting list before they could even come out and look at it. I called these guys, and Jesse came over less than an hour later. Unfortunately, our ancient AC unit's fan had gone out, even though it was otherwise operational. He gave me the option looking for a fan motor, or installing a new AC the next day, and we talked about the pros and cons of each. Next day, they arrived within the allotted window, jumped right in, installed it in a few hours, and charged me the exact quoted amount. I used this business a year ago to remove and install a new furnace at my primary home. I called the company mainly beacuse they seem to be located nearby. I called and left a message one evenng and I received a call back from Jay early the next morning. The technician that Jay sent was extremely, and I mean extremely, knowledgeable and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. When it came to recommending the type of furnace he took his time to understand the layout of the house, etc... This left me with the impression that he wanted to truly understand the layout of the house and my needs, rather than taking an approach of recommending the most "expensive thing on the menu"... Upon him providing a recommendation for a Bryant unit, I went online and researched the product and features. I then agreed it was the right one. After that, I got on the phone with Jay to settle on the pricing. I felt that Jay was fair, and was able to accommodate my budget. Jay personally came to the installation and made sure things were up to par. I was very satisfied with his installers, they were very detailed oriented, and took their time to do things right. I've been extremely satisfied with the new furnace. Today, I require another furnace for another property and I decided to use this company once again. I'll write another review once the install is completed today. (Update: This business completed my second furnace installation. Jay's son Jesse did the install and he was fantastic, very detailed oriented, and did the job in the promised allocated time. They were very accommodating to my needs in having the install happen on the same day. I've been pleased with this business for two different installations of furnaces, and they will be at the top of my list for any future HVAC needs. I don't know about the quality of their work because after 2 visits and one missed installation appointment, there is no work to evaluate. The first visit to estimate would have been missed if I didn't call after they were late. Then another trip to make a parts list to make the job go quicker on install day. On install day, a new person called saying he'd be doing the job (a surprise to me) but wanted to get approval from the boss to add a component (free to us) for safety. I couldn't reach Jay and neither could he. He said he'd come anyway in the afternoon to explain the changes but never showed or called. No proactive call from the company today either about the missed job. Jay and the surprise installer guy were both nice enough but this is a terrible way to do business. They asked for another $1200 to get it to code and said they were told it didn't need to pass. Now the heat doesn't work in two of the three bedrooms. I own a newer 2-story 3200 sq ft. house in Sharon Heights, Menlo Park. I interviewed 3 HVAC firms before deciding on Keep It Flowing Mechanical. They replaced a 3-ton Carrier condenser (leaks, bad compressor) with a new 3-ton R410 system (condenser and coil). Their price was very competitive, and their service was spectacular. Also, they noticed several improper installation issues with the duct work and furnace and resolved those issues. My furnace stop working completely (no air blowing out, but there seem to be flame inside the furnace), so I found Jay through the craigslist ad. I should have check Yelp review before calling this guy. The only positive is he makes Sunday appointment and gives a "free" diagnostic inspection. Remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch.... So he came in and took some of the panels of the furnace. He was telling me the panel is hot, which is not a good sign. Then he spend some time poking around with his flashlight and then told me that the furnace has a "crack heat exchanger" and that it should be repair immediately may cause CO2 to leak. Repairing it would cost as much as replacing the entire unit and advice me to replace the entire unit. He quoted me a price of a new price and left. Since it is high cost and the fact that my furnace is probably 7 to 8 years old, it probably doesn't need replacement. So I called TFF HVAC (Tony) and he came in and diagnosed the problem. It is NOT a cracked heat exchanger as stated by Jay, but simply a bad circuit board and a limit switch. It only cost me $100 in parts. Horrible, first off came out the first time without the promised courtesy phone call 1/2 hour before and showed up at the wrong time. Then they called to re-schedule the estimate for the next day. First "technician" came out to estimate job. He said he would call his supervisor & have an estimate minutes after looking at the scope of work. his supervisor, Mike, then called and gave an estimate for a heating system only, I told him I needed heat & AC as discussed with his estimator. Next call from Mike & the quote went up $2500. Mike then said the start date of the job could fit my schedule of the day after thanksgiving no problem. He said his lead man would come out next and look at the job again, collect the deposit, make a material list, & mark where I needed to core a hole through the side of the building. When his lead man (Al) arrived he first started off by mentioning the incorrect start date. I corrected him as to the date I was promised and he immediately started complaining that they were not working that day. He looked at the job repeatedly and kept fumbling with the electrical panels saying he needed to know how much they could handle. I mentioned three times how much my panel was rated for and he kept looking at it. Al told me where to put the hole and kept mentioning that he probably can't get parts on the date of my install if something goes wrong. Kept asking to re-schedule it.Subsequent calls to Mike he assured he had crews ready to do the work on the agreed date. During all this I had a worker hired to core the hole and was in the process of doing it. Al then said he would see me on the agreed date & did not want to accept my deposit stating it will be taken when they come to start the work. I should have cut ties there as they obviously did not want my business. I Called Mike & he said all was good to go. Next call I get at 2;30pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Mike calls to tell me the "wrong" size unit is in stock. I ask what is wrong about it and he fumbles the answer he doesn't know. At this point it is painfully obvious his workers will not come out on Black Friday to start the job, Mike & I engage in dialogue about the job & the fact I made arrangements with other shared business to get access ad do the work and it ends with him hanging up on me & telling me to hire another contractor. Further phone calls went unanswered. read more
