I came to Keep It Cut for a free haircut at a Yelp event. One thing I really liked about the place is that it was very spacious. Most barber shops are more crowded and feel like you can barely breathe. The lady who cut my hair was extremely friendly and from St. Louis. The haircut is always enjoyable and easier when the stylist is very friendly. I'm not a hairy guy, but man does my hair grow FAST. Some guys can keep a haircut looking fresh for 2-3 weeks, but not me. I need my hair cut every 7-10 days to look on point. So when I first heard about an unlimited haircut membership for under $30/month, I was pretty much sold as long as they did a good job. Now, this place is different than a barber shop. The stylists are able to cut hair and give you a shampoo and style, but they won't be giving you a shave or straight-edge razoring any of your lines. You'll still need to go to a barber shop if that's the level of service you're looking for. But for what they offer, I really like Keep it Cut. All of the stylists are good, but once you find one that you like, I recommend going back to that same one so you can have a consistent cut. You can use their app to see if your stylist is working and check-in before you get to the shop. In addition to the great pricing, the ambiance is pretty cool. They have (clean) hip hop playing, a modern/industrial design, garage doors that open when the weather is nice, and a selection of products by Crew. If you're a guy and you get your haircut regularly and don't need the extra level of service that comes from seeing a barber, this is a great option for you. And don't be cheap, leave a nice tip for the stylists. read more

I have to get my hair styled at least twice a month to maintain a tight skin fade, and I have friends that go every week. Their user friendly app to book appointments offers such ease to finding the stylist and time that fits your schedule. Big fan! I've been a member for 5 months now and get a haircut roughly once a month... still worth the membership. The strongest reason that I like their membership model is that going out for a haircut no longer feels like a commitment (in terms of both cost and style). I'd rather pay the haircut price for the month and have the option of 2 haircuts as needed, rather than paying each time for an uncertain haircut! (Literally describing the benefits of a Subscription business model). Every stylist is reliably skilled and I don't have to worry about getting a bad cut. Reservations are in 20 minute time slots and is readily available each day! The only downside is that you can make reservation for that day (and not for future dates) which is fine... it would result in more no-shows anyway. read more

I will take blame for just searching "barbershop" on yelp and assuming that whatever came up would truly be a barbershop. There's a lot to like about this place: they're very friendly, accommodating, nice environment, they have a great monthly deal on haircuts. However, just be aware that this might not be a true barbershop (aka I don't think the girl who cut my hair has gotten that certification). I could tell by the technique she used, unfortunately I was so wrapped up in our wonderful conversation that I wasn't really paying attention to the final product. This place gets 3 stars. It's not bad by any means at all, but you can certainly find a better gentleman's haircut for the same price point ($19 + tip). That's all I'm saying, in the most objective way that I can. read more

My boyfriend has been a member for a while after I found them and he kept going to multiple different barbers who charge an arm and a leg for a so so cut. At first it took a while to find a stylist that didn't leave a little left around the ears but now he sees the shop manager and she is amazing. Well worth every penny and truthfully more. I have been a member for just over three months so I have spent a fare share of time here but today is the last. First get used to using their app to check in because if you don't you will be waiting and waiting and waiting some more some days. I however don't use the app I just go and check in and wait lol. Second the stylus I have had never really had a connection with just meaningless chatter same old stuff how's your weekend any plans blah blah blah. Ok fine not a deal breaker but they could at least smile when you walk in the door and say hello and pretend to be happy to see you. But they don't it's like walking into a small office and everyone is straight faced and whispers. Third I swear they don't look or remember what you came in for I pay for a wash and cut because I hate those little hairs that seem to get over you after you leave so when I check in I click wash and cut yet 3 times I didn't get a wash and I'm not one to say hey, I'm paying for a wash too. I also tip at least 12.00 every time so you think they would at least remember the hair cut or if you get a wash lol. Number four if you do happen to get a wash the chairs absolutely suck the most uncomfortable chair I ever sat in Go here and try it out for yourself if you don't believe me. Being new to the area I was really disappointed in this place and I makes me really miss my old place back home. What initially drew me in was the interior decor. I was in the plaza waiting on a table at a neighboring restaurant so I stopped in to see what this place was. The stylist that had just closed up shop was friendly and told me they offered $15 cuts and $23 monthly unlimited cuts. Sounds awesome. I decided to stop in today for a cut. The first thing I noticed was that only one other person was there receiving a cut. I sign in and use the restroom. Exiting the restroom I can't help but see into the employee break room and notice two stylists just hanging out. So I take a seat in a waiting chair and wonder what I'm waiting for at all when there are two people sitting down in the back room. After a few minutes Frances came and asked if I was ready. I couldn't help but ask if she was ready. Now I'm about to sit in the chair and notice the hair all over the floor from the previous cut. I was reluctant to sit before she cleaned it up. Then I notice the hair all over the seat from the previous cut. So I asked her to please clean it off. She said "Sorry, its been a busy day." I wondered what she meant by "busy" since, like I said, there was only one other customer in the shop. Today is Mother's Day, keep in mind. She then countered her own statement by telling me she was just finishing a smoothie in the break room. Wow! Must be swamped! It's my assumption that stylists should clean their station between each cut. I was very disappointed that I had to ask to sit in a clean chair. Pretty much everywhere I looked in the station was covered in hair. Not my hair. Now time for the cut. She asked how I like it. I tell her, and three minutes later she's done. Very sub-par cut. I've had better cuts at corporate chains. Plain and simple. It was also awkward when it came time to pay. It felt weird to be asked how much I'd like to tip. I like writing the tip amount on a paper receipt but this is not the case here. Frances seemed offended when I told her I would like to tip $1 and said "excuse me?" as if she hadn't just delivered a Super Cuts standard cut and customer service. Quite simply, I will not go back. I'm very pleased with my current stylist but Keep It Cut drew me in with their $15 cut and fancy interior decor. The old saying is true, If it ain't broke don't fix it. read more

I did end up trying out the barber shop and I liked my haircut but I must say it kinda seems like this barber shop specializes in more touch-ups on your hair since they offer unlimited haircuts if you purchase a membership. I really wanted a full cut but it seemed like my stylist was just wanting to make it a little shorter and she seemed a little rushed. Maybe I should have just been more transparent, but overall I would probably go again I'm just not sure if I would take full advantage of their membership since I usually only get a haircut every other month. read more

I stopped in to Keep it cut the other day while shopping at Sprouts. I was immediately greeted by one of the very friendly stylists. She sat me down within 10 minutes ( they were pretty busy too) and explained that they are doing a " free haircut promotion" to try them out for the month of September. She did a great job with the haircut even sold me on the product she used to style my hair with.They have a few different monthly membership options which are pretty unique, I have never run across this type of pricing before. Long story short I chose the $23 dollar cut and wash option. Great deal since you can come as many times as you like for a touch up. Overall, great experience. The salon also has a very laid back atmosphere with urban decor and chill Indie hip/hop music playing. Pretty sure you wont hear any Robin Thicke on the rotation so this was a huge plus. Keep It Cut in Phoenix is probably the only salon I know of that has done monthly memberships for all the haircuts one could want, and it makes sense! I sport a mohawk and I love to have my sides freshly buzzed at all times. With the membership, I always look fresh and pristine. The membership may be a big part of the overall experience, but it would be nothing without the personable and friendly stylists that are the face of the store. I decided to visit this store based on all of the 5-star reviews I read for Keep It Cut. When I entered, I was greeted and directed to check in using the iPad by the door. The waiting area was spacious and the store provided free wifi. These little touches were nice and much appreciated. The wait wasn't long and I was soon sitting in the barber's chair. My barber asked what I was looking for and checked a few times to make sure she was on the right path. I was pleased with the final product and felt that she did a good job cutting my hair to my specifications. Overall, my visit was a positive one. My second visit, about a month later, was similarly smooth. I was pleased with all of the amenities the store offered, particularly the free wifi. The entire haircut visit was short -- I was in and out in just 30 minutes (including wait time). This is nice for when I want a quick haircut, but it also made me feel as though my hair wasn't getting the personal attention it had received at previous haircutteries. I expect, though, as I continue to visit and get to know the barbers, the personal attention will grow. read more

I've been a loyal customer for over three years, but the continuous struggles related to cheap, unreliable technology this business chooses to use may change that. This business is a great idea that is very poorly executed from a technology perspective. As a customer, in order to book an appointment for which I pay a monthly fee, I am forced to set an alarm for 8:59am everyday and frantically mash that check in button until it finally allows me through (usually around 9:04am or so), but that varies as well - adding yet another fun dimension to this game. Once in you make it to a screen that lists available times for each stylist - but this list is deceiving! Choose wisely - it will take a few seconds to load your choice and will often indicate that during that time someone else has taken that window. Oh, also, every other window is gone as well, try again tomorrow! Needless to say, more days than not I am unsuccessful in booking a haircut. I can sometimes slip in if I cut off some of the extra services I pay a higher monthly fee for, but this doesn't always work, and kind of sucks when it does. Every day last week I did this little song and dance - to no avail. Every timeout tried, my stylist was booked completely for the day within seconds of the app finally waking up (Generally several minutes late). On Friday the app was unresponsive longer than normal - almost 10 minutes! I called in, hoping I could tell someone my struggles to make an appointment every single day this week and they could help manually book me, but no such luck. I was told that it was a new policy not to make manual appointments for my stylist (maybe I'm not the only one with this problem?) Add to the list of problems that this business can't seem to keep their phone lines up for any appreciable amount of time, and you've got a stew baby. Seriously - as I type this I'm unable to call every location in the valley - this is insane, it is 2019. Feedback for Jacob- take a serious look as the tech you've chosen to use for your company. Take it from someone who has been with you for years and slogged through it all the same. You've got talented people working for you, and a great idea- however, the things I listed above make for a shit experience for your customers and reflects poorly on you and your business. read more

Turns out, it wasn't what I thought, and we were just checking in. Even still, the industrial decor and Studio 54 vibe made me immediately ask for a whiskey double, but either alcohol is not served here, or the old woman who got in her car and drove away was not the bartender. 10:00am appointment with Adams for myself. She assures me that my son can wreak havoc in the background and I can just pay for the damages afterwards. The haircut is great. The shampoo is heavenly. My left eye's still twitching from the scalp massage. The delightful banter and eye contact from Adams makes me want to book a cruise, but I just don't know if we're ready yet. 10:30ish appointment for Ron. He'll be 4 this weekend. Hates haircuts. Loves skeletons. Adams is not deterred. She reassures Ron with "well aren't you handsome?." Which is sweet but....Wait a second. Was I not handsome? Anyways, I give Adams a 2 minute window before he tears up or throws himself on the floor in defeat. Clippers, scissors, trimmers...the boy barely twitches. Longest haircut he's ever had, and he's fine. I call my mother and tell her she can blow out the prayer candle. We're going to make it. Adams check us out. She says "$29/month and you can come see me every week." I empty my wallet onto the counter, unashamed that most of my money is loose change. I always call ahead to see how busy they are, Jesse does my hair and I like the way he cuts my hair and spends time getting me the Hair cut that I like. Everyone there at Keep it Cut is very friendly and the place is clean and hip. I travel 25 miles one way just so I can get a hair cut there once a week.
