We purchased a home with our first pool and was told by the Home Inspector that the pool equipment was old and will need to be replaced soon. After a few months, our single speed pump broke at the same time as the Heater. We used our Home Warranty to have it fixed. The company that the Warranty company used was awful. After a few weeks of broken equipment and no pool circulation we decided to just replace all the equipment as recommended. We called Leslies Pool Supply to get a quote. In-store, they gave us a quote for equipment and install and then scheduled a consult to verify the equipment that was needed. When someone called to confirm the appointment, they notified us of a charge just come out to look at our equipment. This was not explained to us in the store which was frustrating enough to look elsewhere. I found "Keep It Clean Pool Services" on a Yelp search. I called 5 different companies and Keep It Clean Pool Services was the only one who answered. I got a call back from 3/5 companies several days later. Keep It Clean Pool Services came out SAME DAY to take a look at our system and recommend upgrades. Within a week, we were up and running with all new equipment, and we even had them add Automation and LED colored lights to our Pool/Spa. Do not hesitate on hiring this company for your pool service needs. I originally contacted KICPS to diagnose a pool lighting problem I had. They discovered my lights were not powering up due to a faulty GFI. I was quoted a month earlier I had to replace all light to the tune of $3500+!!! These guys not only saved $3500, they showed me they can be trusted. I asked what they would charge to clean my pool and they were $75 more than my current guy,however I went with them nonetheless. This review is long overdue and I hope Jim and Greg will forgive me for my procrastination. The other reason is perhaps I wanted to wait a few months to make sure all the work done stood up to what we asked for. A year ago after purchasing an old home with a pool and all of its original pump, hot water heater components, they conveniently gave out and of course home owners insurance was a nightmare to deal with. We decided to upgrade. After calling a few companies, Keep It Clean was one of the few who kept its promise to have someone come out to take a look. Jim was punctual, communicative, knowledgeable, and personable. He was up front and no BS with what we needed, no more-no less. He did not up-sale and rather give us options to pick the best products we wanted. The rest was easy. Jim and Greg kept us informed when and how the work was going to be done and what to expect. Everything went perfectly without a hitch. He even made sure we took advantage of the rebate offer from SDGE for the speed pump at the time. Fast forward to almost a year later, we thoroughly enjoy the dependable pump and heater for our jacuzzi and pool every single time we fire them up for usage. I started using these guys 1st week of June and on the first week, they did something that the previous company (Ambar pool service) had neglected to do in the 2 1/2 years that we've had our pool. They cleaned the filters which had been causing ALL SORTS of other issues including; weak spa jet pressure, constantly high PH levels, water features not working, and the list goes on....Now mind you, this is something that should be cleaned every 3-6 months according to the usage, but I would have never known that if it weren't for these guys that stepped in at the right time. It's a family-owned business and I can already tell you I wont be needing anyone else for as long as I have my pool! Customer service is A1 and the response time is within a few minutes. Had service for a few months but had many issues, pool guy would constantly damage my pool hoses , even when I bought them new, at one time 3 new hoses were destroyed in same visit, constantly problems with programming the pump. Another time the pool cleaner was removed and the caterpillar Rubber tracks were off , just hanging so for days the pump was working but no cleaning was done until I noticed it. I had to fix it myself. When I finally called him to complain (second time) he jest said " I am stopping service" instead of making it right. The pool chemical treatments were always good but unfortunately I had other issues. read more

All of them have fallen short, missing service some weeks. I travel extensively, so don't always know if they've serviced pool or not, until returning home to find they've let pool turn green. Well, count this as my first ever review on Yelp. Why? I have finally had my Goldilocks experience with Keep it Clean Pools. Seems like a simple thing to hire a pool service to take care of your pool, right? If it has been for you, good on you. That hasn't been my luck for the past 5 years and 5 pool service companies. From no-shows to incompetence, I've had it to my eyeballs with this industry. First going with the lowest bidder (disaster) then hiring the most expensive (that should solve it), expensive disaster. Until I stumbled onto Keep it Clean. Oddly enough, I ran into the owner while pumping gas at Costco. His truck with his company name on it right in front of me. I couldn't resist offering my opinion of his industry. The poor guy just shook his head. "I get that a lot, and I hate it". Said he's been in the biz for 25 years and seen it all. Gave me his card and said if you ever consider another service, call me. I did. And for a year, I've discovered pool service IS a simple thing. He's not the cheapest and far from the most expensive, but he is the BEST! He and his brother care!!!!
