The shawarma is good we went twice in our days in CPH. The staff is really nice and let us try a bit of shawarma before ordering. We don't love lamb (too gamey), but their shawarma is delicious. The kylling is ok but shawarma is better. Fries come out fresh and hot - the best. Lots of different sauce options. Clearly a local favorite too - most everyone who came in seemed to be a local. There was a line going out the door at 2pm, so I knew it would be good. The workers didn't speak English very well, but nonetheless took my order correctly and promptly. I got the Pita Bread Shwarma, and they were very generous with the meat. They were about to put on a white colored sauce, and I stopped to ask them what it was (because I absolutely hate mayo and needed to check what it was), and the worker asked me what kind of sauce I wanted, and proceeded to list about five different ones. I chose the hummus, which was amazing - and I later realized that it was probably supposed to be an extra charge, but they worker didn't charge me any extra. read more

Where to begin. I have eaten a lot of kebabs in most major cities in Denmark. And to be honest this one may be the best there is. The shwarma mix is next level with hvidløg. Seriously, on the way to this spot I was regretting the walk but three bites in and a i was sold. Amazing durum kebab here. Decent kebabs in a quick to-go joint, with a table outside and a "space" inside for about 2-3 to stand and eat - so effectively takeaway. Got the mixed pita (chicken, falafel, shawarma) and was pleased with it. The hot sauces are hot, the pickled veggies are hotter. Had the falafel pita with hummus and it far exceeded expectations! I had all the toppings besides the white sauce and for sure ask for a little spice. This was a great late night quick dinner and really inexpensive which was nice after all the damage copenhagen has done to my wallet! read more

We went here because of the funny name. It means "kebab in town" but you know it also sounds like a country for kebab, with kebab people. Anyway it was so hot and packed when we got in and we didn't understand anything but then we ordered finally. We got our food last, after all the regulars got their stuff before us.... It was all good until... Some gangsters came in. They were dressed like they were from the *blade* movie you know with Wesley snipes, they had black goth hacker gangster clothes and fast sunglasses and they were too excited about getting kepabs one stared punching his fists together. I can't say Kebabistan is the best food I've had, but it left me satisfied and full for a reasonable price -- something I can't say for most of the food I had in Copenhagen. If you want something warm and sizable to eat, come here and get the Turkish bread. The place itself isn't too big, since most people grab it to-go. Don't expect to eat here if you have a large group. If you do eat in, the chili sauce they have on the counters is amazing: hot but not overly numbing, perfect to enhance the flavor of your roll/sandwich. I had the chicken in a Turkish bread roll - I don't normally like bread at all, but this was great. Warm and chewy, definitely added to the overall flavor. After enjoying a couple of drinks with my brother, we were looking for a low-key place to eat some food. We came upon Kebabistan and ordered a couple of the the Shawarma platters. The fellow behind the counter was friendly and cracked a couple jokes with us after learning our primary language was English, with a decent command of Swedish and a poor grasp of Danish. The food was served hot off the grill, lamb was nice and tender, vegetables were also good. It was nice to switch things up with this choice in Denmark and it was easy on our wallets. read more

5 stars not because the shawarma is amazing. 5 stars for effort. This might be the only shawarma shop in the city that cares at all about what they serve. Meat that may actually have come from a lamb. No halal spam. No weird fermented meat product. Fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion & parsley combine to make a sandwich whose only defect is the ubiquitous and inscrutable crème fraîche dressing. Swap that nasty cream dressing for tahina or hummus, maybe throw in some pickles and this place might get 6 stars. read more

Mixed shawarma durum. After traversing Europe and sampling many doner/kebab/shawarma, this one took the crown. Get that spicy sauce.

I went there because I checked the reviews of it. I bought a kebab which cost 45kr , 50% more than normal price, but it does not taste better. The meat is lack of flavor and I can't taste any sauce but chili. Very bad experience :( kind of make me don't trust YELP anymore.) read more

Been here before. Was better the last time. Thought it was bland with too many onions and the salad was not that fresh. Not the best experience, and doubt we will be back. Probably tough, but with the number of other options you must time only get one strike and you are out. read more
