Leading with the positive: The folks are nice who run the place, and they have a big menu. I had the beef shawarma durum and a deep dish pizza.
It's, without doubt, horrible pizza. They have a picture of their "deep pan" pizza on the menu. Be assured you will not be receiving a pizza that looks anything like that. They don't even fix it in a pan, which may foreshadow my next point that it's not deep dish - it's at best a standard crust. And it's not very good. The toppings are worse. We ordered the Delux, and got the "Dallas" - honest mistake. Not entirely sure it would have mattered anyway. The ham on it comes in these unattractive strings and it all just had sort of a sour smell to it. I won't go on further, except to say that the entire collection of store-bought frozen pizzas I've had in my life have all been better than this.
The shawarma wrap was disgusting from the first bite. In a few chews, I started asking myself what I was actually eating. It looked good going together - meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, red cabbage, and sauce. Was kind of looking forward to it after a long day of walking around CPH. The veggies are all more-or-less fine - fresh and crisp. The meat is awful. Chewy, dry, no flavor, and throws off the mouth feel of the whole wrap. I was only able to get about 3 bites in before I couldn't stomach any more and got to wishing I had eaten more at Tivoli earlier. It comes in a tortilla wrap that's not bad, but very thin. It will come apart.
Oh, and this spread of a wrap and a medium sized pizza cost 170 DKK (about $30). Outrageous for the low quality of food.
In a city that goes to sleep early on a Sunday for hygge night, it's really tough to find food after 10pm. Look elsewhere. read more
