Served with rice and tzatziki and salad. Divine! And only 65 kr. In fact I usually ask for just one skewer and they charge me a bit less, like 50 kr (it varies!). It's definitely the best place for a proper sit-down kebab in Valby. Did I mention they have free black tea you can help yourself to after your meal... Suggested improvement: please take away the TVs! They make the place look cheap, ghetto, and nobody comes to a restaurant to watch TV... we can do that at home.

The staff were really nice. I asked for an English menu but they didn't have any but informed me that there is a staff member who is very fluent in English. Luckily my friend knew Danish, so it was no problem. There was quite a variety (doner, platters, sweets, turkish pizza) and prices were pretty standard. I had the lamb kebab while my friend had the chicken shawarma (I think). There was a bit too much fat in the lamb for my liking. It was well seasoned but a little tough to chew. The bulgar was flavorful but dry... I'm a bit disappointed with the food, but somewhat enjoyable. Maybe other options taste better? The restaurant is quite spacious and it looks like there's areas for large groups. They even have outdoor seating for days with nice weather.

Previously, my go-to has been Kebabistan on Istegade, which was closer to my old apartment. Tragically, it's just a little too far away now to justify a quick stop in on the way home, so I was searching for candidates for a replacement. Safir is basically always at least half full of people. On Friday nights, there is a line out the front door. My curiosity finally got the best of me last night and I tried a simple and cheap dish (shawarma salat - 30kr) last night. It was the perfect amount of food, and the meat was very good quality. I would've loved a little more "salat" in the "salat" but I was definitely satisfied at the end of the meal. My dinner dates ordered the half chicken platter, which will get a vicarious thumbs up in this review. I'm also told the ayran is second to none, and a must when eating shawarma, but I went with bottled water. Living life on the edge, always. :) Considering the value and quality for the money you spend, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Meat was small, a bit over cooked, and unimpressive. Fish was ok, but largely saved by the lemon sauce and didn't feel terribly fresh. The jamon and waffle was flavorful and interesting but also rather odd. I wouldn't object to eating here again, but there's much better quality for your money elsewhere. Otto also fails to pass the "will I need to eat a kebab after dinner?" test as well.

Lovely grime-y Euro-comfort food with blues on repeat…read more The decor and atmosphere is certainly blues inspired but run by hipsters. It's grime-y in a charming way but stay away if any grime bothers you. It's dingy on the inside with some nice sidewalk seats, but reeks of old cigarettes either way. Lots of folksjust hanging out for some drinks and people watching. For this they had high chairs and baby friendly. The service is great. They give of the air of not GAF but are actually attentive and charming. Food came or relatively quickly on a Friday night which was good with a hungry child. They were happy to explain things on the menu and even suggested a few things for substitution. Funnily everyone comes into the restaurant, loclas and tourirsts alike, acting confused where to sit or if there's a queue and after a dramatic pause the barkeep tells them to sit wherever and right on. The food was good. The menu looks very basic and doesn't do the food justice. The 3 salads accompanying each meal are listed without description or fanfare. You don't know which ones you'll get. We got four different ones in combination for two entrees. Even the chicken satay we ordered for our little one came with two salad sides. Two out of four were great, the others bland. Each salad is about 1/4 of a cup, fairly small. The sesame seaweed with ginger and heirloom tomato salads rocked. The guacamole (really just smash avocados without seasoning) and cabbage salad (no dressing, plain with two honeyed almonds on top) were uninspiring. We got the Manilla tofu and beef lasagna as the main dishes. The Manilla tofu was cooked just right with great sauce and an ample portion of protein compared to your average Nordic experience. The beef lasagna was decadent. It was more reminiscent of mousaka than lasagna, cheesy, pillowy, creamy, and very thin Al dented pasta. Not a whole lot of meat but very flavorful and filling. The drink list was pretty good. I had a nice primotivo for only 55 Kr. Whole bottles are reasonable finds at good prices. They also serve half bottles I'm carafes. Good brew selection too. Prices were fair for the fare. Much less expensive than many surrounding restaurants. Overall, great spot. Good to hang or eat. Not pretentious but just good enoufh food.

The restaurant is very small and was filled with locals when we dined (9pm-ish on a Friday night). My husband ordered the gyros and the plate included meat, fried potatoes, rice, hummus, and something else which escapes my mind. The plate DID NOT include pita which we found slightly strange. The hummus is some of the best I have had and the salt on the potatoes was delicious. I know, salt. Delicious. But it was and it's a bit pathetic that the salt is part of my memory of this restaurant. Service was good - run by the owner. Menus are available in English and the owner spoke English, so no communication problems here! A nice, quaint restaurant where you can enjoy a quiet night out and stay as long as you want without feeling rushed.

I give this place 5 stars because it was (no question) the best durum kebab I have had in Denmark…read moreso far. I am therefore rating only the durum kebab I got and nothing else. Fast order, pleasant shawarma master, clean display, clean interior, nothing to complain about. The durum wrap itself was really delicious, baked after I ordered. Meat had a very good flavour with a lot of spices dominating the taste which is correct for my taste (since it's in most cases lamb which has a very strong odour). They added some salad, tomatoes, pickled cabbage, onions and some jalapeños along with a creme fraiche dressings and my durum kebab was ready. Price was 39DKK which is probably slightly more than other shawarma bars around Norrebro but totally okay with me and it is worth it. Since I am in the area quite often, I will most likely be back very fast. That was my first time at this place and certainly not last.
