This was a local shawarma restaurant smacked in the middle of a shoping district. My boyfriend and I were skeptical at first but we're both glad that we tried it out. The meat was plentiful, tasty and succulent for the prices they were charging. Also, the table supplied you with this red pepper sauce that MUST be applied to the meat or you will most definitely regret it. The bread was bread and the atmosphere had a hustle and bustle vibe to it. Overall, the meat was what made this experience worth it.

The Shawarma sandwich here was delicious, the meat was nice and juicy, the bread soft, and the sauces all came together really well. But the best part? That red chili sauce! It tasted like roasted tomatoes blended with chilies, because it was both sweet and comforting while also being hot! Definitely took the sandwich to a whole new level!

Awesome place Very affordable prices Huge portions Everything made fresh to order...kabob takes 15 min. Dont hurry if you come here Best not dry falafel we've ever had Chicken kabob was amazing

This was BOMB. Delicious fries. Falafel pita with hummus. Red sauce on table makes it even better!!!

Just landed in Copenhagen and had to go to Shawarma Grill for a bite ti eat and a beer. I got the falafel pita with hummus instead of dressing, fries, and a beer. That was sooooo good! The people there are so nice. The bathroom is super clean. Great place to get some good authentic food!

nothin like lebanese food on my first night in copenhagen. arrived in the evening and was hungry so decided to talk a walk and see what we can find. was told most kitchens close at 10pm...we started walking like 910pm. walked to the city center and saw several places still open for tourists...like kfc, burger king ...lol. saw and smelled grill meat from the shawarma grill and decided...bam! thats where we are going! nothing will beat grilled meat and hummus on a warm copenhagen night. anyways, ordered the shawarma sandwich ( sorry forgot a pict - but it was basically a pita bread stuffed to the brim with sliced juicy beef, lettuce, tomato and shawarma sauce. next..tried the lamb kebab platter with hummus , lettuce salad and fries....then the shawarma meat platter...sliced beef , with hummus, lettuce salad...and 4 whole pita breads. the beef platter was huge and awesome ( approx $20-cad). thinly sliced strips of juicy beef from the huge shawarma grill and the hummus with the oil and lettuce. yummy! it was huge and filling. the best was the grilled lamb kebab. took 10 mins but was amazing! perfectly seasoned and marinated, grilled to juicy and tender perfection. not chewy not stringy, simply tender and succulent. it puts to shame lamb kebabs from greek places in vancouver. only thing was service..no real line to line up. cashier was loud lol. tables werent cleaned that fast... but overall, i will go back for sure. quality of the food was awesome. there were people coming in past 10pm...tells you how awesome this place is.

Shawarma Menu (78 Kroners) Includes pita sandwich, fries, and soda.

Copenhagen's (If not Denmark's) top Shawarma place is located right in the heart of the city at the start of the walking street known as 'Stroget'. Lunch, dinner, or a late night snack ... this place fits the bill. The two pictures that I've included in this post are actually taken 4 years apart, but you could never tell because they stay consistent and don't stray from outside of their zone -- which is producing top quality shawarma sandwiches. Depending on the time of day, the line can either be out the door or not, but these guys are quick and you will be serviced fairly quickly. If you are alone, grab the Shawarma menu which includes a pita sandwich, drink and fries for 78 Kroners or about $12 USD. The reason why I like this place is because they are always so busy that the meat you get for your sandwich is fresh, and you'll notice them constantly shaving meat from their standup grill. The fries are made to order, and coated in a fresh salt that gives them the perfect taste. Always mayo for a side in Denmark, not even sure if they have Ketchup. I recommend getting the fanta, it must be the sugar they use because it taste 100X better than fanta in the U.S.A. They do also have beer if you prefer. Don't forget to take advantage of the red chili sauce at each table, and be prepared to sweat as it is very hot, but deliciously tasty. No meal is complete without it! All in all -- this place is a great visit during your stay in Copenhagen, you'll see a nice mix of locals and tourists, but all the staff speak English and are super friendly. I would never eat Shawarma at any other establishment, and highly recommend you check this place out on your visit to stroget.

My partner and I were trying to find good food for dinner. So we followed the suggestions from yelp. We came to this restaurant with a half self-service. But the food was really good. We have tried many Turkish-Arabian food before. The Shawarma we had was very delicious. This became one of the restaurants we like. Really well done. Wirklich sehr gut!

Nothing special, but it's a decently fast tourist place when you're super hungry and just want some fast food. The shawarma meat was so salty and dry. I could get this anywhere in any cafe in the US, so obviously nothing impressive. There was more salad than meat in my sandwich :/ would I come back here? Nah, so many places to try in Copenhagen! Only go here for some quick eats. The staff here is nice though, and gave us the wifi password when we asked for it. Free wifi!

Very tasty food. A lot of yelp reviewers agree. Glad we trekked out there. Enjoyed the Shawarma sandwich with fries.

Lovely grime-y Euro-comfort food with blues on repeat…read more The decor and atmosphere is certainly blues inspired but run by hipsters. It's grime-y in a charming way but stay away if any grime bothers you. It's dingy on the inside with some nice sidewalk seats, but reeks of old cigarettes either way. Lots of folksjust hanging out for some drinks and people watching. For this they had high chairs and baby friendly. The service is great. They give of the air of not GAF but are actually attentive and charming. Food came or relatively quickly on a Friday night which was good with a hungry child. They were happy to explain things on the menu and even suggested a few things for substitution. Funnily everyone comes into the restaurant, loclas and tourirsts alike, acting confused where to sit or if there's a queue and after a dramatic pause the barkeep tells them to sit wherever and right on. The food was good. The menu looks very basic and doesn't do the food justice. The 3 salads accompanying each meal are listed without description or fanfare. You don't know which ones you'll get. We got four different ones in combination for two entrees. Even the chicken satay we ordered for our little one came with two salad sides. Two out of four were great, the others bland. Each salad is about 1/4 of a cup, fairly small. The sesame seaweed with ginger and heirloom tomato salads rocked. The guacamole (really just smash avocados without seasoning) and cabbage salad (no dressing, plain with two honeyed almonds on top) were uninspiring. We got the Manilla tofu and beef lasagna as the main dishes. The Manilla tofu was cooked just right with great sauce and an ample portion of protein compared to your average Nordic experience. The beef lasagna was decadent. It was more reminiscent of mousaka than lasagna, cheesy, pillowy, creamy, and very thin Al dented pasta. Not a whole lot of meat but very flavorful and filling. The drink list was pretty good. I had a nice primotivo for only 55 Kr. Whole bottles are reasonable finds at good prices. They also serve half bottles I'm carafes. Good brew selection too. Prices were fair for the fare. Much less expensive than many surrounding restaurants. Overall, great spot. Good to hang or eat. Not pretentious but just good enoufh food.

I personally am not a fan of buffets but my husband is Lebanese-Armenian & doesn't mind buffets & always wants Lebanese food when it's an option. I was a little apprehensive when we walked in because the hostess & waitresses were Swedish, but then I heard Arabic music & noticed the staff coming in/out of the kitchen to stock the food was speaking Arabic so I knew the food would be ok. My favorite items were the wrapped grape leaves & mini desserts. My grandmother & aunts used to make a lot of the same desserts so the flavors were very nostalgic & comforting. I can also appreciate how they had managed to make tiny delicate bite sized portions of each. I was impressed by that because these desserts are so intricate & difficult to make so making them into tinier pieces can't be easy. We had a lovely meal at Laziza and enjoyed our visit.

One of the guests was finishing food at 12:10 when we were approached by the waitress telling that the restaurant has 1 hr dine-in policy. Then the same waitress came back after 2 minutes telling me that "I have guests waiting outside." I was never aware of this policy and if this is a new one, no one told us at the cashier (By the way, the lady at the cashier was more accommodating). I was embarrassed that we were the only table and customers treated that way. This is frustrating that the waitress at Dockan branch was mainly targetting us and I was embarassed by this attitude with other customers looking at us. Also, we found that seats outside were available. I hope that the restaurant can look into this and train the staff to communicate properly with guests. Your food is no doubt highly recommended and other staff were warm and polite. However, this waitress telling us customers (who were obviously chewing last spoonful of food and the other having coffee) to leave the place twice in a span of 2 minutes was very rude. We left the place around 12:15.

We've been invited by Danish business partners and strictly speaking everybody is invited by the chefs. The restaurant is situated in an apartment on the first floor (thus the name) and there is no sign on the outside indicating that the somewhat shabby building accommodates such a gem. The restaurant seats up to 20 guests and you need to make reservation in advance. (As I understood, with your reservation you are paying a fixed price which covers everything for 1350 DK / approx. EUR180 p.P.). Please communicate any limitation such as allergies when making your reservation. At the evening, dinner starts for all guests at 18:30. The kitchen is open and the chefs are not only cooking but also at the same time serving the food. I'm wondering how they managed to keep the kitchen so tidy They always explain what is being served and with each course (in total 7-8 courses) goes a different wine covering the whole range from white to red, heavy to light, fruity sweet to sour dry. The food is high quality and surprises with unusual combinations that are nicely arranged. After the very special meal coffee and sweets are served in the library where you are listening to music from an old record player! To sum it up: special, authentic, comfortable, yummy EXCELLENT!
