I have tried a couple of these stands on route to Filene's, but have found this particular stand to stand out from the rest in terms of hygiene and turn over. Their Italian sausage hot dogs ($5) are really, really tasty. The fragrant (spiced with fennel) and cylindrical piece of meat is grilled to perfection with a slightly crisp skin; resulting in an audible "pop" upon sinking one's incisors within. They are topped with grilled sweet onions and peppers; a distinctively delicious scent that I can pick up 2 blocks away. I always gobble up the onions in mad delight - and this comes from someone who's hated onions all her life. Did I mention the extremely friendly and courteous hot dog vendor? He always hands you the dawg with a smile and is proud of his little stand.

On the Macy's side of Summer Street, I spied a new (to me) food cart with the word "AREPA"…read moreemblazoned on all sides situated across from the Summer Street entrance to the Downtown Crossing T stop. Curious about their "sweet corn patties with mozzarella cheese" which were grilled on site (but seemingly bought packaged), I stopped despite the fact that I had recently consumed my lunch. For $4, I received a 'sandwich' wrapped in foil with a paper napkin cushioning my hand against the heat of the contents. It was about 4 inches in diameter, and fully heated through. It was reminiscient of a corny grilled cheese or a corny sauceless pizza. Since, hobbit-like, it was my 2nd mid-day meal, I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing, but then I figured it wouldn't reheat in a microwave all that well... It was a nice snack, but it is priced a little high to make it as a regular snack destination for me... more like a special sometime treat. PS - it is noted on the cart that the arepas are Gluten-Free.

The cheese must have been sitting out for a few days because it was so dry it wouldn't melt. Also the vendor was a huge dick to me. Got mad about me paying by card for a $6 order (that I'm 90% sure was advertised as $5) and mansplained credit card transactions to me. I was so jarred that I asked for my card back but he insisted on completing the transaction while complaining about cars payments the entire time. Do NOT eat here. You will regret it. If curious, this was the cart across from Boston Public Library.

As an adult I now eat tacos and burritos several times a week and now I feel like I should be called Mr Taco again. Because I eat this food so much, I feel like I am a good judge of burritos and tacos. With all that being said, I really enjoy this food. It is made fresh and is super tasty. Their hot sauce is flavorful but not too hot where you lose the flavor. They also put the correct amount of each item on their food. You go to some of these chain restaurants, and you are eating 90% rice and 8% cheese and 2% meat. Here they a great blend of veggies, cheeses, meats. As I mentioned above, I eat a lot of Mexican food and when I am in the Back Bay Area I only eat at this place. I have tried the rest of the fast food Mexican places in the mall and the surrounding area, and nothing comes close to them. I would have given them 5 stars, but they only take cash. Come on, it's 2018 you should take credit cards. If they took credit cards I'm sure they would have to get a double wide food cart because of all the extra business. Mr. Taco man out

The space is really nice, clean, and very nostalgic, it gives old school 90s Brasil vibes, iykyk! There is limited parking right in front of the restaurant with their food truck taking up half the spots. There were no staff present when we walked in, they were in the back, so we went up and ordered using the tablets. While convenient, I find this set up super impersonal. The food, 1 burger, 2 pressed hotdogs, and fries, took longer than we expected 20-25 mins. Once we did interact with the staff, they were super friendly! Now for the food, fries were way over salted, we had to wipe them off using napkins. Burger meat and bun were dry, the patty was also really salty. The pressed hotdogs were fine but they changed the hot dog they use and it wasn't our preference. The homemade mayo was really nice. While the sandwiches are substantial, given the quality, they're expensive when compared with similar options in the area. Overall, not as good as we remembered though I would recommend for the close to what you'd find in Brasil, authentic experience. We hope they can get back to what made them so special when they first started!

As a true BC Eagle, I had my first Che-Chi's hotdog on a drunken weekend night as I stumbled across the holy St. Ignatius Church. I didn't remember a thing from the possibly wonderful party that night, I didn't know where the heck I actually got the money from, and god knows (literally) where I was going wondering around Comm ave at that hour, BUT, I DO remember the divine tastiness of my first Che-Chi's hotdog. Ever since that first bite, I was hooked like a serious addict and I would wait for the Che-Chi dudes to visit campus each weekend and get a nose full of the fresh grill smell of hotdog, chicken, sausages....etc with the peppers and onions... and then i'd have to take some time to decide which sandwich I should go for, it's always a struggle. Some cool things about this hotdog stand is that, a) Che-chi's make their own secret sauce for the sandwiches and I have no idea what this secret mix is (even when I am sober, I promise, I usually am), but it's a perfect balance of hot, sweet, salty, smokey and tanginess all in one. b) They sometimes give you a free bottle of beverage with any sandwich purchase, which I think is a great deal around Fenway park. Che-Chi's is definitely one of the fondest memory of my BC days.

I kept checking daily for cancelations and signing up and after a few missed opening, I was lucky to snatch a reservation that opened up due to cancellation. This was a restaurant that my husband had wanted to try so I was diligently checking for cancelation before his surgery. We were so lucky to go just before he had surgery with the children. The restaurant does not have parking, however there is street parking. The vibe was lively and the staff were amazing during our visit. We tried a number of dishes but hands down my two favorite was the Black Sea cornbread and the fried chicken. I would totally order these again in a subsequent visit. You can let the waitress who serve you know that you want the fried chicken as it is not on the menu for ordering. The children enjoyed their lamb kothe sliders. We tried the warm gyro bread and the avocado muhummara. I think for a first time, it was worth getting. If visiting a second time, I would try something else though. Same for the octopus souvlaki, would try only once. The Tunisian brik tacos, which has tuna, was slightly on the salty side. We actually didn't finish this as well as the Brussels sprout bravas. Key takeaway, book a reservation but also check back for cancellations because they do turn up and you can sign up for emails to be notified of cancellations. Service and atmosphere are great. The cornbread and fried chicken are musts!!! See my pictures.
