These guys are the BEST!!! I've been getting pedicures for decades and the problem is all the best places get bought out and stop being the best. My last favorite got bought out and my favorite staff moved somewhere else. So I was bouncing around for a while...then I found KB nails! The location is convenient for me. The ladies there like me and they do a great job. The pedicure is a great value too. I recommend the deluxe. It includes massage, paraffin wax, and hot towel wrap. If you get color, it's a little extra for gel, but it lasts longer. I've never had it not last till my next pedicure. Went in last Saturday for the first time and really enjoyed my experience! The place is clean and kept tidy. I called and they were able to get me in that day which I greatly appreciated! The last salon I was going to before destroyed my nails; I was getting dip and was having to go almost every week cause my nails were breaking and ripping which was weird because dip is supposed to keep your nails strong! Kim did my nails and she recommended that I do a clear dip and then do gel polish over it and to come in to do fills instead of doing the full dip process to help get my nails strong again! She put on some acrylics on my broken nails and got my hands looking proper again! I appreciate so much for the advice she gave me and my nails feel stronger than ever! I was a walk-in, late afternoon on a Saturday and asked for a fill and pedicure. The person at the counter called over a nail tech and advised of my service request. Now, I do not speak their language, but her raised voice, hand gestures, and overall body language made it clear she did not want to do any of my services (strike one). I was placed in a chair and an older lady began my pedicure, I cannot remember her name, but she did a good job and was friendly. The reluctant nail tech immediately came over and started on my nails, while I'm in the chair. I hate having my nails done during a pedicure (strike two). Unfortunately, I was in a bind with needing the service done for an event the next day. When the pedicure was complete the nail tech continued with my nails at her station. While doing my fill she started asking questions on where I had my nails done, who did them, and how much I paid (strike three). Overall the salon wasn't very updated in terms of furniture, decor, and equipment. The loud complaining by staff to provide service, off putting and unprofessional, asking how much I paid someone else - tacky. read more

I went in on Friday 7/19 for a pedicure and dip manicure. My manicure guy was Kevin. Forgot the ladies name but she did my pedicure first. My toes were butchered and is still pretty bloody at the end of the day. The lady yanked out what she called "ingrown toenail". However little did she know, she yanked out part of my skin and flesh as well. This also comes after I told her to be careful when she was cutting my toes too close to the skin. How does this nail place stay in business?!!! This is regarding the pedicure. I will be calling in to speak to the owner soon. What's even more concerning is that the lady did not provide me with her name and none of their licenses were displayed or visible to customers. This is the KB nails by the Raleys. Update: I was able to speak to management and they provided a refund for the pedicure and a complimentary future pedicure. A very kind receptionist, Rose, assisted me with the refund however also asked that if there is an issue, customers are encouraged to speak up during the service. I did let the nail tech know about the injury however I did not realize that my toes were going to continue to bleed and be in pain throughout the day. That was the reason why I followed up later. While they provided a refund, they still question their customer's honesty. This is all around an unfortunate experience. I just hope no one else has to go through this. read more

Even though they stay super busy, the wait time is never long and once you're in the chair, it never feels rushed. They take their time on you and make sure you feel relaxed. Probably the worst manicure I've ever gotten. The shape is horrendous and she cut them too short after I said the length was fine. Kept cutting me with the drills after I told her it hurt. Take your money elsewhere. UPDATE: I went in the next day to ask for a soak off since they are so bad and just wanted them off my fingers. She offered to fix them and I said no because I didn't want them to get shorter. She told me it's an extra $20 to get it soaked off. No way I'm spending $55 total for a horrible manicure. read more

Third time was indeed a charm today!! I'm long overdue for some pampering in the form of a mani/pedi!! I think the last time I went to a nail shop was almost 2 Summers ago. I have been doing my own nails since, then COVID pandemic hit... And, y'all already know the story!! I stopped by KB Nails for the first time today. I stopped by 2 other nail salons prior (one being my pre covid regular shop) and they were PACKED with a LONG wait!! I walked right out each time. I got to KB and they were also busy, but, I was comfortable with waiting. Which, I waited no more than 2 minutes before getting into a chair. I'm simple when it comes to my nails. I typically get gel mani/pedis. I don't care for long nails at this point of my life. I had my own nails trimmed and filed down. The tech who assisted me was friendly and had a great sense of humor... Which I love!! I decided on a sparkly color called "cherry bomb" (699) by OPI for my nails. I'm happy with service and the color!! I found my new nail spot!! KBNails is located on Fair Oaks Blvd, off Howe Ave. It's right next to Raley's. They are pretty big in size, which surprised me going in. All employees wore masks. They maintained social distancing and used every other work station or chair. They have these plexiglass/pvc looking barriers they put between you and the nail tech. Which is a nice precaution, but, very awkward to move under. My shins and my forearms kept hitting those damn things when I had to move my feet and hands a certain way. LOL. Buh-bye former nail salon!! KB Nails is my new home now!! read more

I got a delux spa pedi and basic mani. She did not screw my heels enough! They should be so much softer. Bummed! And my nail shape is All over the place. She cut me on my right foot, and that hurts a lot right now. During the pedicure I notice my left shin hurting, she scrubbed a rug burn on my shin! I didn't notice it till now. The basic mani should have left my cuticles looking nice but they just look like they need some oil. Oh, that girl cut me also!! She did a great nail shape. I been coming to this place since this place opened but I want to be honest. My pedicures has been getting worse and worse every time I come. Some of the staff is friendly. Both KB locations are always busy. When you come to this place you want what you're paying for. I noticed I left maybe 5 times since I been going there leaving satisfied with the persons work. I am not easy to please just want what is expected for what you're paying for. KB workers don't all do their service in the same order if selecting same package. I only get the regular pedicure so I understand the other packages have more things which could require the order to be different. When I come here I always mention every time I want my nails short but they never go short because they want me to come back in 2 weeks. So I have to say it again. I want it shorter than what you just did. They question me "shorter" I say "yes, shorter". They then talk among each other in their language which comes off very unprofessional/rude because it comes off they're talking crap about you. This happens every time if you make a comment asking them to do something. When it comes to quality of work. Not good at all. They barely scrub your feet to get all the callus off. I barely get callus except for two places and I always have to ask them to please scrub it off. I always leave there still with callus When I ask them nicely they say I already scrubbed it. Then they do it for another 3 seconds and that is it. Such a joke. There is a place in Mack Road that I would normally go to cause they're seriously the best but it is so far. I may have to go back because this place is taking advantage. Charging me $30 bucks for a quick crappy service. I don't get color or anything just want my feet to look nice, be soft and smooth aka callus free. This is my last time coming back unfortunately. This place keeps getting worse. I've been getting my nails done here for awhile now. The staff has always been nice. The place is clean and has plenty of seats. Walk-ins are welcome, and even though you may need to wait, you won't wait long. This past Sunday I had a gel mani /pedi. They did a great job. I'm not sure what happened, but by Tuesday one of my gel nails stuck to my shoes. I called them as soon as I saw what happened. The gal on the phone was really nice and said come in and they would take care of it. I stopped in tonight and sure enough, they were more than willing to fix the nail. The one negative issue is they're very quick to want to get started but it doesn't give you much time to choose a color especially if you're going to do gel polish. Although, I will say if you don't like the color after one or two nails, they will stop and let you choose another. There was only 1 female employee that I recognized from the old crew. So disappointed! I'm hoping those employees were able to keep their jobs back at to the original location down the street (behind McDonald's). They were always very welcoming, efficient, professional, and personable. My nails always came out beautiful, no matter who worked on them. I've been twice since the ownership change ( I didn't realize the first time...just thought I went on an off time.). The first time my nails came out ok, but it just wasn't the same atmosphere. Second visit, the guy who did my mani seemed disinterested and rushed. The entire vibe of the place and staff was uncomfortable. It's too bad the new ownership can't deliver the same great results or care that I've grown accustomed to from KB Nails. Good pedis, get your dip somewhere else. This is the second time they put on a GEL top coat and I had to stop her before my hand went under the light. I get dip so that my hands WON'T have to go under a UV light. (The first time they asked if I wanted matte, not realizing it was a gel top coat but I went with it and the top coat started peeling off a few days later) My nails weren't buffed after the powder so the nail beds are uneven and bumpy. Also had to sit under the air drier for 10 minutes before finally asking if I was done. They were not smooth so the man working reception buffed them for me again and put on another top coat, but again left me under the drier for 10 minutes. I had dip liquid and powder all over my fingers but he told me it was dry skin and to put oil on it. Normally when I get dip or any manicure anywhere they put on the oil for me at the end... The color on my nails was also completely different than the sample, but I was too far into the process at that point to want to change it. I did explain all of this and voiced my concerns but they still charged me full price and told me that's how it should look. ‍ I'll stick with Noble Nails for my dip. read more

What just happened? I have been to this salon about a year ago and it was ok, not great, so I never went back until today. My sister is due any day and wanted to go here. We arrived and the place itself looks nice and spacious. Masks are option for guests but all employees were wearing them. They seated my sister and myself together. The water was not running into my foot bath and it was about three inches full. My technician told me to put my feet in and then went to get something. It was ice cold. Mixed with the plastic it felt like slimy pond water. She came back and gestured for me to put me feet back in. I said "it's cold and gross". As a former server and current retail leader I am super aware of being kind to people. So me saying that from the gate should have been a gut check. The technician told me that the pipes are cold in the morning but now the water is hot and turned it on to the hottest setting. So now I have boiling hot water on the top of my feet and freezing on bottom. Instead of continuing to make an issue I tried to use my feet to "stir" the water. Some water splashed out and this visibly annoyed my technician. We are literally 2 minutes in. But wait! There's more. I settled in and the massage chairs were on. I think these are great? The random massager that felt like a fist that went into my butt hole was a bit of a surprise. I imagine this particular knob could be a perk depending where it hits? it was just weird but not bad? Back to the technician. I asked her early on to NOT touch ingrown nails. For me, leaving them alone has always allowed me to avoid pain and incorrect regrowth. As she was going at my toes she starts to dig around the side of my toe. I was anxious about this experience already so I asked her to stop. It was hurting and I just wanted it left alone. The tech tells me she is not removing the nail, she is just getting a hang nail. I told her that it was ok to just stop. She continues to dig in same area as I keep telling her to stop. I physically had to lean over and put my hand out and tell her to stop. She stopped but kept trying to tell me she was not going to cut me. I was near tears having to keep saying no and feeling embarrassed. I just said NO thank you. The tech was again visibly frustrated. I get that maybe she was confident she would not hurt me or remove my ingrown. But I asked her to stop touching that side of my toe entirely multiple times. Once should be enough. I am not kidding when I say I felt violated. It was overwhelming and anxiety producing. I wanted to leave but we were at this point only 10 minutes in and my sister needed pampering for sure. I took a breath and tried to focus on chatting with her. Unfortunately it was hard to compete over the loud conversations our 3 technicians were having (my pedicure her pedicure and then she wad also getting nails done by another tech at same time). I do not care that our technicians are chatting but in general the spa experience should be catered to the guests and understanding their needs. We wanted to talk and it felt like we were having to compete with their conversation. In terms of the rest of pedicure. I paid extra for extra massage and I do not know if it actually happened, unless the massage time for Basic Pedicure is 3 minutes. I paid for 10 extra minutes and got 13 total. I dont know. I loves the color. In spite of my tech not being able to cut nails the shape she wanted I think toes look good. The price for Basic is comparable to others and it does the job. So yeah, pedicure is ok but the experience was terrible. I can get the same pedicure but better experience at any other salon. If KB wants to keep clients they should train for service as much as technical skill. *Also, my sister also had some issues but that is for her review if she wants! read more

This place's pedicures have gotten worse. I've been going here for years off and on and today was my first time back in a while and I am so disappointed. The lady seemed to be in a rush although there were barely any customers. My mom and I went at the same time and I was done far before her and when looking at the final results mine were sloppy. The gel polish didn't even cover the whole nail on some and on others it was all over my skin. Called in and was able to make a couples pedicure appointment on the same day. When we arrived for our scheduled time we waited about 10 minutes until we were called back. Overall, this nail salon is huge! Very bright and open + clean. For social distancing precautions they have dividers between each chair and a plastic covering in between (check out my pictures). The pricing is very reasonable for pedicures, ranging from $24-$45 and this pricing includes gel. I would highly recommend the $45 because it included a mask, massage and foot treatment that leaves your feet feeling rejuvenated. Ken is great and does a good job at cleaning the cuticles. I've been looking for a salon closer to home and my bestie recommended KB nails. They are one of the biggest salons I've ever seen. It seemed like a never ending row of pedicure chairs. I called ahead to see how long their wait was and the man told me he could get me in right away and after seeing the size of the salon I understood why. I waited less than 5 minutes before a Sarah came to help me. I've never been to salon where I didn't have to wait atleast 20 minutes for my service, even with an appointment! Sarah quickly had me seated, offered my colors for my gel pedicure and had my services started. I felt like she did a great job cutting my cuticles and examining the health of my toes, but the service felt rushed. At one point, my toe was bleeding for a cuticle cut. Luckily it wasn't painful, but maybe if she slowed down we could've avoided it. I also have ingrown toe nails that I'm pretty particular about and this was one of the reasons I felt nervous about going to a new salon. I wasn't sure what the experience would be like and I can say I was disappointed in the removal of my ingrown. She focused more on the inner corners of my toes, where of course the ingrowns usually occur, but I also have extra material at the wider part of my toes that usually get cut off. I would've asked her to remove it, I didn't notice it until the following day, since my foot was soaking and the pain was relieved at the time of my pedicure. However, Sarah was very considerate when it came to my polish color. She went above and beyond to find me the color I wanted and made sure to ask me if I liked it several times. There was even an instance when she saw something in the polish she painted on (probably lint), so she wiped it off and did it again. I appreciated this since most people would just paint over it as if they didn't see it. I would like to give them a second chance, but I'm unsure due to my ingrown. :/ read more

Saturday 9/26/2020. Made an appointment for noon. Arrived on time. The salon was not overly busy or populated. I checked in at the front desk: sanitized, was temperature checked, signed in with my name/phone#/temperature/appt time. There is a notice posted that visitors acknowledge the potential risk and liability of visiting and the salon employees are following all current guidelines to ensure a healthy environment. The salon has placards with notices of information all around. Nail technicians are wearing protective gear and there are plexiglass dividers between the customers and the nail technicians. I brought my own polish, although it's not necessary to bring your own. You're welcome to choose from their wall of colors. Nina was amazing and friendly and professional. Her skills showed throughout my Luxury Pedicure, a new option. It's $45 for 50 minutes of bliss and a 4-part treatment prior to the polishing. I chose the Tangerine Twist scent for my treatment. Although we have on masks I was pleasantly surprised that I could still smell the aroma. I had more than enough space between myself and other employees and guests. I enjoy this salon a lot! I've been coming here for years. This year I haven't been in since February, so I was more than ready and happy to be able to safely visit. I've been here many times before and appreciate the fact that it's a large salon that can always take me in for a walk in. I came in to remove my dip nails and just get a basic manicure to rest my nails. I sat for about 20 minutes after my nails were painted to dry them under the fan. Still, unfortunately same evening and next day my nails looked worse than what I'd do at home. Although the technician was careful, the polish was old and she should have recognized that. Instead she added some pink solution to just make it apply easier. Even I know that my old polishes are useless. Very disappointed with my results and for having wasted my time. I wanted to rest my fingernails from the dip but unfortunately there's no decent option for basic polish manicures. I should have just gotten a clear strengthening polish. read more

Years ago I went to the KB nails that is closer to the McDonalds on Fair Oaks with one of my friends, and when I took the polish off after about a month I saw that I had nail fungus. My whole nail fell off and it took a LONG time for it grow back. Now, about 2 months ago I visited the newer location on Fair Oaks next to Raley's after another friend said they were cleaner and the service better. When my friend and I walked in we asked for 2 pedicures, and I wanted to get a powder dip for my nails. Customer service was very poor. My nail technician didn't really talk to me or ask about what I wanted and just started working on my nails. She didnt listen to what I asked for, and ultimately though my nails came out ok- it wasnt what I wanted. My friend had already started her pedi, and and I went to get mine. They just started working on us without asking what we wanted, and didnt give me time to pick out a color. When asked if the basket of colors was gel or regular polish, i literally got no answer. I was just ignored. My friend and I resolved to just have her get a color since she started before me. I asked for a menu and told them we wanted the signature organic (too late for my friend who I was paying for). Then the technician pulled out Loreal packages for me to choose from. Confused I chose charcoal- and it turned out to be the mask and sugar scrub for my treatment. Lastly, when the technician removed the nail polish from when I was there 2 months ago, the nail was discolored. I tried to look at it closer, and asked the technician if that was fungus? He literally ignored me and continued using the utensils on me. I asked him to stop touching that nail so I could look at it. I pulled my foot up and saw that it was a green discoloration under my big toe nail.. looks like fungus to me. I skipped the polish, and walked out the door paying over $120 for terrible customer service, low quality products, and fungus- again. Nails are already chipping on my hands too. This place is ok for a quick gel nail! They use sterile products and work quickly. Gel mani is $25. I wish they cleaned up my cuticles. It was really the bare minimum didn't push them back or anything. The also charged me extra $5 because I used multiple colors.. don't we all have 10 fingers tho? also because I had a "design". She drew one line on my nail...it's not like they used extra product. If u are in a bind you can come here but you won't get a great cleaning, and the polish won't be close to the edge. read more
