It's a nice business with a great business model built on inclusion! I love that! You don't have to identify your gender when you book and the price is the same. I am a person that requires at least 30 minutes for my appointment and they have this as an option. My only feedback is probably not feasible to install- I'd recommend sinks with running water in the waxing rooms. My aesthetician was great about using hand sanitizer and changing gloves. The Waxing services are very timed. I enjoy the reception area, which has beautiful T-shirts and other goodies. Staff is very friendly. read more

This was my first time getting the "downstairs" waxed and have looked at so many places but I really liked Beehive's motto of being inclusive of all body types as well as LGBTQ+ friendly and locally owned. The inside was nicely furnished with a little waiting area and items for sale by local artists and crafts people. Lily was great through all of it, calm and professional and answered all my questions. I don't have experience with other types of wax but liked the hard wax they use here. I felt it gripped the hair well and didn't leave the sensitive areas more irritated than it naturally is after having hair ripped out for the first time. It was Xst) It has been such a pleasure to watch Katies business grow and build a safe space for all humans to get a wax service. All of Katie's employees are trained to use the same techniques so you get the same great service with anyone you're booked with. Outside appearance: Street parking with cool wall murals Inside: plants and murals. Very clean. Has products for sale in lobby. And even merch from locals. The bathroom has a bidet yall! And I love this for them lol clean your butt everyone You check in at the front desk and wait in the lobby. Your waxer brings you back to your private room which is clean and has a cool mural. You undress waist down for genital waxing and the waxer does their thing. Their technique has minimal pain. And they're fast! When you're done you go to front desk to pay and rebook if you want to rebook. It's a pretty well oiled machine. The business handled the pandemic with grace. Katie is big on community and hosts markets where you can buy merch from local vendors. It's just a beautiful space and business that gives back to it's community read more

I've been going there for years for my eyebrows- and Katie has made my experiences so comfortable, and at first educated me on the proper processes of waxing and the differences between the waxed they use (watch her stories- they're amazing!). More recently, she's helped me ease into the process of gential waxes, and it's been a game changer. Katie made me feel relaxed and safe even though I was so nervous. Beehive exposed clients to COVID and did NOT directly notify them. Instead, Katie (the owner) posted Instagram stories assuming that anyone impacted by this exposure/outbreak would read them. I was notified by a friend about the posts. It is not professional to post an Instagram story sharing that staff tested positive and then NOT directly contact anyone who was in the building the last few days who may have been exposed. Beehive has all of our contact information but did nothing with it except for reschedule appointments... hmm interesting ($$$) Yet in the photos and posts I'm sharing, she continues to say that "Beehive has notified their clients as quickly as possible" which is just a blatant lie. It's simply not true. She says the health and safety of her customers is important to her but her inaction shows otherwise. Yes, I reached out directly to Katie and asked if I was exposed because I felt by ethical standards I have a right to know. It is flat out wrong to not inform people directly if you have all of the information necessary to do so. For clarification, I was NOT asking for a full disclosure of staff's test results and health records. I was simply asking if I was exposed so I could be safe and considerate of others, because she was beating around the bush on Instagram. And others were feeling the same way! All I received from Katie was "with respect to my staff"... but how about your clients? The people who actually keep you in business? The people who stuck around during COVID and all the ups and downs. Who have listened to you complain on your Instagram about how hard it is to operate under these circumstances and how hard everything is. We were there with you through it all and continued to support, but I can't support a business that can't send a blanket email stating there were some positive tests and you should be aware of this info. I can't support a business who thinks Instagram is a more appropriate form of communication for something so serious. Posting on Instagram stories does not replace direct communication. Also, I have seen Katie post on multiple occasions when bad Yelp reviews are posted, in an effort to get other clients to come on here and write nice reviews. It's all pretty comical but I have stuck around through it all because Yvonne and Allyssa are gems (the only reason for two stars). It's unfortunate that I can't continue seeing them but if you are interested in checking Beehive out I do recommend both of them! No phone call or nothing I respect the service industry's time. I get that person book appointments and don't show up. But future NEW clients (which I was) are also late somethings. Every person employed here is so thorough, thoughtful, kind, welcoming, and highly skilled. Once I had a missed spot and River was SO kind is trying to get me back in to get it taken care of. There was no question or issue or pressure of any kind. They fully supported me and were so kind when I changed my mind and cancelled. This bougie ass place. I can't. I'm just amazed how unprofessional this place is. So how do you book 2 people for the same time slot (I get there first) but make me reschedule? And say "I can't waive the fee" like.. umm thank you for Fing up and offering to waive the fee.. ok. Then I'm told they don't how it happened and they take the second girl back (who got there after me) and say they can't do anything because my appt was at 4:30 even though I showed them text that THEY SENT ME that said 4:45... So after I drive 20min both ways for a time they gave me. I'm mad and I'm allowed to be upset when it wasn't my doing. So when I voice me being upset lady at the front desk (Rivers) gives me attitude and rolled her eyes when she yelled the other staff member to take in the other customers. Went in for my very first genital wax and I was so damn anxious. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by River. Right after being checked in, River asked if I needed to use the restroom before. How did they know when I didn't even know?! Haha. That small gesture made me feel so comfortable (I know that's weird but whatevs). Then Yvonne came in and had me follow them to their room. Yvonne had me hop on the table right away so I had no time to freak myself out. They then started asking me about my day and my skincare and told me how wonderful I was doing. One of the strips kinda sent me to the moon in pain, but Yvonne kept me super calm and assured me that everyone hates that strip haha Before I knew it, everything was done and I was walking out like a naked mole rat, just how I wanted hahaha.
