I absolutely Love Bonnie! I had my first experience at another sugaring studio in La. I didn't have anything to compare it to but it was very very painful and it took about an hour and a half to finish. They told me come back in 6 weeks but since I didn't live in that area it was difficult for me to come back. So about 3 months later I yelped Bonnie and needless to say since I waited so long from my last wax, it was like starting all over again. She made the experience so pleasant and QUICK. It was painful yes! But what she reassured me of the time frame to come back. If I came back within 3 weeks it wouldn't hurt at all AND SHE WAS RIGHT I came back 3 weeks later and there was no pain and she finished the session in 20 minutes. Bonnie is so knowledgeable about waxing and she takes her time to do quality work. She works quickly so you feel comfortable and she also creates conversation with you so you can take your mind off of any discomfort you may have. I drive 45 min every 3-4 weeks to see Her. I get the underarms and brazilian. Bonnie is so professional, funny, friendly, and super clean. Her room is so nice and organized. I definitely recommend Bonnie for all your Sugar Waxing needs. As per usual I waited until the last minute to schedule a Brazilian and could not find anyone to accommodate my schedule....until I came across The Sugar Studio California on Yelp. I messaged Bonnie through yelp and asked if she had a 9am opening and she did not, but offered an 8:30am appointment, which was even better! I booked and she sent me a text confirmation message. I am embarrassed I have not left a review before this. I am one of those special cases where I do not shave. I have extremely sensitive skin and just looking at a razor I get a rash. (Obviously an exaggeration! But darn near.) I found Bonnie years ago through my mom via a gift certificate for the Sugar Studio. I HAVE NEVER GONE TO ANYONE ELSE SINCE. Her studio is charming, and she even more so, making what can be a painful process, a breeze. Sugaring has left my sensitive skin softer and hair free longer and with out irritation. I do not dread a routine or upkeep as her demeanor and bedside manner leave nothing lacking. She is excellent at her craft and enjoyable to be around. I look forward to my appointments. Bonnie is the queen of sugaring! She is awesome, very fast and effective, she is really personable and sweet. I had my legs waxed which resulted in a bit of irritation so I was recommended to try sugaring and its amazing. It is not painless but they is a significant reduction in pain for sugaring with the same/even better results and much less irritation. Sugar hair removal is a sugary paste that is applied to the area in the opposite direction of the air and removed in the same direction as the hair growth, which if you have been waxed before, its the opposite. Which is still pulls out the hair from the follicle the same but doesn't pull off the top layer of your skin which is where a lot of the irritation and pain comes from. Brazilians and bikinis or any area, is soo much easier to endure with sugar hair removal! She has also permed my eyelashes! Yes ladies, PERMED eyelashes, no more curling them every morning, just wake up with perfectly curled lashes, it is waterproof so even the same day she perms them you can shower or wash your face that same night. She has really perfected this service and its unfortunately not heard of often but I highly recommend it at least for special events such as weddings or birthdays if you can't do it regularly. She works at Face and Body Emporium on Folsom street next to Trader Joes and the salon she works at has so much beauty retail and other service providers worth checking out, I purchase all of my product from here so its a two in one! I have gotten manicures and pedicures here too which were amazing, very professional and the nail girls are perfectionist! read more
