I have a 100 year old home that I am doing a bathroom remodel and my contractor requested a lead and asbestos analysis. Lead was found and removed but I was told no asbestos. After paying for the analysis and lead removal some asbestos was found attached to a 9 by 9 inch heating vent in the wall and the company had to come back to remove. It took 5 minutes to cut out and remove and I was charged $1250 for a job that should have been detected and removed from the beginning. A true scam as anyone in this business should have suspected asbestos in a 100 year old home's heating system. No special precautions were taken to remove the area in question. I could have taken it out myself and saved myself the money. read more

I had popcorn ceiling that needed to be removed as well as some transite pipes. After several bids from multiple companies I went with KB environmental and it was a great experience. Paul was awesome to deal with every step of the way, the price was fair and overall it was great experience for something that was really stressing me out. There was even a payment issues that was 100% my fault and they were respectful and professional while I got it resolved. You have been forewarned! Stay away from this company. I won't even touch them with 10ft pole. Unfortunately, I used them a few months ago to remove asbestos in the house that have asbestos all over the ceilings, closets, stairway and entire heating ducts system. At beginning, they were eager to do the work. We signed agreement and this is when things began going down the hill fast. They did not inform me when the exact day to start work, I had to contact them twice to get the start date. When the start day arrived, their crew arrived 2 hours late. Their excuse was traffic. If they know they need to be at job site by 9, you plan ahead to get there. Strike One! The job supposed to be two days long, after the end of day two, no phone calls (again) from their company to inform me if the work is done or not. I went to look at the job site the next day, the work was not completed. Job site was a mess, the crew left their equipment, tools and asbestos was still in the duct boots. Job not completed. No one returned phone calls or emails. Strike two! The job quality is very poor. Damages on the drywall was horrible. Big holes in the closet ceilings and big cut on my ceilings. These were unnecessary damages in order to remove the asbestos. Strike three! After three emails, five phone calls unreturned. I had to assume they have abandoned the job, which leave me with the many unknowns, whether the job site was even safe, what was remove, was it remove properly? I ended up hiring and paying another company to inspect and remove whatever remaining asbestos left in the house. Additionally, when they started the job, I gave them a key to my home. The crew never returned to the job site and took my house key with them. because of this, I have to get a new lock for my front door. More money spend for their reckless, unprofessional service. This not only cost me more money and loss time for me to move in. Strike four! Three weeks later, they have the audacity to send me invoice for the work. I told them the problems and the owner, Ohannes told me they finished the work, when (1) he wasn't even at the job site to verify (2) he denied all claims I made with photos evidence. Then offer me a few hundreds bucks off when I spent thousands of dollars to fix his screw ups. I told him I would pay him the balance minus all the fees and expenses I paid other company to complete his work. He told me to "see you court" so he did. Strike five! Unless you love to see him at your job site and then some more meeting in the courtroom, go ahead. But not for me. See you in court Ohannes. read more

Asbestos abatement takes some patience if you have to get it done; the most annoying part of a renovation imo. If dealing with an old house you may find it is in all sorts of places. In our case, we had it in window putty and it was hard to remove. The team had to break most of the glass and spend extra time to get it out. I am currently in the middle of the moving process which everyone knows is not pleasant. So the fact that I am taking the time to stop & write this review says a lot in itself. Without going into all the sordid details, I recently purchased a condo & the Seller/Contractor/Flipper had done remodeling, including scraping acoustic ceilings. It came to my attention that he did not obtain an asbestos survey prior to doing this, thus, he violated code, & put others, including me & my family at risk of inhaling asbestos. I knew I had to have the appropriate testing done first but wanted to prepare myself for a possible abatement, if needed. Time was of the essence since we need to be out of our current place very soon. In addition, my son has a history of serious lung issues in the past, adding even more stress to the situation. I found this company through Home Advisor. Ohannes Saliba contacted me immediately & provided me with a wealth of knowledge on asbestos, the process for testing, & overview of the abatement process. He was patient, compassionate, & I could tell immediately that he is an expert in this field. During the next few days, as I nervously awaited the results of the asbestos sample testing, then the air quality sample testing, I contacted him several times to ask more questions. Despite us not knowing if his services would even be needed, he always took or returned my calls promptly & continued to answer all of my questions. He assured me that if abatement was needed, he would work within our move in time frame. He was understanding & reassuring & never made me feel as if I was being a burden with my calls & numerous questions. Although the testing showed that abatement was not needed in our situation, I will never forget Ohannes' kindness during this very stressful scare. God forbid, if the need ever arises on my current or future property for the types of services his company does, I would not hesitate for a second to call KB Environmental. Ohannes was a real pleasure to work with. He made me feel comfortable about the whole process of removing the asbestos-popcorn ceiling in my new townhome. After the procedure, the following week we found more popcorn behind a wall that we removed (it was like a fake soffit or something). Ohannes offered to come out and get rid of it no charge (it was a small area, like 2 square feet). He really cared about our place being fully cleaned out.
