Their commercials are LOUD which I hate because most of the people in them yell or they have some wacked out music from 1988 blaring in the background. But then I think of "Austin's watching FOX! Austin's watching FOX!" I can forgive them for the noise. I only really want to watch 2 to 3 hours of judge shows when I get the day off, so taking a full day and afternoon of the programming is out of the question. I do thoroughly enjoy that good 2 to 3 hours of Judge Alex and Judge Joe Brown and Judge Judy (the best!) and, again, half the fun is the commercials. You get crazy David Komie "I don't look like a lawyer, but it helps me sneak up on them" and whoever that Funk guy is yelling and parading around that Hummer he painted with his name all over it. I hate the Allied Health Careers and business school ones though, and I think if I watched them everyday the irritation of them alone would have me interviewing everywhere within a week. The best thing about Fox 7 is just how sensational and over the top it is. I love that. I love that their newscasts have names like Fox 7 News Edge First at Nine! I think they could add a "2 the X-treme!" in there somewhere to really drive it over the top. But for now, that'll do. Fox 7 is just very entertaining all around to watch and I really appreciate how much fun it is when I go home and watch bland boring Shreveport newscasts where you want to poke the newscasters with a stick to get some life out of them. One more thing! I love how they are letting children do the weather reports in the morning. When it's not precious, it's hilarious. I've been switching over from GMA more and more.

I love that the songs are listed and there's a record of it so I can go back to see the title of songs I enjoyed in the moment. I really appreciate this station I listen to it online, right now dj kroc just talked about how maybe nobody's listening bc I think it's pretty late on the usa and I wanted to leave a review somewhere. I am listening ! and I love it thank you I listen online and I also love looking up the shows afterwards, the best when I don't catch a show live is when they're on mixcloud so I can get the full experience but if not I go to the spotify playlists or just put the songs in the order they're listed in on my spotify. so yeah, thank you kvrx!!! I wish there were college radios in my country I think they're the coolest thing and out of every college radio I've listened to online KVRX is my most favorite

It seems that they have to share their broadcast with Austin community radio, KOOP. But this station does the student body well- if you're a UT student, you can get on the air if you're interested! They'll train ya, and get you spinnin' vinyl in no time- you don't even need to be a broadcast major or anything! Got some good tunes to share? Sign up! The station is a community non-profit, so there's no advertisements like other stations, just the occasional public service announcement reminding you not to drink bleach or to register to vote. Informative stuff! They sometimes do special programs on this station, that are always interesting. They have an upcoming program on how to do a kickflip. Hard hitting! Ideally, this would be a good station to tune in at work, since you'll rarely hear the same song twice. I always hate listening to muzak or top 40 hits on repeat, which you'll never hear on this station. Tune in, turn on!

I love the national NPR programming like All…read moreThings Considered to keep up with news, and there are always fascinating things to hear on other programs like Marketplace and The Hidden Brain, and even brilliant entertainment on the weekends like Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. But KUT also produces local content of their own that's worth hearing. I appreciate the Texas Standard that is recorded locally in cooperation with other major markets and focuses on issues and events around Texas, and the ATX Explains series is always an interesting way of looking in-depth at different quirks of the Austin area that you may have always wondered about. It was a pleasure getting a tour of the station recently and getting to see behind the scenes of their facility that was built about a decade ago to accommodate the growth and provide all the work spaces needed. It's amazing to see all the recording rooms, all the equipment that goes into making every broadcast, and just the sheer size of the news room. And the studio that can hold a small audience for live music broadcasts is brilliant. I may not always agree with every program, and I can wish for some more polish from the announcers over their folksy delivery, but I always find the content interesting and relevant. Outside of those excruciating public radio fund drives, I expect to be listening throughout the future!

These guys do a good job of spinnin' those discs and jamming those vinyl records. Being that they're an Austin City Limits radio station, that doesn't limit them to one genre of music. ACL music series- the show, and the concert series have had music all over the map. So if you say that you're an ACL radio station, you can really get away with playing just about anything, there's gotta be some way that every major artist is somehow associated with either the show or the concert series. If you don't like the genre of music, just like the weather in Texas, just give it a few minutes, and it'll change. I do get sick of the number of commercials that these guys play.

Well, not 'anything' since they don't play most of the crap that I avoid elsewhere. I have a couple of CD compilations from them that I play the hell out of. I attended a fundraising event at KLRU PBS today at the Austin Community College Highland campus…read more I was not aware that KLRU PBS had a space to host a social gathering. The capacity in the main event room was approximately 250. The room had a raised stage with audio visuals and large projection screen. There were 10 persons table with ample room to pass by. During the event there were several stations set up, picture backdrop and a rotating camera station. Within the hallways and the main even space there was plenty of room to walk without bumping into someone. Staff was on hand to direct you or help you with questions. They were all super friendly. I will definitely consider coming to or planning an event here.

That ain't country. These guys sound more like pop music or contemporary. It's all about love and stuff, where country music is generally sorta the opposite- their songs don't have any mention of prison, mamma, trucks, or gettin' drunk. So many commercials! It all sounds so formulaic. There's no personality to this corporate radio station. I don't ever hear any local musicians on here. You see, this was my favorite station when I lived in Texas, and after having visited Austin for the weekend, I decided to Yelp about it. It's not a "pure" local country station. It's corporate - part of Clear Channel. But I don't care... so long as it has good country music. (Corporations aren't bad just because they're successful at what they do.)I've been starved of my Country music since our bay area country station went off the air, so this was a breath of fresh air. To be honest, I prefer Tennessee Country to Texas Country (I know, shame on me,) and for those who don't know, most every one of the nationally known Country artists are Tennessee Country. You know, the ones that head to Memphis in search of stardom. Anyway I do miss the city. So I'll admit part of this review is nostalgia. But I had my radio tuned to KASE for my entire weekend... except for a short stint on some other country station that billed itself as Austin's own radio station, except after accidentally setting KASE to the preset that the other station was on, I couldn't find it again. Five stars for "will always listen to this when I'm in town. And will listen to it online whenever I need my country fix."
