People confuse it with the KUT or KVRX; the latter isn't surprising since we share the same frequency (91.

I love that the songs are listed and there's a record of it so I can go back to see the title of songs I enjoyed in the moment. I really appreciate this station I listen to it online, right now dj kroc just talked about how maybe nobody's listening bc I think it's pretty late on the usa and I wanted to leave a review somewhere. I am listening ! and I love it thank you I listen online and I also love looking up the shows afterwards, the best when I don't catch a show live is when they're on mixcloud so I can get the full experience but if not I go to the spotify playlists or just put the songs in the order they're listed in on my spotify. so yeah, thank you kvrx!!! I wish there were college radios in my country I think they're the coolest thing and out of every college radio I've listened to online KVRX is my most favorite

It seems that they have to share their broadcast with Austin community radio, KOOP. But this station does the student body well- if you're a UT student, you can get on the air if you're interested! They'll train ya, and get you spinnin' vinyl in no time- you don't even need to be a broadcast major or anything! Got some good tunes to share? Sign up! The station is a community non-profit, so there's no advertisements like other stations, just the occasional public service announcement reminding you not to drink bleach or to register to vote. Informative stuff! They sometimes do special programs on this station, that are always interesting. They have an upcoming program on how to do a kickflip. Hard hitting! Ideally, this would be a good station to tune in at work, since you'll rarely hear the same song twice. I always hate listening to muzak or top 40 hits on repeat, which you'll never hear on this station. Tune in, turn on!

Ok I don't know shit about Tejano music, but, I do know that the more I drink the more I like it…read more It just so happens that we have two Yelpers who DJ at PTR sometimes. You may know them. Ron U. (Disco Duck) and Larry E (El Toro Brovo). They are funny as shit and you can chat live with them and request some tunes. I can't name many Tejano bands, but, that's where Google comes in. I've just recently discovered that I actually like La Mafia! They're playing it right now!! It's clear that our two Yelpers come here and have a good ass time. Not sure what goes on in the studio but they appear to get drunk or get the munchies (ahem) and cut up and play some really good stuff including occasional disco. Yep disco and other stuff. You don't need to know how to speak Spanish or even Spanglish for that fact to enjoy the broadcast. I love all kinds of music and while living here in Texas I have grown quite fond of Tejano. But, like I said I need Google. Now I have Google and the Disco Duck and wild man Larry E. I love listening to their shows and try to catch them on their usual Friday afternoons. Keep up the good work drunk mofo's ( :) ). P.S. I think they get paid with booze and food? P.S.S. You never know what you're going to hear coming through the mic! Flatulence is not off limits!! Just sayin'.

Always on the lookout for new Tejano stations. This one is saved on my favoritesread more

When I listen to the news, I want to hear what is actually happening in the world. I don't want to hear someone's opinion that they pretend is truth. These days KUT is about the only station I listen to. I love the national NPR programming like All…read moreThings Considered to keep up with news, and there are always fascinating things to hear on other programs like Marketplace and The Hidden Brain, and even brilliant entertainment on the weekends like Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. But KUT also produces local content of their own that's worth hearing. I appreciate the Texas Standard that is recorded locally in cooperation with other major markets and focuses on issues and events around Texas, and the ATX Explains series is always an interesting way of looking in-depth at different quirks of the Austin area that you may have always wondered about. It was a pleasure getting a tour of the station recently and getting to see behind the scenes of their facility that was built about a decade ago to accommodate the growth and provide all the work spaces needed. It's amazing to see all the recording rooms, all the equipment that goes into making every broadcast, and just the sheer size of the news room. And the studio that can hold a small audience for live music broadcasts is brilliant. I may not always agree with every program, and I can wish for some more polish from the announcers over their folksy delivery, but I always find the content interesting and relevant. Outside of those excruciating public radio fund drives, I expect to be listening throughout the future!
