I'm way overdue giving Elsy a shout out and was reminded about them when I noticed them listed as…read moremy service center on a carfax email. I think my last time in was Spring 2020, and things were chaos in northern NJ around then... I'm pretty sure my first stop at the shop was for some silly repair and I opted to just wait in their seating area for a couple hours. My first time there I saw something that made me really appreciate how this shop operates. A lady had an issue with her car and the folks called around a bunch of scrapyards/used parts options, finding the cheapest parts in like Long Island or something, and could have gotten it there in time to repair same day. She couldn't afford it, and they pitched a financing option. They straight up refused to just replace the tire because a damaged rim would just tear it apart and whatever the underlying mechanical issue it had was unsafe to be on the road. A sketchy place might be fine with making a sale, but seeing how hard they tried to get her safely back on the road made me trust I wouldn't be upsold or lied to. Elsy does a lot of fleet maintenance, so their parking and lifts often have vans in them. They're also a "tire shop" but don't let that dissuade you if you need more than new tires and brakes. I've had them do all sorts of non-tire repairs and maintenance on my abused Honda - engine mounts, A/C leak, wheel bearing, oil changes... If you decide to wait for your car there, they have a coffee maker, a TV, and wifi. If you need to get to the train station down the road, they'll either call an uber or drop you off so you can get wherever you need to be. It's not as fancy as getting your work done at a dealership, but they offer basically the same perks. The Yelp tag is also very correct in this being a family operation - Jose and his son Chris were so nice and knowledgeable, and really make you feel like family. I hope the old man is enjoying his time with his granddaughter more than hanging out in the shop! Millie at the front desk is absolutely delightful and a total rockstar with all the office tasks she has to juggle. I wish every mechanic was as reliable and honest as the folks here.

I don't know how to adequately express how great these guys are. I think it's been 7 or so years…read morethat I've been seeing them for my BMW. They consistently exceed expectations: -They always explain everything in a way that's understandable to me, a layperson. They will show me the issue if they can. - They don't rush me. - Prices are fair. - They are honest and will tell me if I don't need something. - They have answered emergency calls on Saturday night when I'm trying to figure out whether my car is safe to drive home from vacation. - They have counseled me on what to expect and what to ask for when I was stranded out of town and had to get repairs done at a local shop. - Mark has made (local) house calls to my driveway to pull error codes. - My glove box broke while the car was under warranty--wouldn't close--and the dealer refused to fix it under warranty and then actually couldn't find a fix at all. I ignored it for a couple of years but it made me mad every time I looked at it. On one of my early appointments with them, Billy and the guys surprised me by having spent a couple of afterhours jury-rigging a way to get the thing to close and open. Their creative engineering has held all these years. There was no charge for this--it was a "fun challenge" they said. - Mark has a really high level of expertise and goes to continuing education conferences where he forms personal relationships with key experts and vendors. - He is one of the few places around here that TRULY knows transmissions, to the point where other shops send their transmission jobs to him. This place is a GEM!!!

My sister-in-law and I was driving home from Newark after doing some volunteer work…read more Unfortunately, she was too busy talking to me that she didn't see a giant pothole. 5mins after running over the pothole, we heard a weird noise. Sure enough, we got a flat. Damn New Jersey and its lack of road work! It just so happens that ADX was right there as we were contemplating on what to do next. We pulled in. A service member came and took a look and told us that we would need a new tire. He recommended a used tire. The price was super reasonable. His service was fantastic. He took our car into the shop right away. We were on our way 15mins later. End result: great service and great price.

They greeted me before I even opened the door which was nice, I hate that I didn't take one name. I'm sorry guys. Once I got there they immediately took the car to work on it, while I lounged in their waiting area and very comfortable chairs. Anyways they were extremely attentive and customer Oriented. I asked so many question in regards to cars and I'm sure they were over it but they were so enthusiastic about it. They have a fridge that holds complementary waters and also a coffee/tea station if you like. I thought it was going to be super loud in there, being it's on a major highway in a large city plus it's a mechanic shop with heavy machinery that normally makes a lot of noise I was mistaken. I could hear the guys behind the counter talking about their pets and families, that's how quiet and sound proof that shop is. The bathroom is the one that takes the cake, anywhere I go if the bathroom looks like trash I bet you the service and everything else is too. Their bathroom is pristine, very clean bathroom especially for a male dominated shop I was shocked but at the same time I was so impressed. They had a table that holds magazines and newspapers for the readers out, just be prepared to read anything from sports, car and local menu's. Time of service...well depending on what you are getting it will determine how long you will be there. I was getting tints, I wasn't in there too long and I also did notice some customers coming in and leaving before me. Mainly because they were getting something else that took less time. Trust me those guys they work on efficiency, so don't worry you won't be there long if anything you can leave and they will call you when your car is ready. If you asked me if I'll be back? Definitely. Thank you so much for everything today.
