My first review of Rattan Cleaners was long overdue and after they had been so customer oriented of the last several years. Things have changed. I used to take my clothes (shirts, pants, and occasionally a suit) in every two weeks at 7 am on Friday morning and they were ready by 4 pm that afternoon. I started going to work earlier and decided that Thursday afternoon would be easier but it meant combing home and changing and gettin the clothes to them before close of business. One day I had my clothes to them around 5 and was told that they had to be there by 3 pm to get them the next day. OK, I hadn't been told that before, but would make the effort to get them to them by then. So, I started dropping my clothes off at noon when heading back to work after lunch. Today, I go in to drop my clothes off at noon and was told that they won't be ready until Friday. I asked why since I had been told that 3 pm was the cut-off for next day service. I was told that they might be but it would be unlikely that they would be ready. So, while I had inconveniences in the past that I could handle, this is the final issue. After I get these back, Friday it seems, I'll be finding another cleaners. Hopefully there are others close by me that offer one day or same day service and will work to make me their loyal customer.

After about a week I went and picked up my altered wardrobe and was pleasantly impressed by quality of craftsmanship. Unfortunately, after a few visits, I was not greeted with the same kindness as initially given, mainly I believe because my ring wasn't made there. However, before the service, I had asked for the option for them to work on my ring, and the representative said with confidence that they could do it. After the work was done, I was given a receipt double for what I was quoted, and received a sub-par work. The finish was not smooth and the details looked rough. When I confronted this issue, I was met with some off-putting comments about ordering my ring, and they just "undid" the work within five minutes. I wish I never requested that service because now my ring has the minor details that still looks unprofessional, and I still paid for the service that was undone after it wasn't done well. The issue is, I didn't expect them to doing customizations on a ring that was uniquely made or made by a different company. The issue is that the individual that helped me was confident in saying they could do the service I asked about, AND the charged me for it, and it was clearly not done well... So much so, that it took five minutes to undo it, and even then, with an undesirable finish. I don't think I'll be taking any more services from them unfortunately because of this experience, and I do want to make it clear that my unfortunate experience isn't their default. I just wish I didn't spend time and money on something if that wasn't their specialty to begin with. If you want custom designs with them, they'll probably do a great job with it, but if you have a ring that isn't made by them, and you want to add customizations, it's best to reach out to other jewelers.
