We rented the patio boat for the day and we had so much fun the time just flew by! The rental process was super easy, we paid online and then we went down to the docks to get the rental. The staff walked us through the process on how to use the boats and instructions on basic etiquete on the lake. The email says to only send one person down to get the tutorial and sign paperwork and once you get there you know why lol it's hard to get there and there are a good amount of people renting boats. There are steep steps to get down to the boat docks, no hand rails, and when you're carrying a cooler, small gas grill and fishing gear it gets very tiring. If you're renting a boat for the first time, prepare yourself, watch some videos, be courteous, be mindful of your trash, and bring lots of sunscreen. read more

Going to Sequoia for once in a lifetime is fun if you have spent time visiting California wilderness, Alaska, Canada, etc. The forest is interesting, but the best part of the trip was getting out on Lake Kaweah on a boat and going around the lake and swimming in the lake. It was refreshing and made me feel energized like I could conquer the world. The scenery is nice but a bit dry. The customer service at the shop is good and friendly. They have lots of staff. I got some swim shorts, sodas, and food like cheeseburger etc. They had trash bags to give out. The marina is fun to explore if you like obscure lakes in California. Boat was half day 4 hours $230 fit like 14 people. Super fun experience in the summer. read more

Nice people in the marina gift shop. The kids loved swimming in the warm water. The boat was clean and easy to drive. However, you need to take 124 concrete steps down a very steep hill with NO HAND RAILS. OMG... this is so dangerous! If you stumble, there's nothing to stop you from tumbling all the way down to the bottom of the hill! At the end of the day, you'll need to climb back up those same 124 steps to get back to where your car is parked ($10 parking fee) at the top of another steep hill, in 100+ degree heat. Please see attached photo... it doesn't do justice to how steep and dangerous those steps are. I was told by one of the marina staff that there is no other way to get to the marina. read more

Great 4th even in 112 degree heat, only thing is I wish they make it easier getting to the dock with all our belongings and better parking . Going up and down the stairs seemed unsafe a couple people fell going up the 4 flights of stairs it was very HARD WORK. I wish they can change that .Because of that I will not be back until this issue is fixed the labor to enjoy this place is to back breaking. read more

My small family rented a 8 person patio boat for 4 hours. It was a lot of fun. Next time we would do the 8 hours. The boat travels at 5 mph so you have to allot travel time to get back. It also only has 3 hours of fuel, so you have to take that into consideration. We went swimming, travelled the lake, and had lunch on board. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is that the boat was a little dirty and I was a little worried about only having the 3 hours of fuel even though we paid for a 4 hour window. This was our first time at Lake Kaweah, and with this pandemic we did not know what to expect. We went up Friday to scope out the place. We brought some chairs, food & ez up and found a place to hangout and fish; It wasn't bad at all. There were a bunch of tall brush but nothing too crazy. The second day we came back prepared to rent a boat and chill on the lake...well this is the part where we were not prepared. Saturday was way more packed than Friday. Everyone brought their boats out on the lake. We tried to rent a pontoon boat, but they were all sold out so we had to settle for a fisherman boat, which we made work. More people were hanging out on the shores than in the water so we were far enough away from everyone. The weather was perfect! Even though the sun was out there was a breeze so we were able to enjoy being out on the water. The water wasn't dirty, it was actually very beautiful. I wouldn't recommend docking anywhere because the further out you go the shores are covered with spiky brush. I definitely want to make a trip back and reserve a pontoon boat ahead of time because they looked like a lot of fun. read more

Pretty pathetic when this business profits off the tourism of Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park but refuses to support the one Three Rivers public school. All businesses profit from the tourism which is great but the school doesn't. When asking for support for a school fundraiser (an $80 boat that probably costs them about $10) I got told no very rudely and hung up on. Every other business I asked was delighted to donate something. Not sure who these people are but they clearly have no couth and could clearly care less about the children. read more

Customer service is garbage. Someone left a bunch of high school kids to run the place. Never answer the phone. We ran into multiple issues after reserving a boat. Arrived at the marina only to find they gave our boat away. No one checked ID of the reservation. Kids act they are renting out championship state of the art boats, and try to scolled you like they're your parents when they claim you violated one of their many rules. Place is a joke and will never give them a dollar. Stay away! read more

SUBSTANDARD BOATS AND SUBSTANDARD SERVICE. Before you rent the slowest boats in the area you should know a half day is 6 hours at $180. A full day rate is 8 hours at $205. We rented the boat for eight hours. Our rental time started at 11 and were told we had to have the boat back by five.... After the eight hour fee had already been paid. Very deceitful and poor practice. There's no reason to have the customers pay for eight hours when the employees know full well they are only going to get six hours out of it. The owner Jean could care less and simply said if we were not happy with the service there was no need to rent from her again. Shame on her she lost several clients that day. Boats were very dirty and are in such poor run down condition with rotting wood throughout. We had to clean our own boat because they were so slow, cutting into our rental time. You only get three hours of gas and the max speed is 5 mph. That's still extremely slow for a pontoon so it takes forever to get anywhere on the large lake. Employees are mostly teenagers who don't seem to know what they're doing or simply don't care, like the owner. Made an attempt to speak with the owner About my experience and the discrepancies. The owner told me I just didn't like their service and that I did not have to rent from them again. She's right I did not like their service for VALID REASONS and I WILL NOT rent from her business again. Renting from this business will not be what it appears. The only positive was that the lake was pretty and swimmable. read more

This was my family's first visit to the lake and we rented 2 boats. The staff was very friendly and informative. I'm surprised to see the bad reviews on their service as we did not receive that at all. We even arrived late and our reservations were intact. The water temperature was perfect and we basically floated in the lake all day. Bring your own flotation toys or you can use their life vests. We came on the weekend and the lake wasn't crowded so it felt like we had our own private cove. Other boaters were pretty respectful; which makes the visit even more pleasant. I am extremely upset from my experience with the lack of customer service at your marina this last weekend, Saturday, July 29th. We drove all the way from Whittier, CA (SoCal) to spend a day on the lake for my buddy's Bachelor Weekend. I was told I had a reservation on the phone and when I got there, my name was no where to be found and all the patio boats were rented. We were told "tough luck" nothing was done to make it right. NOTHING. We were told by Wyatt that nothing could be done. I asked him to get his Manager on the phone, he called her, but she would not even listen to my complaint. I was informed that I made my reservation with Savanah, who apparently was only working there for two days, and was fired for not taking down the proper information for a rental. I was also told that it happened to at least 6 other reservations. From somebody who runs a customer service business with over 100 employees I understand that one bad apple can stain your reputation, but at least do what you can to make it right and keep those customers coming back. There were 7 of us who will probably never visit your Marina again and will let our friends and family know of the terrible experience we had while visiting your marina. You guys need to fix what happened and make it right. read more

We rented a slow 8 person patio boat. It was perfect in late July. Kids swam and fished. It was so hot the water get great. We brought the dogs on board. It's a slow boat that's reliable for $140 full day. We had no problems. The "kids" showing how to use them were ok. If you know how to drive a boat this is like rowing a cannon. read more

Everyone loves a liar ! The marina is "open" until 7 but They only rent boats till 4pm and you have to have them back by 6. If you get there at 4:14 they will tell you yo screw off because the last 3 hours they're open are for returning boats. We drove up and they said they wouldn't rent us a boat. Nowhere on their website does it ever say they stop renting at 4. Waste of a drive to the lake. Your better off renting one in town and taking it up. On the Friday of 4th of July weekend their wasn't a single adult on hand to answer any questions. read more

Went there today and will never go back. I would give it 0 if I could. They told us not to go past horse creek. I did not see anything to show where horse creek is. It was our first time there. Our pontoon boat got stuck on rocks. We had to call the marina for help. They tried to get the boat unstick. They were not able to get it unstuck. They told us they would be back shortly and just go get something to help. An hour and a half later and they did not come back we started trying to move the boat while we were still waiting and we got it unstuck. 2 hours later by the time we got to the marina they said they were taking our deposit because we went past horse creek and we used their staff which they needed.even though they were not the ones to get us out of there. They told us they are taking away our deposit because we went past horse creek and we took away their staff which did not do anything for us. My wife and I rented a "patio boat" for the two-hour minimum. While this watercraft was very slow, we enjoyed our leisurely cruise around part of this very pretty lake. It cost us $85 plus $6.65 for the gas we used, which we thought was pretty reasonable. Since there were only the two of us, we had LOTS or room on this boat designed for up to eight passengers. BTW--you can bring along a gas grill if you wish. read more

My grandsons and I rented a boat here one afternoon recently and had a blast. Gas is extra over the cost of the boat, and it didn't go over about 2 mph, but it was functional and sturdy and my boys loved it, so I was happy. The guys weren't wild about the long windy park roads, but I was able to redeem myself with the afternoon here. Bring a picnic and beach toys or even your propane grill. And don't forget the sunscreen, which was my only bad grandma moment. read more
