Another place I was in a few years ago. Back then, it looked the exact same, it was known for a very good soup and roll for lunch. It does/did good business from local offices.
I popped in here one evening, while I waited for WJ Kavanaghs to launch, and yes it was quite but the guy, possibly the manager, could not have been friendlier to what I gauge was at least 2 non-regulars (he asked us both if we wanted the wireless network key) Re-reading that I think I should clarify, there was a few more than the 2 of us in there.
When this lovely tablet died and I looked bored, he offerered me the paper... I was no where near the bar, and out of sight.... this shows that he went looking to make sure everybody was fine. This is a great thing to see, and I can only imagine tourists would be thrilled with this type of sevice.
I only stuck around for one pint of Heino (4.65) as I wanted some pale ale(4.50) in WJ Kavanaghs, but I would like to think that I would remember to pop in here for luch some day on the way into town.
*on a side note - They host Divorce parties!!!.... me and the SO always laugh about their electronic banner saying this.... but I suppose it is needed, and saying it will remind you that they do such parties when you need it. read more
