I was typically in the back and A-A-Ron was lovely. She was so funny and helpful. She asked everyone's names and remembered them! We did one of the first tours out that morning and I'm glad we did. It was cooler and we weren't in the hot sun the whole time. Some of the tunnels are long, and they are dark. You are given headlamps, gloves and a helmet. You're in a big group and will absolutely be separated from the people you go with at some point. 10/10 highly recommend!

He goes over the helmet and gloves and sort of the agenda for the day. We loaded up into a safari style truck for a 35-40 minute drive. It was bumpy but entertaining. Patrick was our guide and he was a classic funny dad joke guy. The only feedback for him I have was on the river he could have projected more. There were two other river guides with us. The inner tubes were military grade rubber so they protected us when we ran into the walls. There were four tunnels you go through and they give you a headlamp so you are not into the complete darkness. The water was refreshing! Would do the tour again for sure :)

It had a little bit of cover, so as a ginger that burns, I sat towards the front and was able to stay mostly out of the sun the entire trip We were able to learn so much about the land, cruised next to a massive pod of dolphins and went in two caves. It was amazing. When we got to the snorkel spot they brought out some drinks and snacks. Snacks included fresh pineapple, chips and granola bars. They do have a bathroom on board for emergencies....but they let you know straight up it's not something you WANT to use if you can avoid it. My only complaint is that they didn't urge people to stay seated on the ride back. This older gentleman decided to come up and stand right next to me to jump and ride the waves? And kept slamming into me and stepping on my feet. Our bench was full so I had no room to move over. I asked him nicely to stop and he ignored me, and the guides ignored him. There are signs all over saying to stay seated when the boat is moving.

After spending about 3 hours and charging me his $90 per hour rate, he advised me I needed a new fuel pump and should replace the fuel lines and T fittings to which I agreed. Since he understandably did not have parts on his truck, he took what he claimed was the bad fuel pump assembly and over $300 of my money and I haven't seen him since except when I accidently ran into him at a Home Depot. When I called him to follow up, he said he had a man working on finding a replacement fuel filter but wasn't having any luck but he would be in touch in a few days. After weeks passed I made more phone calls but he stopped answering my calls and did not respond to voice mail messages I left him. I figured he was probably screening my calls with Caller ID so I called him from a friends phone and sure enough he answered. He assured me he would be back to finish the job and again he never showed. Months later on a Saturday I spotted him at the Home Depot and again Dwight promised he would come by and get my jet skis running. He even gave me a specific day and time so I really believed him. He never showed. So over a year later, I am stuck with these units sitting in my driveway with electronic cases, battery mounts and other parts just hanging loose as he left them and I don't even have the fuel pump assembly he took. Today I go online to look him up and find he has moved from Thousand Oaks CA area to Kauai, HI. I can pretty much assure anyone that the Laurie S. review on Yelp is fallacious. Dwight is a one man show and there is no company expansion except that he might be going back and forth. Dwight appears to be very nice and down to earth but he is not sincere or responsible. I don't buy his proclaimed history with the US Marines. Marines are respectful, responsible and get the job done. Dwight took my money, took my parts and did not get the job done and has left me and the jet skis in worse shape than before he first showed up. Being a mobile service is nice for the customer but it's also nice for him since he doesn't need the overhead of running a shop. But his biggest advantage is you can't track him down when he runs off with your money, parts and unfinished job because he got in over his head. I highly recommend you don't make the mistake I made. Do not let him take parts from your boat or RV. Do not pay him a dime until he is completely done with the job and you are completely satisfied.

After chatting with other travelers, I'm convinced we had one of the best tours available. especially after talking to a couple at our hotel pool who had paid more than we did and only got snacks limited alcohol. We were able to go into a few sea caves and even went under a small waterfall. On the way back, our captain gave us a much more adventurous ride! It's definitely not for the faint of heart. We were jamming to music, jumping waves, and getting completely sprayed with water. If you get motion sick I would take their recommendation to medicate and medicate again after you eat! Its a more budget friendly option but you don't need to drive your kayak to the river, its just a short walk. Before launching, the owner gave us a quick and helpful presentation on where to go and how to handle the kayaks. Just note there is an additional $5 per person river fee (or a state park fee). The trip involves about two miles of kayaking and a mile-long hike each way. Because the trail has lots of rocks, muddy areas, crossing a river and roots, I wouldn't recommend it for small kids or anyone who isn't relatively fit. Overall, the equipment was excellent, the staff was great and we highly recommend it!

Our guide for the day was "K-man". He was awesome! He had a great personality, was very knowledgeable and was funny. He was also great with names; he remembered everyone's, and he made it a point to make conversation with everyone single one of us. Our adventure started off by meeting at the office/pick up location. Then we loaded up into a van and made the short drive to the slipway. There we selected kayaks and were given oars and life jackets. Once we got situated, we hit the water. The weather that day was perfect; the sun was out with some clouds, and there was a light, constant breeze. Our journey on the water was a beautiful one. The water was cool, the scenery was green. I'll admit, the kayaking distance was a bit challenging. Maybe a bit more so as my husband and I are competitive and we were nearly racing with another couple. LOL! Once we reached shore, we gathered up and made our way to the hiking path. Honestly, the hike itself is not hard, with the exception of a few spots that may require teamwork/assistance. (**READ TIPS BELOW) Once we reached the waterfall, most of us went into the water. We stayed there for about 20-30 minutes. Our guide never rushed us. He sat back and let us enjoy ourselves. It was only when we all gathered up again that we headed back, same hike in reverse back to the kayaks. Once in the kayaks it was the same way back as well. The scenery was VERY beautiful. Several pictures were taken. Overall we had a great day. We would definitely recommend to anyone who has never been to Kauai and to anyone who is interested in being surrounded by beautiful scenery. TIPS: - [ ] Wear good shoes! The terrain can be unstable due to river rocks, tree roots, mud, and uneven ground. Your feet WILL get soaked and the ground is unstable. My husband and I both opted to wear sneakers that we were ready to retire. When we were done we threw them away. Another couple wore aqua shoes and they said they were extremely uncomfortable: good for water, bad for the rough terrain. Another couple wore brand new hiking boots and they became water logged. - [ ] Wear sunscreen!! Even if it's overcast, the harsh island sun will magnify through the clouds. - [ ] Sunglasses and a hat/visor is a wise choice. **if you wear a hat or visor, it may create a blind spot. Keep your head up! One person in our group hit their head twice on the same tree branch! - [ ] Wear clothing you can get wet. You will get wet from the waist down from the kayaking and hike. - [ ] Wear swimwear underneath your clothing. When you get to the waterfall, there is a pool of water you are able to swim in. - [ ] Bring a backpack/secure bag with water and snacks! You will need it! - [ ] Bring towels and leave them in the car. At the end of the day, when stripping off your wet shoes and socks the towels come in handy. *** For reference, our groups ages ranged from 52 to approximately early 70's.
