The serving size of the bowl is good enough for 2 people (in my opinion). Overall the experience was good. Cute little restaurant with not over the top japanese decor. They do have a bar and serve alcoholic beverages. Just came here for a quick lunch on the way back to Kapaa from Wailea Canyon. I ordered the shoyu ramen and my boyfriend ordered the seafood ramen. The broth for both the bowls were very flavorful and not too oily. The noodles for each bowl were actually different from each other. The shoyu ramen had the traditional ramen noodles while the seafood ramen had the thinner type of noodles. The seafood ramen did have a good amount of seafood in it. In hindsight I probably would have ordered the seafood ramen just because I really enjoyed the flavor more than the shoyu. The shoyu was still good, but it was nothing that I haven't had before ... kind of average I guess. The staff was very friendly and were attentive with drinks. I also had a couple of questions and out waitress happily answered without any signs of frustration. Overall, great place, good food, friendly staff. Can't really go wrong with it. read more

We have been to this island at least 10 times and this last trip was our first time ever trying this place. We were starving and just wanted to have some soup and this place hit the spot! The service was spot on and the food was delicious! This isn't anything fancy. This was a very inexpensive place that reminded me of a little hole in the wall teriyaki joint that specializes in ramen soup. For that, I give them 5 stars! This was a place we found on Yelp because we were very hungry. We each had a bowl of seafood ramen and shared a side order of mochiko chicken. The broth was delicious and not salty. The food was pretty good. You get a lot of food with the combos for a good price. However, the service is not that great... I understand that the two waitresses didn't exactly speak English too well, but because of the language barrier, they got our order wrong. Anyway I don't know if I'll really pit that on them. Huge turn around for this location. Owners are the same but definitely the right choice for the location. My favorite is the seafood ramen. Kids love the mini shoyu ramen. It's big enough. Order the Jumbo gyoza. Not the regular. The Regular is too small in my opinion. The service can be a little spotty but be patient for this is Kauai. Enjoy! We always do! read more

This place is mediocre at best. It's not true Japanese ramen. It's run by Chinese people, which may explain why it's not good ramen at all. I ordered the cha siu ramen and it was barely palatable. The broth was a very dark and overly salty mess. Cha siu is supposed to be a beautiful red colour. Not this stuff. It was brown and somewhat gummy in texture. Because it was a Friday night, when no one seems to want to cook dinner, there was the typical wait for a table. However, there was also a wait for, of all things, water! All of the restaurants I've ever been to have served water right after you're seated. Here, we were served water only a few minutes before our food arrived! To top it off, we got our food BEFORE our eating utensils. Yup, our ramens were already getting cold before we even got our chopsticks and spoons. As for the food itself, honestly, it was mediocre at best. My daughter said she can make better ramen with a Sapporo saimin package. The gyoza was probably from the freezer and not freshly made. And the fried rice tasted more like the oil it was cooked in than rice itself. Despite these negatives, there are a couple positives. I ordered a mini ramen, mini curry plate, and four pieces of gyoza for only $8.50, so the prices are reasonable. And the beef in the curry was really tender. Curry is my kind of comfort food. My favorite dish here is katsu curry with fried rice. I sometimes like the get the side order of deep fried gyoza to eat with my curry. Has bar seating for quick seating. You can also fried rice Ala carte for dinner at home or for a potluck (I did this for a gathering and everyone loved it! No leftovers). We had the Mochiko chicken, mapo tofu ramen (not my idea), and some edamame. I'll withhold judgment on the mapo tofu ramen, but the chicken tasted like leftovers that had been refried. I was a leathery grease bomb. It came out far too fast to have been cooked fresh. The edamame also tasted like it was pre-cooked and left out for a long time before it was warmed up again. The miso flavored base tasted acidic. The char siu was rubbery and flavorless. The fried rice was very oily. The servers spoke Chinese, so it's possible this is a Chinese-operated restaurant, which could explain why it didn't taste like authentic Japanese ramen to me. read more

Feel good food... Especially on a cold day... I always get the combo a... Mini ramen, mini fried rice and gyoza... A lot of food, and I can never finish... My daughter gets the chicken katsu curry which she loves, the chicken is always so crunchy and just the right amount of breading... My husband gets the won ton ramen... It has 6 pieces or more of won ton... And they're open on Sunday... A rare occasion here on Kauai... My only complaint, I wish they were in Lihue, I'd be there every week!!! read more
