In town for a college visit and stopped in for some ramen. Quaint spot on a strip with a parking lot. The restaurant is small and quiet but clean. Service was good and the food was pretty tasty. We started with the beef kushiyaki, chashu tacos and a rocky shrimp roll while we waited for our entrees. The tacos were amazing, full of flavor, nice twist to a taco, meat was tender, sauce was sweet but tangy. The sushi was full of shrimp and spicy crab and had a nice size, if you're looking for a cooked roll. I had the spicy miso beef ramen and added shrimp. Not spicy as I would have liked, but still flavorful. Their spicy is on the mild side for all dishes. My son had the chicken katsu ramen which came with a side of chicken. He loved it, no complaints. My husband had a noodle dish (can't recall the name) with chicken, shrimp, beef and vegetables. Bold flavor with just a little spice. He cleaned his plate. Overall, we agreed we would return. Today I ordered the pork egg rolls and wasn't happy with them. They were cooked perfectly and the outer shell was crispy but the pork had a strong after taste and smell which was a turn off. Food is GREAT! Very good size portions! The Tornado roll was VERY GOOD, our new favorite! The Seafood ramen was good, but very fishy.

Our take out order was ready upon arrival. I loved the presentation of the ramen! The noodles were separated from the piping hot broth, so that the noodles aren't soggy. The containers they came in had the restaurant's name emblazoned on the side. Nice marketing! On to the food! The spicy miso ramen wasn't spicy at all and we didn't care for the flavor either. However, the shoyu ramen hit the spot. The gyoza was standard but the spicy tuna roll was terrible. The texture of the minced tuna wasn't appealing and the flavor wasn't great either. Not spicy at all. There was also too much rice. This isn't a sushi restaurant, so I wasn't expecting much in regards to the spicy tuna roll. However, if you're thinking about it, get your sushi fix elsewhere. I'd come back to try out other things on the menu - just not their sushi. read more

2nd Ramen Spot we've tried. Trynna find a place that reminds us of home. I don't think that will ever happen unless we cook it ourselves. Nevertheless, the Bowls my Daughter & I had were both flavorful. The dashi for my Seafood Ramen was hot and the bowl was loaded w/flavor! The pan-fried gyoza was on point 4sure! My Daughter said her katsu was more like a tempura batter rather than crunchy w/panko flakes. Maybe it was the sauce, maybe??? I ordered online via their website. The process was easy; however, the restaurant does not update the app to let you know that they have finished your order. I was sitting my car for quite some time before I decided to go in and check and found out my food had been ready for a while. I ordered the Buddha Roll ($6.99) and Vegetable Ramen ($9.95). The Buddha roll was really good and filling. The yams were cooked perfectly, not too hard and not too mushy. Grade = A I requested a spicy vegetable ramen and they honored my request. The level of heat was nice. The variety of vegetables were great. The broth had carrots and cabbage, while the bowl had corn, scallions, noodles and some other things I can't name. I have ate at Katsu multiple times. Typically their food is great and I have no complaints. I ordered their Udon combination noodles for dinner last night through delivery with door dash. After two bites, I was very disappointed. There was absolutely no flavor anywhere. None. The food was so incredibly bland I couldn't eat it. I called the restaurant and explained my situation how I typically love their food and have never had a problem until now. I asked to bring back my full container of food for a refund. The lady on the phone, who was supposedly the manager, told me that she would talk to the chef and call me back. This is all she said. I never received a call back and this problem was not solved. I did not cause a fuss, just asked for a refund. For the price I paid, I would have liked to be able to eat food with flavor. The way that this situation was handled (not at all) has lost Katsu a customer. I will not be back or ordering ever again. read more

We came for a late lunch, and was immediately greeted and seated at a table in a cozy atmosphere. We got our drinks, the matcha milk tea with boba was very good. The service was very attentive. The appetizers missed the mark, fried calamari was not seasoned, the mini taco were a bit to salty, if the creamy croquettes had more crab it would have been a hit, the black garlic ramen had a deep flavor but this to was salty, the tonkotsu was good, but the seared salmon roll stole the show, very flavorful. As a Doordasher that was waiting for over an hour and several other dashers waiting 2 or more hours I'm talking almost 20 other dashers with two orders just to be told are orders weren't even put into the kitchen yet. Went to Katsu for the first time tonight and it was amazing! The vibes were great and they played Naruto on the tv at the bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Yakitori as an appetizer. It was good w a yummy, sweet, teriyaki-like sauce. I got the Shoyu udon w shrimp tempura for my meal. It was heavenly. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the broth was delicious, and the shrimp were perfectly crispy. My only complaint was that the soup was a teensy bit on the salty side, so if you're sensitive to salt you should probably stay away from the shoyu. Other than that, 10/10 would recommend! read more

We had a party of 6, however they bunched us up at two tables that each usually sit 2 people. It was about an hour and a half before closing. The place wasn't busy at all. Ramen was okay. Lacked the depth of flavor I usually get from Jinya or Tiger Den. I wish they would have put some fried onion or more green onions. I do appreciate that the broth wasn't Overly salty. The charsiu pork was nice and tender too. The soup spoons they use are kind of difficult I eat with. The angle of the spoon forces me to raise my hand a lot higher than I normally would. If you like light food then this is the type of Ramen you'd likely prefer. I on the other hand have a southern palate which craves complex salty broths. I was super duper excited to hear of this place when it opened because I am a long time lover of anything Japanese. I heard that the chef came all the way from Japan to inject his authentic cuisine into a land of fried things that are fried again or in a puddle of roux (which by the way I love just as much). I bought the black garlic ramen, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki. I was SOO excited to taste REAL okonomiyaki as every article I read about Japanese food says this is a must try. The ramen was light. Light on seasoning, oil, garlic, and salt. Which is okay and I have also read that some places in Japan serve their broths like this. The noodles were good. The sides however were a bit lacking and I feel as if the chashu was a bit undercooked. The takoyaki was cold even though I received my order not long after placing it. They serve it Osaka style (crispy outside gooey inside). But the fact that it was cold made it a little harder to eat because it in its nature is a fishy/seafoody tasting appetizer. Being cold also took away from the crispy outside. The okonomiyaki was good but a bit cool as well. I don't have too much to complain about this but it did have a very seafood heavy flavor as well. Overall I think the food was decent but could use more seasoning and should have been hotter. The fish/seafood flavor is strong it appears in their appetizers so be forewarned about that (which is not a bad thing, it is just not preferred by some.) read more

The ramen burger was flavorful but I had to use a knife and fork the bottom bun that is made of noodles got very soft but was still good. Shocked at how disgusting the customer service of this establishment is. I ordered and PAID for two entrees and a order of gyoza and my friend was there before closing to pick up the order. He hadn't noticed that the child "working" there forgot to give him an entire entree. By this time, the restaurant had just closed. He called them to tell them he was missing part of the order to which she responded to with attitude & obvious aggravation, telling him "well yea. It's right here" and to "hurry up" because it's after close. They have been closed for less than 10 minutes by this point. On our way there, she calls us FOUR TIMES asking are we coming? How far are you? Hurry up because she has been waiting for 30 min. It was 9:20 she was waiting for 10 min for a mistake that SHE MADE. We make it to the restaurant and this impatient little girl *is sitting in her car* waiting for us to find MY FOOD THAT I PAID FOR tied to the door. It's 9:30 by now. Ask any *real* closing waitress and she'll tell you she doesn't leave before 1 1/2 after close. This girl is lucky to be paid by a place that lets you leave at closing time, but instead, can't seem to wait 15 mins for a mistake that SHE made. My girlfriend and I have come here on multiple occasions and only have positive things to say about Katsu. Friendly atmosphere with great service. The servers tend to always be around but still give you the space necessary to enjoy your meal. We usually get the pan-fried gyoza for appetizers and their spicy miso ramen. We LOVE their gyoza and we can't stop eating their ramen. We would highly recommend Katsu Ramen to anyone and everyone. My boyfriend and I went to this place for the first time a few weeks ago, it was not very crowded as it was around the holidays, but the food was super delicious. I ended up getting the Black Garlic Ramen, while he got the Tonkatsu Ramen. As long as you add a little bit of spice to the Garlic Ramen, it very well balances out the richness of the Ramen. Because we arrived a little before that, we didn't wait long for our food. I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and my husband had the black garlic ramen. Both were delicious.
