Can you say slow service? We got here probably an hour before it was closing and it showed. They all seemed kind of checked out for the evening. Waitress did not listen and I received hot sake instead of cold. I didn't even want to ask her to replace it because I knew it would take forever to come back. The food and my friends' drinks came way before mine. The food left much to be desired. read more

Ok. So, this actually pains me to write. When I lived in Youngsville, this was absolutely my favorite sushi restaurant. The wife and I would eat often, every two weeks or so. Hadn't been back in a while because we moved to Breaux Bridge. Well, visited yesterday.... It practically sucked. Literally, it was just horrible. Got Sat a table immediately but waited almost 15 mins before the waitress took our drink order (all waters). She returned with the waters about 5 mins later and took our app order. She never checked on us until 20 mins later when she brought our apps. Told her to give us around 5 mins and then we'd place our food order. Well, another 20 + minutes goes by and no waitress. I had to go find her. She takes our food order and fills our waters. It took 40 minutes to make 2 sushi rolls and a Binto box. 40 MINUTES !! Also, in that time, no waitress. When she finally delivered our food, I asked for a to-go box and the check. 20 minutes later, still waiting for the to-go box and the check. FOOD - Absolutely horrible!! The sushi had zero flavor and fell apart! It you're a sushi lover, we all hate sushi that falls apart. I just put the chopsticks down and ate with a spoon. My oldest made me stop at a gas station because it went straight to her gut!! With that said - I (we) will never again visit this location. It used to be so good and I don't know what happened. read more

Samurai is my go to takeout sushi spot in town. I live nearby, so I pick it up at least once a week. Theres another location across town for those closer to the mall! This is my "sushi roll spot". I can't pass up their rolls. The menu offers a wide variety of rolls and they are ALL delicious. Fun fact - I created the Jules Roll about 7 years ago. It was recently added to the real full time menu along with other "secret rolls" created by other frequent flyers in town. Make sure to try it out! read more

Always the best freshest sushi in Lafayette. A gem that been here for a long time. Never been disappointed ever!!!!

We decided to try this place, and my word what a pleasant surprise, great atmosphere and customer service, and the food shined. The appetizers were awesome especially the Salmon, and the entree Shrimp Tempura was special, I'm still wondering how they fried with such perfection, not any presence grease. Overall great experience will definitely return and recommend. read more

Do not eat here!!! We assumed the food would have been cooked--they told us you have to state you want chicken and steak cooked. The food is undercooked & suspect at best. This so called beef was ordered well done & turned out to be rare and not the ribeye described. Our daughter threw up after eating two bites of rubbery chicken. When called they refused to give our money back and insisted we brought the food back literally 10 minutes from picking it up. When I arrived they threatened to call the cops for me recording their horrible response. The so called owner cannot speak for himself a manager had to tell him what to do and say. Raw undercooked food. I really hope the true owner makes things right. read more

Samurai Sushi Bar Two - rice, meat and vegetables - Sushi Bars Near Me - Broussard, Louisiana

I'm Asian from San Francisco California and I was very surprised by the high rating of this sushi bar. The ambience is fine, and the service is good. However, the food is highly disappointing. I ordered pork steamed dumplings which came out cold and soggy. In fact, all of my sushi came out very cold. I ordered spicy tuna, which came out as a tiny piece of raw tuna and hot sauce on top--NOT how it's traditionally made. The rice isn't cooked right and excessively goey. Every sushi roll in the entire menu has crab. Crab is usually artificial and often an allergy so that was frustrating for me. So don't come if you can't eat crab--not a lot of options for you. I'd recommend yoka sushi or tsunami instead. Will not come back. read more

Went there for the first time for lunch, and ordered the Sashimi bento box. was highly disappointed. Almost twice the price compared to other sushi locations in the area, and the size of the sashimi was just sad. They were a little larger then a quarter. the thin sliced lemon they used for a garnish was bigger the any of the sashimi. Top it off it took them 30 minutes to prepare our food. Not somewhere to stop for lunch if you are working. Not to mention the service was slow and the waiters kept leaning over our food to turn in orders to the sushi bar, when all they had to do was take one more step. We were the only two at the bar and was sitting in the middle so there was room on both sides of us. read more

Very good food and service. Can't believe I waited this long to try it. Best sushi I've had in Broussard.

This place is delicious! I've been multiple times and the most recent for takeout and it's great every visit. Favorites are the salmon nigiri, super crunchy roll, rainbow roll & the red dragon with raw salmon instead of smoked (personal preference). read more

A great place for lunch and dinner. Their Combo Fried Rice is phenomenal. In my opinion it is the best in Lafayette Parish. Today I also had the LSU and Red Dragon sushi rolls and they are very good too! And then there is the service! Very nice, and knowledgeable staff who are very quick and make frequent checks back to the table. Overall one of the places I'll be bringing guest for dinner read more

Excellent sushi selection! Service was top notch! Clean, professional and welcoming staff.

Very disappointing tonight, usually very fresh and great service as we come here often. But tonight the sushi wasn't very fresh tasting at all and my husband received a refill but I could never get one for myself the gentleman waiting on us always seemed to have blinders on as he walked by us... very disappointing read more

Great sushi and great service! The restaurant was very clean. Will definitely be coming back

Had a bad experience here last night eating with wife. First off one appetizer was served right away and the other was served 15 minutes later. Next wife ordered sushi and I ordered mandarin chicken. The sushi was served in about 10 minutes and other course never arrived. Wife orders Martini with Grey goose and gets hit with a $8 up charge. We ate there the previous week and ordered and had no up charge. Bottom line is food should come out at the same time and you should get the food that you ordered. After an hour and still not have food is in acceptable. Invest the money well as this will be the last of mine you'll ever get. read more

Perfect middle of the road sushi restaurant. If you don't want to go to a fancier place and or don't want to treck into Lafayette, Samurai is the best sushi in broussard. The rolls are all pretty good. The atmosphere is very relaxed and kid friendly! read more

I've returned to the area for business and I couldn't help but bring a buddy to try out this wonderful gem....still making yummy art and that delicious fresh cut wasabi read more

Good rolls, good service, fun chefs and their happy hour (4-7pm) has great discounts.

The freshest and largest sushi rolls you will ever eat! I compare their quality of freshness to Benihana. That says a lot. This is the only place we eat sushi and the only place we recommend to friends. Mr. Tam, the owner, is very friendly and the staff is even friendlier. The prices are very affordable. The place on Ambassador is hidden in the back of the shopping center, which is why I think most people don't know about it. read more

Very fresh and tasty sushi at a good price! The owner and staff are very great hosts. This was our 1st time and will definitely be back! We have eaten at just about all sushi places in Lafayette and this is tops. read more

Favorite sushi ! The crab salad is the best. Strawberry diamond and Ricky roll are two of my all time favorites . Laid back place .

Good place. Went on a Wednesday night and it was dead, so everyone was standing around. Kinda made me uncomfortable.. But food was good (seaweed salad, tuna and salmon nigiri, and Hawaiian roll) . A little over priced. read more

I've only been here a few times because I do not care for their sushi...they DO have impeccable service and their teriyaki salmon is the bomb!!! read more

Our absolute favorite sushi restaurant! Delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced! This is our "go-to" dinner when we don't feel like cooking. We order "for pick-up" often and also dine-in. We always order sushi, soup, and salads. Tam, the owner, has high-standards for his menu and we love it! read more

This is a great little sushi place. The staff was great; we loved our waitress! I personally do not love sushi, anywhere, but everyone else in our party said it was the BEST sushi they have had in town. They also had non-sushi food on their menu, which was great! I loved the chicken fried rice. Soo yum! We had a great time, with great food, and the prices were really good too. We all made plans to go back again. read more

Intended to go to the best known sushi restaurant in the area, but it was closed on the Saturday afternoon before Mother's Day. We chose based on our location that day, and with little research, wound up here at Samurai. How lucky we were!!! Unbelievable service and food. Spring rolls were unique and we re-ordered after gobbling up the first. Four of us could not agree on which of the many special sushi rolls were the best. If you are lucky, you will get Diana as your server (or Princess Diana as she prefers) She was awesome. We shall return!!!! read more

Lower priced than many other options in Laf for better quality sushi. I've been coming here for about 7 years now. I go here alone after bad days at work; sushi is my comfort food. There's always a quiet corner for me to zen out in. Never a rude waitstaff, never an imperfect roll. This place is wonderful. read more

My girlfriends and I went out for dinner and we were sadly unimpressed. The restaurant wasn't very busy the night we attended. We were a group of 10 girls looking to have a relaxed night without any children. The service was VERY slow. The server was nice enough but it was obvious that she did not either want to be around our party for whatever reason or didn't like us. It was roughly 15-20 minutes every time we asked for new drinks, condiments, wanted the checks, etc. Two of my friends ordered a meal with avocado as one of the staple ingredients. The dishes were served without the avacado..when they questioned the server, she stated "the chef didn't feel like preparing it ." I'M SORRY, WHAT??!! The chef didn't feel like doing his job?? I couldn't believe she actually told us the truth. All of our jaws dropped. Being the nice group of girls that we are we said it was ok, it wasn't her fault, and we would eat it anyway. After we payed, we wanted to take a group picture outside, we asked the hostess if she would mind snapping a quick picture, she told my friend "No, I have closing duties to do." I nearly hit the ground I was so appalled. Finally, an employee felt bad enough and took a picture for us. I'm so sad they chose to behave this way. We brought 10 patrons to them on a slow night who each spent a decent amount of money and we were treated horribly. I'm not one to make an assumption without weighing all the circumstances, but the service at this place was AWFUL. I recommend the Samurai in Lafayette, I've always been impressed with them and they've always been super sweet. What a shame for the Youngsville location.. I gave the place 2 stars because the food wasn't too bad..but the bad service just outweighs that. read more
