I'm not sure why the 1 star person got such bad burns, but yes, you should get a lower current or frequency if you're just starting out and let them know about any skin problems. Both ladies are so professional and I have seen results with each treatment done. I was referred to by two friends and I'm happy I was. Hair that was once unruly and a pain to look at is finally gone! They have an ice machine and will numb the areas that need to be zapped, which is always quite helpful when you're in pain, like I usually am. Like their website says : - arrive early, if you're going to be late, call them! They have things to do and could probably book a last minute client if possible. - bring cash or a check ( yes, they take checks!!!) I've always been pleased with their service and would highly recommend.

On the other hand, what I at first perceived to be chatty friendliness soon began to feel extremely uncomfortable and invasive. She asks an inordinate amount of questions, nosy ones, and doesn't back off even when it's clear the client doesn't want to answer. She also makes sweeping generalizations about entire groups of people and when you're lying flat on your back, at the mercy of her zapping needle, it's not really the time to get into a heated discussion. She also once surprised me with a significant price increase that there had been no warning about. For me, the tipping point was when she kept insisting I must have a disorder or condition because I'm overweight and have facial hair and inquiring time after time if I'd seen someone about it. I assume she was referring to PCOS, which many thin people have as well, but it really doesn't matter. She is not a medical professional and I did not come here for a diagnosis. I came for electrolysis. Had she said, "I don't think your hair growth is responding to electrolysis and I don't want you to waste your money if it's not helping. You might want to see an endocrinologist to see if there's an underlying cause before you continue," and then left it to me, that would've been entirely different. I stopped coming here after that, and it's a decision I do not regret.

I am familiar with the neighborhood but not with this specific location. After arriving, I was confused because it was a hair salon. On the left side of the window though, it reads Laser Aesthetics Studio. I decided to enter. Inside, there are women getting their hair done. Expect to be given weird looks as a newcomer. But don't worry, you're not there for them ;) I asked for Zhanna and they had me wait towards the back. Although not your typical medspa and space is limited, the area is clean and she sanitizes your glasses with an alcohol pad before service. (Which should be done at all laser places. If it isn't, that's a clear indication that you should LEAVE) Zhanna is very thorough and doesn't rush your session. I have about four more sessions to go and I'm looking forward to the results!

Since my hair is blond and was just freshly colored to a platinum blond, I asked several times if the treatment would change the color of my hair and make it yellow. She assured me that not only would it not change my color, but will make the blond look cleaner and brighter. I asked if she has done it before on blonds and if any of them had their hair turn yellow and she again said no. Next,she demanded a prepayment of $50 through zelle. I explained that I don't feel comfortable sending cash to a person I never met and she was surprized to hear that. It should have been a sign not to go there. Should have listened to my gut. When I came, she again re assured me that my hair will not turn yellow or change color in any way. She did the treatment and I did smell an ingredient that was previously put in my hair and turned it yellow. I asked if she is sure my hair will not change color and she said not to worry. When she was done, it did look yellow, but I attributed it to the bad lighting. However, when I got home and looked in the mirror, I realized that not only my hair turned yellow, but also greenish/yellowish. I am attaching a picture so you can see my platinum hair I came in with and greenish/yellowish I ended up with. When I texted Olga, she said that usially blonds don't turn yellow, bit my hair did unfortunately (so she already saw it before O even left the salon). She said that toner should fix it, but from experince I lnew it wouldn't. I sent pictires to my colorist and he wa horrified by the results as he just colored my hair couple of days prior. He said only highlights would fix it. I told Olga I wanted money back because she ruined my color and now I had to get highlights and it cost a lot. Her reply was- no money back , you don't like it, then sue me. Which I will. Her incompetency cost me $170 and cost of hoghlights to fix it.
