I know...very difficult to do but definitely not impossible. I was more than willing to take the patient route and invest the money necessary to be reborn again. So Tashi took me in. She was pleasant and seemed very confident. I instantly trusted her. She tested a piece of hair to make sure that I liked the result. I did. It was a nice caramel color and wasn't brassy burnt orange which I hate. I scheduled an appointment and we dived right into the transformation. Three foils later and I ended up with chunky, trashy looking highlights. I had platinum blonde (some white), roots about four inches down that engulfed my head like a lemon flavored snow cone. The next seven inches...dare to ask...my favorite...the one...the only...brassy burnt orange. Lovely. The rest of my hair finished into a deep dark abyss. I had tried to communicate to Tashi about the chunky highlights and darker ends after the second foil but she was combative and said, "it's a process". I noticed a decline in the service and her attitude. Tashi makes you pass her the foils to assist her in doing your hair. Weird right? Well by the third foil, she was so thrilled with doing my hair that she was ripping the foils out of my hand and smashing them into my head. What did Tashi think when it was finished? I wouldn't know. I didn't want to spend the $60 to blow dry so I left with my hair soaking wet. She didn't even test a piece to check the color. The looks from people indicated that they thought I had taken up a second job on the late night streets of Chelsea. So I went back. I tried to ask her to fix it. She became furious and started yelling at me in front of my daughters. I told her I wasn't trying to fight, just wanted to look normal. She called me cheap and said she'd give me back some of my money. Tashi then said the reason I looked horrible was because I didn't want to spend the money. I spent $600 with her. How much to look like a lady then???!!

And then she's like, "$55" if it weren't for thanksgiving tomorrow I would've really asked," are you sure about that because that pain and this frizz that I have at the top of my head is not worth the price you're asking me." So I went to my old stylist in NY and she told me that there were huge gaps in the back and that it hadn't been thinned out like I'd asked. It took her an hour and a half and 3 inches all around to fix it. Long story short: If you're looking for friendly service, go here. If you're looking for a quality haircut, look elsewhere.
