In the middle of no where in Citrus County is this fabulous restaurant with a great chef. The rack Of lamb was so flavorful and the lobster risotto was unique. My friend had short rib pasta was beyond description- definitely worth the try! We topped it off with crème brûlée....so good. A must go and try place! You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

We love this place. Service is good and friendly. The chef is excellent. We have had the fish of the moment before and it was delicious. Tonight we are having salad that was so good and fresh. Drinks are mixed properly. My ribeye was cooked to perfection and the vegetables crisp. My wife's risotto was creamy and delicious. We saved room for cake and homemade ice cream. They re-opened April 4th! The food is expertly prepared and delicious. Had the chicken breast entree and beet salad starter. AMAZING!! My strawberry basil cocktail was very good as well. Your Yelp page says open, but I just drive by and you are not. For people new to the area they may make a wasted drive . So change your hours on Yelp . I did eat here once and it was good but definitely the most expensive meal I've had in the area. I don't know that it was worth what we paid. I had the lobster risotto. Make sure you reserve a table and time or you might get turned away. I had the ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection but was a fatty cut of meat still an enjoyable experience. My beautiful wife had the scallops they were plated and cooked to perfection you couldn't ask for a better meal. The friend we took with us had the filet it was also a home run. We ordered the pork belly and cheese board as starters and they were both very good. For desert we had the creme brûlée and the ice cream & sorbet and they were both to die for. The only drawback is when they bring the check out you might need a co-signer. read more

Ok so...My wife and I had fish for dinner here tonight. I had the panko herb crusted Chilean Sea Bass and she had the Red Snapper over puréed cauliflower with citrus foam. Let's redneck this thing down for common folk. First of all, who in the cornbread puddin is gonna lick up a mouth full of sea foam and go, "Man! That's some darn fine foam!!"... Thats seems about as useless as salt on jello. Just sayin...But it sure was purdee!!! However, the food was pretty cotton pickin good tasting. And like i said, it was definitely pretty to look at, no doubt. I guess it could double as a work of art if you weren't hungry. Cheaper than buying a sculpture or a painting. May not last long though... Ugh! I digress ... Let's get back on target peeps. Anyway, we will be back there. The service was pretty great, the food delicious and the temperature was absolutely spot on for me. I do enjoy it when a restaurant is not terrified to set their thermostat lower than 78 degrees! On a side note...I did go here for lunch a day or so ago and ordered the crab cake sammich. My only critique would be to lightly seer or toast the potato bun and put a larger tomato on it. They gave me the runt of the litter. I asked him if he had a sister or something but he never answered me. Oh well, at least I tried. I do recommend this place. Everyone should treat theirselves to an accomplished chef with an obvious skill set and talent for not only making something look good...But also taste good. As i said earlier...We will be back!!! Food may be good but overly priced with small portions. I once order the dish described as shirt rib with mashed cauliflower. The dish came out with a piece of short rib and may be a spoon of mashed cauliflower spread onto the plate as a decoration! The short rib was tender and flavorful. While off the beaten path it was well worth our 7 mile drive Dealing with the Corona Virus 50% capacity was in effect and thankfully we had made reservations. We started with Grey Goose martinis priced at a reasonable $7. The menu has 13 starters The four we tasted were all fabulous. Sea Bass was the "fish of the moment " and was tender, moist , well seasoned and delicious. The rest of our foursome all enjoyed their entrees and we quickly were sharing amongst us. OMG! This place is INCREDIBLE!!!! It simply doesn't belong here!!!! It reminds me of a hidden gem that you might find on the Island of Maui with some world renowned chef!!! Wow!!!! Everything from the octopus starter to creme brûlée dessert blew us away. And a nice respectable wine selection to compliment the awesome food. This place belongs in Miami, Orlando, or the very least Tampa, certainly not Lecanto or Crystal River. Have eaten here a couple of times, and last night was the best! The martini was very dry and cold, just the way they should be, the salad was very fresh and flavorful and the pasta was delish! They were short staffed, but our server was very nice and did her best. This is actually one of the few nice restaurants in the Crystal Rivet area, and I definitely recommend it in most ways except one, which is that I think it is a bit overpriced. read more

My friends and I have eaten at Katch Twenty-two, twice last month. It is the best around! Food and service are perfect. I had the seafood and risotto, it was so delicious. I have eaten there many times in the past and am working my way through the menu,that is quite varied. Our waitress was so good. Knew how everything was prepared and gave us a taste of the soup before we ordered it. I cannot say enough about the dining experience there. Looking forward to next time!! read more

Wow! My mom brought me to Katch Twenty-Two for my birthday yesterday and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I'm blown away. We both enjoyed our meals and didn't have one complaint at all. That's pretty unheard of for dining in this area. These people know how to cook, and they know how to provide great service. I love that they are the best restaurant in Citrus County and probably beyond that and yet they aren't arrogant about it. Some fine dining places are so uncomfortable and stiff and they act a little above it. This place is not like that at all. It's very relaxed and comfortable. We are definitely hooked and I simply cannot wait to go back! I can't stop saying how delicious it was. Sorry, no pictures, we dug in and by the time we were finished there was nothing left on our plates. Not a crumb. I never clean my plate completely when I dine out. That's a true testament to how special this place is. Oh! I had the filet mignon with an added lobster tail and my mom had the salmon. Oh! And they actually know how to cook a steak the way you like it. I can't tell you how many times I've had issues with ordering steak out. Even steakhouses can't get a medium steak right! It either comes out too rare or terribly overcooked. I can't say enough! Thank God they came to Citrus County. We needed this! Katch Twenty-Two is a breath if fresh air! I was visiting the area and had to give this place a try. Not only is it beautifully decorated, the food is SUPERB! Everything was better than the next. I highly recommend the beet stack. It is a combo of chopped beets and whipped goat cheese molded into a stack. It was delicious. Do not pass this place up! read more

Rarely give if ever 5 stars, however with the current situation I salute the owner for being open for business and serving delicious food. Ordered the shrimp poyboy and the mojo pork sandwich. Absolutely an explosion of flavor. Pork was melt in your mouth tender with a hint of citrus. Shrimp poyboy was tender and delicious with perfect amount of crunch. What a gem of a restaurant in the middle of nowhere Florida! The owners have done their best to make the inside of this unassuming place quite attractive- a big step up from when it was the Rusty Duck - and service is excellent. The menu has a pretty even split between fish and meat, with a few vegetarian options as well. Everything we tried was spectacular- the pork belly appetizer was perfectly crispy yet tender and the sauce was perfect to wipe up with the yummy rolls; the corvino was flaky and served over a delicious carrot purée; the sea bass had a great crust; the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender; and the house-made vegetable pasta was silky. I had the Key Lime pie - perfection- and the rest of our group got the crème brûlée, which they loved. The martini also was perfect. The wine by the glass selection is very limited but the food was so amazing I won't hold it against them. Prices are high for Lecanto, but quite reasonable for the quality of the food and the portion size. I look forward to coming here again on our next visit. read more

My husband surprised me with reservations here for our anniversary in early November . It was so amazing. I had the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. My husbands fish was amazing as well. No only was the food absolutely wonderful, so was the service. We were seated promptly, and at one point they offered to move us because the light above us was flickering (we hadn't said a word about it) the focaccia bread they serve us so tasty we actually asked if it were possible to buy some to share at thanksgiving.. they said yes! Chose Katch Twenty Two to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Made a reservation Friday afternoon and glad we did, or we wouldn't of got a table. We had sea bass and a fillet for dinner. The sea bass was cooked just right. The best I have ever had anywhere in the country. My wife enjoyed her fillet. The Brussels and potatoes were just as delicious. Enjoyed Creme brûlée for dessert that was equally delicious. The food is as good as it gets anywhere. An amazing chef. Really enjoyed our meals and look forward to dining here more often. read more

Everything from the service to the food start to finish was perfect. We made a reservation and Kayla was professional, pleasant to speak with. When we walked in a few minutes early the hostess didn't hesitate to seat us, she even came back with waters right away as our server was just finishing up at another table. Our server Mark was personable and made excellent suggestions. The timing of the food being brought out to us was neither rushed nor left us wondering if they forgot about us. Now, let's talk about the food... Serious compliments to the chef. For apps we chose the tuna tartare, a nice portion of fresh tuna with some accessories that were well balanced in flavor, color as well as texture. Cedar key clams, which my mom said was as close to a really good clam chowder flavor profile as she's gotten down here. The clams were plentiful and the broth was rich and she used the house made bread to sop it up. The soup of the day which was a cream of onion soup. (Never heard of that? Me neither.) But my dad almost licked the bowl. Our entrees consisted of the Chilean Sea Bass which was a huge portion (lucky for me) and basically melted in my mouth, but has an excellent crispness from the crumb topping, it sat on top of some super creamy mashed potatoes and a mango beurre blanc sauce. (Again, a what? Trust me. It's delicious) Mom had the bistro tender cooked rare and it was rare! Just like she likes it. She ate the whole thing! And my Dad had the mojo pork tenderloin which he also at every last morsel off his plate. I managed to snag a bite and the spices were totally infused throughout I'm not sure how that's possible but it was so flavorful! So we obviously ordered desserts. Key lime pie was so smooth and creamy, not too sweet, not too tart, and the chocolate torte was like a fancy truffle (think the one that starts with a G) was blown up lighter then air and sprinkled with gold. Seriously there was gold on it. The best part about all of these meals is that they were all so different from the plate next to it, but individually they were all really strong plates. And everything on the plates were there on purpose and meant to be together. Visually speaking they were beautiful to look at, the flavors and textures all complimented each other. Great food and service in a down to earth atmosphere! My partner and I are visiting from Oregon and tried this place on a whim. We are big foodies and truly appreciate a well executed meal with a creative menu. We didn't expect too much from the food in this rural setting, but Katch twenty two blew us away! We had seen the menu online and were excited because it sounded right up our alley! The chef is a transplant from New Orleans, and that's always a good sign! When we drove up, we were a bit taken aback, as it seemed like the atmosphere would lead to some really solid hwy diner food, but not fine dining like the menu had presented. We were wrong!! Laurie was our server and was absolutely wonderful. She's a genuine and warm person with great timing and knowledge of the food. I'm pretty sure she's the best server we've ever had! Thanks Laurie!! The food was refreshingly creative, but not too lofty for the chef to execute. We truly enjoyed every bite! We ordered one of everything (so many dishes we had to take some home) The scallops were awesome, the mango butter on the ravioli made them so special, the octopus was flavorful and perfectly balanced, and the soup of the day (honey tomato bisque) is probably in my top 3 soups I've ever had. So simple and so perfect. My partner got the filet, and I got the short ribs. The flavor on both was excellent. Our only critique is that our meat was a bit overdone; so maybe order your dishes at a slightly less done temperature. (The local crowd is a bit older, so I'm sure they're cooked like that to appease them and avoid having dishes sent back for being "under done") If you're looking for a wonderful dining experience in an unassuming setting, look no further! Holy moly! Went here for family dinner. This is a MUST stop for any foodie around this area and farther. To start out I had the beet stack and I have to keep repeating I hate beets. I enjoyed this starter sooo much that I would order it again and again. For an entree I ordered the seafood risotto. This came jam packed with seafood from shrimp, scallops, and lobster. My mouth is water just typing this out, I wish to go back this instant! I would recommend you get a reservation this place has a max of 7 to 8 tables. The word has gotten around about this gem. What a Jewel of a place!! Super close to the breathtaking springs and scenery of this area in Florida! The food was absolutely exquisite and worth every single penny! From the starters to the Dessert. I mean, I'm telling you, everything was fried, sautéd, and baked to absolute perfection! This is a real foodie, must visit place! I like my steak well done, and this restaurant was the absolute best piece of steak I ever had. Not over cooked but perfectly seared shell, still moist and juicy for a well done steak, like cutting into butter, and delightfully tasteful. For an inch thick steak it was beautifully and evenly cooked. Whoever is in the kitchen is a master! If I'm in the area again, I'm for sure returning! Also, the decor of the restaurant was very unique and comfortable. Our waitress, Liz, was super nice and gave us great pointers and tips during our visit! She brought the food at a good pace and checked on us enough times so that it is not interrupting our meal. Btw, the horseradish aioli on that Ribeye will take you to another world!
