This place is the very definition of a hidden gem. I happened upon it while googling "cool gyms in Utah" a few months ago, hoping to find some sweet Black Friday deals. I had never heard of it before, but the Google reviews got me very excited. There were lots of remarks like "I can never move because I won't find a better gym than this." Now that I've been to The Training Room, I can't go back home to the East Coast unless they let me start a franchise there. For the base membership price (currently $110) you get unlimited access to the gym, which is fully equipped with everything you need for lifting, cardio, CrossFit style drills and so much more. It is so clean and never overcrowded! There are showers stocked with the relevant toiletries, including hair dryer (and diffuser!), cotton swabs, hair ties and bobby pins, etc. There is even towel service, so you don't have to bring your own with you and stuff a wet towel into your gym bag on the way out! In addition to that, the base membership gets you unlimited included childcare! I love that there's no additional fee for that. I'm not usually comfortable taking advantage of childcare anyway, as they are frequently overcrowded with babies, understaffed, and often don't look well cleaned. The childcare here is different. Just like the gym floor, it is never overflowing with people. The girls who work in there are so pleasant and mature. It's easy to see your babies if you want to, as the door is always open and there are even computers at the front desk showing camera footage of what's going on wherever babies are. They even do a "Movement Preschool" with structured activities and take-home crafts where they teach basic manners, colors and the alphabet! The BIGGEST sell for me on this membership is the fact that it comes with free, unlimited access to the on-site Sports Medicine services! You can make an appointment to go in and get a physical, sports massage, physical therapy for injuries, chiropractic adjustments, etc. It's the first gym I've seen to incorporate that and it is an absolute game changer. The fact that they give you access to those services plus everything else for only $110/mo is just bonkers. This is so long, but I could go on and on about this gym. Not only is it the bee's knees, it is also in fact the cat's pajamas. (Do people still say that?) Come join the club! Or don't, because IT IS MY PRECIOUS.

Brick Canvas yoga is a top notch, professional, and high quality studio, with certified instructors. I also take the hot Pilates and hot barre, both very worthwhile. They seemed a little distracted, but were very nice. It was my first time at this particular studio, but I have been to several other yoga studios in the past and while this one did have an upscale air to it, it also felt somewhat impersonal. The classes were packed with enthusiastic participants, but to the point where it made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the experience. The Kundalini class was super interesting and the instructor seemed knowledgeable. The gym is very clean and nice. I was just missing that cozy, intimate feeling that I've come to expect from really nice gyms/studios. We also got smoothies at the cafe upstairs and they were both excellent and the barista was super cute and accommodating!

Honestly did not have a very positive experience at Puré Barre Sandy. The instructors are super…read morenice, however what made it a negative experience was that two times I arrived 1 minute before class started and the door was already closed. And both times I was made felt bad and unwelcome when asking if I could still go in when the class had technically not even started. One of the times I was told "I am not sure because my manager is in class today." After these events I was told we had to be 5 min early to class to be able to join, however in the agreement that was emailed to me that was never stated, it even stated in PRINT you could be up to 5 min late. I was told it would be updated with that new information for future customers. Then on Sep.21, all panicking to not be 5 min early, I go to class EARLY for Empower class which is one of the ones you HAVE to be early for and then we don't start until 6:35 (5min late) because we are apparently "waiting for people" because "they could be in traffic". So certain people can be late, certain can't. And then you get charged or lose a class credit if you don't make it even if you try but show up and are late. Don't bother trying to call to let them know you will be late, still can't come in. Or so I was told this morning when I called because of the rain and traffic. This type of rigidness and disparity is personally just not for me. Additionally there is not a lot of ethnic diversity and the class times are limited and did not work very well with my schedule. Unless you don't have a job and can go in the morning or before 7pm this place is probably not for you. My personal experience, however glad that other people can enjoy it. Still in the 3 month contract so 2 of the months I haven't even gone despite having it paid. I personally just don't feel comfortable going there. However maybe it can be different for you:)

There's ample parking in the residential streets if unable to find any in front of the building (limited spots). You'll need to enter the building from the side; and then, take the stairs down once enter thru the front door. The studio and restroom (one) are super clean and bright. There are storage caddies to place your personal belongings in; and a filtered water faucet across. They provide clean towels near storage and inside the restroom if you forgot to bring yours. The staff at the front desk makes me feel so welcomed. All smiles and good energy, which makes such a difference! I've taken 3 different types of barre classes here and they're all challenging, fun, easy to follow, and fast-paced. What's so important to me is how the instructors provide training and correct my posture. I believe the right posture and movements make a difference for an optimal result. I feel amazing every time I take the class. One of the reasons why this studio makes me feel like it's something to look forward to.
