Fantastic little spot with fresh ingredients , flavourful momos. Clearly the food is made with love. Very flavourful, just the right amount of spice and filling portions. My partner enjoyed the dry version of chilli chicken. Tasty and not overly salty like a lot of other Asian takeout joints. The Himalayan style is just perfectly spiced. The Thai veggie rice looked small but once you dig in you wonder where the bottom is. Exceptional value for the quality of food here and price. I enjoyed the momo sizzler ( combo of noodle fresh , crispy veggies and a choice of chicken , beef or veggie momos). Great deal for $13.99. I really loved the gravy but wished they used a different noodle. This one taste like spaghetti which is just an odd texture with this meal. Nonetheless I'll definitely be back. The momos are truly top notch in the city (I've eaten at all the places in Parkdale) and I would go back repeatedly for those alone! Must try.

It's really 3.5 stars. I like the karma's Kitchen noodles and the Momos we ordered. Although the noodles were a tad burnt. I was disappointed with the Crispy beef. Was told it was slightly sweet but it was more salty then anything, and really dry and hard. It was like eating beef jerky. And the hot and sour soup was also really salty and spicy. I think I have a good tolerance for spice and thought it was really up there for this dish. I think I'd go back to try again with different dishes.

Delicious! They serve a variety of Nepali food! Small space but friendly service. My friend who came with us wanted authentic Nepali food and he said "reminds me of home and my childhood". We ordered a bunch of different momos - chili chicken momos, chili beef momos, Veg momos and Jhol momos. All of them were delicious and flavorful! Higgly recommend! Would return again.

Nepalese food has always been just ok for me. I grew up with dumplings and they're always available at the grocery store, so they're no big deal. Lunch deals are around $10 and it seems cheaper than the other restaurants in the area. I was thinking of going to Maha's, but $15 for a sandwich didn't sit right with me. Plus, I wanted something quicker! We ordered Butter Chicken w/ Naan, Beef Momos, & a Chai. Butter Chicken ($10) - It was not as creamy as the Indian version. And gravy was too sweet. Naan was more like a toasted pita. Momos ($10) - I liked these better than the Butter Chicken! Again, good, but not too different from other dumplings that I've had in the past. Both meals included a Chicken Broth. Chai ($2) - Too milky, not strong enough. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. And he even served us some complimentary samosas - most likely frozen. He also provided various sauces. He made a couple of mistakes on the bills, but changed it as soon as they were pointed out. No biggie. Decent value, but not a place that I'd drive out of my way for OR crave.

Lunch for two on a Saturday. Place was not very busy, though we came around 1:45 and a few tables were cleaning up. There are some seats near the window where you can kneel if you're looking for that kind of experience. Otherwise you'll get normal tables. Each seat comes with fork and knife, but they can offer chopsticks with a cute design. There's a lot of cultural decoration to look at while you wait, and you may be in for quite a wait. They have lunch specials that you can take advantage of. Note that they have specials listed outside near the front on a sign, as well as a separate list of specials on a piece of paper inside. I ordered a plate of shabhaley and a plate of chili momo. They tasted great, though the chili turned out to be ketchup or tomato sauce, rather than simply spicy momo. Can get pricey, $8.99 for three shabhaleys and $8.99 for the chili momo. I would recommend just getting the steamed or fried momo instead. One thing that really stood out was a jar of orange hot sauce they provide. I would put that in any meal if I could. The owner says it's very spicy but don't be afraid to try it since it tastes amazing. Another thing that stood out was the fact that the washrooms were well maintained.

I really enjoyed my first experience with Nepalese cuisine. Located on Gerrard tucked among a number of Indian restaurants, Karma's Kitchen restaurant is clean and bright, simply decorated. It is a casual restaurant where I could see it being great for families. The weather on the recent Saturday night out was dismal so there was only one other couple in the restaurant. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of ambiance - the staff stayed mostly in the kitchen and they would come out periodically to check on you, but mostly it was hard to flag anyone down - there was also a tv in the far corner in the back, and I don't think there was any music in the background either, so it was a bit weird being almost the only ones there. In any case, the food made up for everything. - Chicken chilli - delicious fragrant pieces of dry-stir fried dark meat. Not as spicy as indicated (mind you, I have a high tolerance for spice) - you can add some of the special hot sauce for an extra kick - delicious with plain steamed jasmine rice. - Chicken momo (fried) and beef momo (steamed) - I just love dumplings. These were excellent. Savoury. The steamed ones were juicy like Chinese soup dumplings. - Nepali veggie thali meal - this was so neat - I loved getting little bits of different things to try. I wish there was more bamboo in the bamboo curry but it was still tasty. The pickled veggies were a great accent. The dry potato curry and steamed/boiled green veggie were fine. The winner was the lentil soup - it was smoky and tasted almost like there was a smoked ham bone in it, despite it being a vegetarian meal. I wonder if I can order that solo... - Beef thenthuk - kind of like a flat rice noodle soup, with strips of beef, daikon-like radish, and some greens in it. Again, another smoky savoury dish, so simple but comforting. They serve it with soy sauce and vinegar but I didn't love the addition of either. My only complaint with this was that the rice noodles really absorbed a lot of the lovely broth - there wasn't much broth to begin with and by the end of the meal there was almost none. When I mentioned this in passing to the person who came by to give my containers to pack up the extras (he seemed like maybe a chef? Was a different person than the lady who had been serving us earlier), he offered to top it up with more broth. So kind of him! Overall it was a reasonably-priced and tasty meal, just lacking in ambiance. I would definitely come back to try more things, or order through Uber Eats!

When the service/staff is genuinely nice and very accommodating; it feels almost 'new/weird; certainly refreshing!' The chili chicken and steamed momo's were EXCELLENT. Amazing find this restaurant in Little India area of Toronto.

Not a fancy place, but this place earns 4 stars for its chicken Johl Momo, which is fantastic. 7 delicious dumplings in a distinctly tangy & flavorful tamarind ginger sauce, for under $10. Kudos also for kindly & helpful service from the chef/owner, who took the time to teach us about the various momo options even though we were only there for a light snack. These are Nepalese/Tibetan dumplings, a uniquely different treat vs. the Chinese versions that most folks are used to. Will be back to try more of these momo in each of the other variants (beef, vegetarian, spicy, fried). Again, not fancy, just a friendly cozy hole in the wall, my kind of digs and a great find.

Lunch special : Non-veg momo and mutton curry thali
    Julie H.

Had a pretty good experience dining here for lunch on a weekend. We haven't tried Nepali/Tibetan food and decided to give it a shot. My friend and I decided to try their lunch special. I chose the Nepali Thai mutton curry for $6.99. The mutton curry and it was delicious, very flavourful. I liked the combination of it such that it came with rice, lentil soup, dry potatoes and veg curry with homemade radish pickles. All the above items tasted great. I was debating on which momo to order. The server recommend the non-veggie option. The shell of the momo was a bit thick for my liking. Overall, I enjoyed my mea

$5.99 (veg) - $6.99 (meat) Nepali Lunch specials on a Saturday! Now I haven't tried Nepali food before so this resto definitely stood out from the others in Little India. Their sign claims that their momos are better than regular dumplings. Now I eat dumplings quite often so that's a big claim. So I had to testify whether this is true. Ordered both lunch specials Thali ($6.99) with mutton curry (option of veg or chicken) - Round platter with a variety of small dishes/soups that tickle your various taste buds - sweet, sour, savoury, bitter. I like it a lot and the curry has a rich unique flavour profile. I would definitely consider coming back for this again! Momo's ($6.99) with chicken (option with veg) - Dumplings filled with chicken and some chives or green onions. This was just okay but the filling wasn't particularly unique and the dumpling wrapper was a little thicker than what I prefer. I still think nothing beats Chinese soup-filled dumplings (Xiao long bao). Overall enjoyed the experience! There weren't any customers when we stepped in at 1pm~ and usually I tend to avoid stepping in an empty restaurant but the sitting area by the window felt private enough that gave us space from the server in overhearing our every convo. The servers were also very friendly and gave us the perfect amount of attention. The lunch specials are totally worth it, go for the thali!

Dissatisfied and disappointment are the two words that come to mind when I think of Karma's Kitchen. I swung by their food truck next to Ryerson University and after placing my order and waiting 10-15 minutes, I received a container of rice and 4 pieces of butter chicken with the curry. The total cost was $11 and it's hands down not worth it. Avoid Karma's Kitchen.

A bite from our experience review - "We took a side of much needed rice to relieve our senses, throughout, and our waitress kept the water and napkins coming. We should note that although our feet got cold by the large single exterior facing window, we were sweating from the hot food." Read more via my profile link!

I ordered from their food truck through Uber Eats. $30 and this is what I got, plus two giant containers of plain rice. Does this look appetizing to anyone ? Looks like someone ate the other half of our portions !!! Never again.

They have a very extensive menu with plenty of options. We ordered steamed chicken momo, chicken curry, mutton thali, sha baley, and kurkure momo. Total after fees and tip was $125. It's a lot of food. We weren't able to finish it all. The steamed momo was very good. That was probably the favorite. However the choice for filling of the momos is limited. You only have chicken or veggie. Seeing order photos of menus from two years ago they used to offer beef Himalayan momos. The chicken curry was very filling! But it made a bit of a mess. Packaging could be improved. The mutton thali was well received. The components were packaged separately. So some assembly is required. The yogurt is sweet. The kurkure momo was very crispy and fresh. But all of the sauces (3 or 4) included were spicy. I would have liked a mild option. It's a little too dry to eat without a sauce. The sha baley is a bit like an empanada. It was very good. They're quite big. I'd say each one was the size of my hand. Very filling. They came in a paper bag. It's pretty tasty food with a good value!

Everything was delicious & freshly made. We really liked the sho-go momo (potato & onion). The deep fried banana is good too. Not too much batter which I liked a lot. I would definitely eat here again. Service: It's a little slow because there are only two people running the restaurant when we visited. They both were doing the cooking & serving. Hubby & I didn't mind because we weren't in a hurry. I think they should have some waitstaff to help them out. Ambiance: It's a clean restaurant. There are prayer flags strung up from the ceiling. The music they play sounded like monks chanting. It's a very relaxed vibe. On a hot summer day it was nice, breezy & cool inside. It felt nice at first but I started getting cold after a while. Their bathrooms are in the basement & we're also clean. The ceilings are a little low in the basement so you have to watch your head. All in all it was an enjoyable lunch. Well today I finally decided to make good on that promise and while I was not blown away it was a positive experience overall. The first thing I noticed about the menu was how many momo options were available. A lot of different choices from your basic chicken/beef/pork to butter chicken momos so lots of options. I ended up just getting a half plate of steamed pork momos along with the chilli chicken. The momos were pretty average in terms of taste even when I used the sauces provided. Perhaps the fried version would have been better but I definitely was underwhelmed with this one. As for the chilli chicken, the flavour was decent and for those who love saucy dishes like me this one is not saucy at all. I asked for a 5-6 on a scale of 10 for spiciness and it definitely had a bit of a kick but nothing too spicy. In terms of taste it was decent however I found the chicken to be a bit on the dry side but not too bad. The folks there were super friendly and overall service was not bad. The food arrived quickly too which was a good thing as I was hungry. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant and it was spaced out nicely so it was comfortable to be in. There were a lot of cabinets with different items in them so it might be interesting to look around while you wait for your food. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
