So I scheduled an appointment to get my eyebrows waxed with Karen. I was always going out of my way just to get my eyebrows done because no girl wants messed up eyebrows and I really liked how my eyebrows were done before but unfortunately the salon was such a commute. I decided to try Karen based on the reviews from yelp and Karen is amazing! She is very friendly and makes you feel very welcomed. The day before my appointment she called to confirm which I thought was very nice because sometimes you need that reminder when your busy. During my waxing session I felt very relaxed because she had some music on and I got to lay down instead of the usual sitting upright. She took her time and we were just talking while she was working. I loved how she asked me how I wanted my eyebrows because a lot of places wont even ask you and they will just start waxing away. My eyebrows are sparse and thin but even after being waxed by Karen they weren't thinner and she did a great job at giving my eyebrows definition. I went home and put my makeup on and I usually use brow powder and after I put the brow powder on...I loved the way my eyebrows looked =) I already booked my next appointment and am thinking of trying a facial. After years of basic brows (even from pricy Anastasia stencil practitioner(s)) I finally found Karma. I stumbled upon Karma after getting my nails done in Pacific. My brows were a mess and I nearly gave up after years of searching. You see threading doesn't work for me because of the way my left brow grows threading takes off half of my brow. Sooo Wax Only. Karen is the best in the business. She is skilled talented, listens to what you're looking for and delivers. She also educates along the way which I think is exceptional. Went in for a second time for a Brazilian. Karen double dipped into the wax!!!!!! For those that get waxes please watch who watches you and make sure they don't double dip. Just think that wax and tongue depressor touches one ladies vagina and then another ladies eye brows. Talk about gross. She corrected her mistake and went to a different wax and apologized said she didn't mean to. Maybe it was a one time thing but I can't help but wonder if it's common practice. But sadly this is a mistake that won't be bringing me back. I need a place that is meticulous in their cleanliness. I'm sad bc the first time was great. Karen & Marcella at Karma are amazing. Karen gave me a facial and eyebrow wax. The facial was very relaxing even with extractions. My skin was glowing for days afterwards and it felt so clean and smooth. I also had Karen wax my eyebrows, she took the time to listen to what I wanted and the end result was fabulous! They look so great and I have my next appointment already booked. Karen is so sweet and you can tell that she really cares about making me feel good, so happy I found her! I am so lucky to have found Marcella as well. I have seen Marcella a few times for my bikini wax. I have always dreaded going in for my bikini wax but ever since I've found Marcella I am no longer nervous about it. She is such a nice person and always makes me feel comfortable. Update: Today I had a facial with Marcella but calling it a facial just doesn't do it justice! Marcella never leaves your side, massaging your arms, head and neck while letting the masque's dry. she also does a little reiki to get your totally blissed out (okay, then she steps out for 5 min. while you are in a trance). Throws in nice extras like a warm compress and warm hand mittens. Total heaven. My skin is clean and fresh but who cares - it was a relaxing hour of heaven! read more

Marcella is fantastic! If you're looking for a brazilian wax that is quick and painless, go here! I've never had a brazilian wax that was this comfortable. I've been to several places to get the hair removed from sensitive areas. No one has done it with so little pain and such great attention to detail. Had an AMAZING facial by Marcella. The moment you walk in you feel the warm, good smelling aroma and relaxing environment. The complimentary cucumber, lemon mint water, tea and cookies, you instantly feel like you're at a spa. Until recently, I had thought I was one of those people blessed with naturally youthful and glowing skin. Just tried this place out with a Groupon deal and really wanted to love it since I like having regular facials and it's local. It was supposed to be a 60 minute facial but I had a similar experience as Vanessa G. My facial was approximately 40 minutes from the moment I walked into the room until she left me to get dressed. There was a significant amount of down time during that 40 minutes. 5 minutes to get undressed and another 5-10 minutes to relax (therapist left the room). However, she was pleasant enough. But after waiting an extra 20 minutes since the lady ahead of me decided to add a couple of waxing services I left incredibly disappointed. Also she did not perform any extractions. read more

I had the best facial ever with Karen! My skin was feeling dull and tired and was in desperate need of some TLC. The boutique is very cute, clean and it is styled really nice. I went in with a mild headache but as soon as I layed down in the dim room, that had a light smell of lavender, I immediately started to relax. I was under steam for a few minutes and Karen came in and got to work. She had her work cut out for her. Let me tell ya'! She did a few different things as far as the facial like a cleaning it, extractions, a peel and finished with microdermabrasion (I am sure I am skipping some things). She massaged my décolleté, my arms and around my neck. My headache had melted away. I left with GLOWING skin! I was so relaxed I wish she could have wheeled me in to another room for a nap. LOL! I can't say enough about Karen and Marcella - they have got it all. They are professional, great at what they do and good people, so you want to give them your business. I've had waxing (eye brow and brazilian) and treatments done by both Karen and Marcella and I really couldn't tell you who is better. They both take their time with eye brow waxing (Usually 30 mins or more) for regular maintenance! My waxing usually lasts up to 4 weeks. I get microdermabrasion every so often and I've gone to all the expensive spas and even cosmetic dermatology offices for this treatment and Karen and Marcella do the BEST job. I'm the type of person that it takes a lot for me to stay with one place or person for treatments/haircuts/upkeep, so for me staying with them for at least 3 years is saying A LOT. read more

I got a groupon for the custom facial. The person on the phone told me that the facial will last at least one hour. I was okay with that although the facials I have had in the past lasted literally about 2 hours. This facial lasted at most 40 minutes. Marcella only extracted my face for about 20 mins it seemed. Overall the facial was very mediocre and short. Im not sure how this place has five stars because like I said the facial wasn't the greatest. I won't be coming back.
