I did some research about the massage therapists in the Chico/Oroville area, and discovered that Cathy specializes in migraine relief. She also suffers from migraines herself, which made for a significantly more effective massage (because she understands firsthand how and where migraine pain can manifest). Cathy is so incredibly friendly and professional, and took "inventory" of my aches and pains prior to both of the massages that I've had with her. She has a healing touch, and a relaxing demeanor, and after all three of my meetings with her I've walked out feeling completely relaxed. Her practice is located within her own home, but this shouldn't be discouraging because the place is clean and inviting, and the environment has never been distracting. Also, her prices are extremely reasonable, even on a college student's budget (!!!). I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to relax and work out their chronic pain.

I go to a lot of these types of places and they are all the same, so far, from what I have seen…read more I'm usually at these various living facilities anywhere from 3:00 to 5 hours and will I like how small this one is with two small houses for probably no more than a dozen residents if that in each house, there are zero engagement. I've been there from morning to afternoon and afternoon to evening and there's no engagement with the staff and the residents Beyond giving them food and very very occasionally bouncing a ball with them. There's no activities, art projects, exercise, just nothing at all. They have a TV on and that is literally it the entire day. The TV usually is at a volume that no one can even hear which is bizarre, since I have perfect hearing and all of the residents probably have to use hearing aids or can't hear it all. What they usually have on would be suitable for grade school children. It's just really strange. Living facilities are immensely expensive and no insurance covers it, so if I was ever going to put a family member in a place like this, they better be engaging the residents, interacting with them at least on an hourly basis, and doing more than just meal prep and getting them to and from the bathroom or their bedrooms. The staff are nice, though the majority are far too young. They seem to hire 18 to maybe 22-year-olds on average which is just strange. I guess cuz they can get away with paying them less? Not really sure.
