They offered to upgrade me to a larger unit that was missing some functionality. I agreed. I had to call for pickup early to avoid additional service charges when a tire came off the rim. It was apparently under inflated. There were indications that the setup was rushed when they couldn't deliver the tractor I reserved, turns out that the box scraper was apparently installed improperly and didn't work well. I paid for a whole week but only had it for 5 days due to no fault of my own.

For an hour or so I had searched online sites for several of those components to no avail. I called Karl's Hardware without great hope (thinking, "How would a smaller, local store compete with the bigs regarding product availability."), and boy was I wrong. They had nearly everything per my "wish list" and beyond that offered better variety (e.g., in lengths of electrical wiring) than the big stores. Even still, while I was indeed amazed with the inventory, that wasn't the best part. It was Aubern that took my initial call and met me in person as I arrived. She very proactively found almost everything with a problem-solving-can-do spirit. She located items quickly, coordinated with other staff to confirm specs, found alternatives for the rare item or two that wasn't in stock, and helped me find my most cost-effective bundle of parts when all was said & done. Karl's is a truly excellent hardware store with great staff and selection!

Inland Stonewerks did an amazing job! They started on a Tuesday and completed the job in six days! We have recently had really bad experiences with contractors so we were leery of all contractors. Mike and Josh did all they said they would do and more. They arrived at 9am to start the demo and I went into my office and closed my door knowing that my husband would watch over the project. I emerged from my office around noon and went into the bathroom to see how it was going. I expected to see a mess all over the place. To my surprise, they had completed all of the demo! I never saw any trash or mess and they hauled everything away. They covered our bedroom furniture and carpet so there would be no mess. We thought we would need to sleep in the guest bedroom throughout the project. No, we were able to sleep in our master that is connected to the bathroom every night. It's the little things that go along way to having a good remodel experience. They were polite, quiet, on time and they took care of our home. They knew exactly what needed to be done so they were efficient in their work. They cleaned up their mess every time they left. It was great to be able to talk about design ideas with them. Their price was fair and there was no hassle about how and when to pay them. We developed a real relationship with them. So much so that when I got sick and my husband had to take me to the emergency room - we left them in our home to finish their work and asked them to lock everything up. They did lock everything, including closing all of the blinds in the house. We have never left anyone in our home to do work. I was actually sad that we wouldn't see them anymore when the project was finished. I recently purchased a gate control keypad from United to control a new access gate I was having constructed. When the company I hired to build and install the gate attempted to program the keypad, there was an internal malfunction that prevented it from functioning as designed. I returned to United and explained the problem to the friendly woman at the front counter. She took the defective keypad into a back room to have the owner, Jonathan examine it. She soon returned and said they would not repair or replace it as more than 10 days had passed since it was sold. I told her I would like to speak with the owner about this knowing that this person was not the decision maker. She went to get Jonathan and came back and said he wouldn't speak with me. So, I patiently waited until closing time, about 30 minutes or so while Jonathan was hiding in a back room. Jonathan was clearly avoiding contact with a customer who had in good faith purchased merchandise from him, but now needed their after-sale assistance. I ended up going to a competitor who rather than selling me a new keypad, took the defective one from United and quickly resolved the malfunction...at no charge to me. This is what United and Jonathan should have done in the first place. Two stars for the friendly and courteous front counter staffer who unfortunately was tasked with assisting a customer's problem while her boss hid in a back room earning zero stars.
