(eggs are referred to as chicken butt nuggets) Our waitress, Haylie was friendly, efficient, and full of just the right amount of sass to make a stranger feel like an old friend. This is not the place to take your prom date, but just the right spot for a thrifty, quick, and delicious breakfast. When in Dickeyville, forget the Grotto and go to Millie's.

Received our coffee and water shortly after seating. We watched several (5-6) groups of 2 + come in and be seated- at tables and some at the bar. We sat for close to 30 minutes before someone came over and asked if we had been helped. Of the groups that came in after us all but 2 of them had been served and left. We were hungry for breakfast and options were limited so we sat it out. We ordered the meals, then waited for 30 minutes for the food. Again, people who ordered after us received their food ahead of ours. There was one waitress who was running like crazy and was very personable. One of them was on their phone and ringing up wrong checks- only reason we know this is that it was very clearly heard when she being talked to about it. One younger employee was just kind of there- not sure what her role was. Needless to say, when we are back in the area this will not be stop. We left at 11:40. Don't believe all the local hype and reviews. Food was decent and priced well but the rest was a disappointment.

I had heard good things about the Saloon from friends for years, but had never quite found the…read moreright time to go. Now I'm glad one of those friends suggested it last night. I was in a mood for a fish fry, so we wound our way up the Lancaster road to the sign pointing to Ellenboro, crossed the narrow bridge and pulled up right in front (a good sign that it wouldn't be too crowded). Up the stairs, through the foyer and into a cheerful, eclectic space that would be tight if there was a crowd, but there were plenty of tables open. They can probably seat around 50, if you include the seats at the bar. Our server came over right away, welcomed us and provided a menu that surprised me in that everything on it looked tempting. Honestly, since I was there for the fish, I only paid attention long enough to determine that this might be a place to bring the spousal unit next time. They had four choices for the fry - cod, catfish, blue gill and flounder (the last two are what we got). You get two sides and a roll with the dinner, one side with a basket. I had steak fries and hush puppies - both were just right. The flounder was good, but I'll give the cod a try next time. My friend's blue gill dinner was generous - looked like 5-6 pieces, while my basket had three good sized pieces (I ordered an extra side). Prices were very reasonable. The food came out fast, the music was low enough that we could hear each other without yelling, and the service was excellent. Honestly, the only minor quibbles were that there was too much food to leave room for dessert, and that it was a bit chilly sitting by the window! Definitely will put this into our rotation!

Too sweet and had more ice than liquid but once the ice watered the drink down, I was able to drink it) Food 1star (I had the stuffed avocado panini. It was one piece of bread cut in half to make a 1/2 sandwich, one tomato and maybe a shred of cheese. Literally... where's the stuffed cheese?? On top was an over ripe avocado that I couldn't even eat because not only was it browning but it tasted bad. ). The sandwhich was a total disappointment $7 for pretty much a piece of bread with a tomato. If their food menu is on par with my experience, I Simply do not recommend the food. I wish I would've taken a picture.

They handled the crowd well and kept up their smiles and patience as they worked through what was a never ending line the entire time we were there - at least an hour! unfortunately, my first two options for breakfast were already sold out at 9 am so I went with the apple butter and bacon panini. Not bad; it was a nice contrast between sweet and salty, but I sure would have liked to try something more substantial. My iced chai with honey foam was gone in an instant. A little on the sweet side but refreshing and a good chai flavor. There is a decent amount of comfortable seating - towards the back is more of that coffee shop vibe you might be looking for.

Lola's Deli - Main St (Elizabeth)…read more "Laugh Often. Love Always." More Than A Deli! Located on US-20, Downtown Elizabeth, IL. We ordered, "Rachel Sandwich," - Turkey with 1000 Island, Sauerkraut and Swiss Cheese on Grilled Marble Rye Bread. The sandwich was crispy textured with perfect balance of fresh ingredients inside the sandwich. We also ordered, "Signature Baked Pickle Soup," - A creamy Dill Pickle Soup topped with homemade Croutons and Swiss Cheese, then baked to perfection. Both dishes were made from scratch and it showed. Fresh ingredients were flavorful and delicious. We had a chance to meet the owners. Both female owners who are friends decided to start this Deli in 2021. With ups and downs they've been able to change the business strategy few times and have persevered. On your way to Stockton or Galena, be sure to stop by to enjoy friendly service, cuisine made from scratch and a retro atmosphere. They offer good seating, tables by front entrance, as well as, additional tables in the next room. If you're looking to play Slots, they offer a good size room with bar area. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

They're only open for breakfast and lunch. Basic looking place but has more room than expected to be honest. It's got a back area with a bar and slots. The bad thing is this place isn't open later because there would be fun times. Has breakfast and lunch menus. It's about $12 to get a sandwich and a side. A lot of the menu is meaty. We each got the Veggie Sub. Comes with avocados, black olives, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, Muenster which I left off, onions, tomatoes, and a vinaigrette, along with choice of a side, which I got with chips. This was pretty good even though the lettuce seemed old. Other menu items include chicken salad and typical deli classics. There's also breakfast with eggs and other stuff. For sure could get something from here again. It's best to go at lunch. They're closed Wednesdays.
