Worst service this far on my nails. I came on Friday Dec 12th back again Sunday December 14th. All rhinestones came off and the design requested was not provided. Came back to get the situation rectified and that didn't happen on top of that I had to fix my toe and the lady had an attitude about it... I visited Karina's salon yesterday & was more than satisfied. Everyone went out of their way to make sure all was well. I also took a friend who has advanced dementia & is non verbal. This was his first time getting a pedicure & wasn't comprehending and hat they wanted him to do. The tech was so patient & understanding which wasn't easy under the circumstances. This is the third I will be on Katrina They are absolutely horrible. Kim is absolutely insane. I'm not understanding how I have attitude. How can she beat me being mad when she messed my nails up for $150 anyone out there in YELP land make me understand. How can she beat me mad? I spent $150 not her. I even have a witness do not go to Katrina Nails. They rule the disrespectful and they don't allow you to get drunk. They get drunk while they're doing your nails everybody drunk so you can't even see if Nails will look decent than not to probably the next day. The young black lady at the front counter...can't recall her name but she appeared to be the manager maybe reached out to me to offer to redo the service and I felt that was outstanding. I've been going here for about a year or so. This is the first place I ever got a dip powder manicure. I've always done acrylic or shellac. I much prefer the dip. My nails have never been in better shape. They do a good job here. I usually have a different person each time, but I've never really had any major complaints about anyone. I prefer my nails short, so there's really nothing much to complain about. Sometimes acrylic or shellac or even gel polishes can turn out a little thick for my taste, and the dip is just thin enough to satisfy me. The nail tech wasn't very chatty, which is ok for me, bc neither am I. Some people want to conversate the whole time; I don't, lol. As for pedicures, the jelly pedi is the only one I've ever done here and it's great. Feels really weird, but good. Only complaint I'd have on the pedi, is they can never cut my ingrowns (the edges of my nails) the way I feel like they need to be. But, if you don't have a problem with ingrown toenails, that wouldn't be a deterrent for you. All in all, I'd recommend a pedi from here. read more

This was by far the worst nail service I've ever received in my entire 30 years on this earth. I'm was visiting Memphis and needed to get my nails done before everything closed down due to the Coronavirus. Well i called before and was told that they weren't taking appointments, only walk ins. So i was prepared to wait about an hour. When i got there around 345 PM, i was very pleased with the setup of the salon. It was very clean and chic! I was only coming for a gel nail polish change which should take about 30 mins w/o an wait. I was told to go wait in the waiting area until a tech became available-cool. After about 45 minutes, what i believe to be one of the assistants came and soaked and wrapped my nails while i was waiting in the waiting area. I was ok with that considering 8 people were at the table waiting for 1 of the 3 technicians to start on their nails. As i continued to wait, one of the women getting serviced had a disagreement with the tech about her color. Who i believe to be owner, Karina, argues with the member about the color the member req compared to the color she actually got. In between arguing with the member, they talked in their foreign language which I'm pretty sure was about her. That woman left the establishment but not before saying to them how rude they were and that they shouldn't assume that people here can't understand their language. Still i waited to be taken to a service table. After about an hour, the assistant came and signaled for me to come to the back where he placed me at a table that had someone else's nails who they previously clipped. No one ever stopped to clear the table. Sitting at that table for another 45 minutes, i then asked how long it would be before someone started on my nails. One tech ignored me, but Karina answered "another 15-20 mins". I said ok and continued to wait. An older tech (also the one who ignored my question) then came to the table very abruptly and aggravated. She began taking my foil off my fingers & began clipping my nails, not even asking if i wanted them cut or how short. I then asked for them to be a bit shorter and oval at the tip. She said that they can't do oval because my nails or short. I said what do you mean? I just don't want them box at the end, i prefer them oval. She then began talking to Karina in their foreign language. After all of that, she ovals my nails just as i asked. The entire times she was doing my nails, she was coughing, not in her elbow but just behind her-not covering her mouth in any way. She kept polishing my nails then wiping it off with her bare finger and doing it over and over again. She didn't clean the ends of my nails by filing them at the end, she just left all the loose ends. OH! BUT IT GETS BETTER!!! Once she was done with my nails, i was looking at them with disappointment. The older tech asked if i like them, i responded yes but said they're a little messy on the tips, i feel like you were rushing. Karina, standing right next to me tending to another customer, looks over and say "honey, you can leave because you've been rude the entire time." I said excuse me??? I've literally sat here for an hour and 45 mins and asked only once how much longer would it be before getting my nails done. How was i being rude.?!" Karina looked and said well what did you want me to do about it. I looked back at her and said i didn't ask YOU to do anything, i only wanted the tech to clean it up-but i will kindly leave. As I'm walking away, Karina says "bitches like that"..i immediately stop in my tracks and say i rather be bitch than a coward-but you got the right bitch today! The older tech then chimes in and calls me a Whore...not a hoe, but a whore which i found to be very funny considering she couldn't even understand English 30 mins ago. But i took my ass right on out the salon at 613PM.I do NOT recommend you spend your money at this establishment. Not only are they under staffed, but Karina, the owner, the one who is supposed to lead her staff and show great customer service was by far the worst of them all!!!! Not only was i going to pay, but was even going to leave a generous tip considering that they were working doing the Coronavirus! I will NEVER go back to nail salon again! Update: 4/5/20: 12 days after service I've decided to do an update on this review.12 days after this service,my nails look a mess! The gel polish is very poor and it already pealing! So I got my nails done for my birthday in October they are cute from a far just not up close where I could see quite bit of flaws on the nails and the polish while and after getting them done. The guy that did my nails he did ok for doing basic French. I got a full set, medium/short, French tip and acrylic and white polish for the tips. The guy who did my nails was nice but I feel like my nails look as if he's still practicing. I had already asked him to fix a few things so the stuff I didn't notice wasn't seen until I got home unfortunately. Nice place employees seem to be respectful & cordial. He said his experience was 2 years so at the same time he needs more practice and that's understandable but I don't really want someone to be practicing on me or rushing to get done with short nails. I rather have a professional you know that knows exactly what they're doing if I'm paying $81 worth of work for a medium/short nails. I'd recommend this place just maybe better concern and care for customers nails throughout the entire process & honesty. He went from $65 to $81 & added 2 colors when I was waiting to pay & I did think that was a bit weird but hey I'm not trippin just wasn't a complete fan of his work & technique. Come here if you wish to be nickeled and dimed to death. I was told that I wouldn't be charged for a soak off if I had my nails done here previously. That was a lie. I've also been to several nail salons and when I declined a manicure, the guy didn't even push my cuticles back. Seriously, you just slap on shellac without doing anything... Also it looks like you have to know somebody who goes here to get any decent service. Went with my friend who has been coming here for years and was treated like a queen. I'm not one to pamper myself, and truly do not like acrylic nails. I find they are just too thick, damage my natural nails and I end up picking at them. Then I found Karina's and when Merry applied my first set it of Gel X nails, I loved them!! But decided to hold off on a review until I had a little more time with them. So at week 3, they were still beautiful but I had so much growth I wanted to change them. This time Kamora worked her magic on my nails, offering wonderful conversation, and took great care to assure my nails looked like I wanted. I could have done without the group of employees loudly discussing sex toys directly behind me. It was very unprofessional considering I was enjoying such a wonderful experience in a very clean salon. I hope management sees this and teaches their employees how to be discreet and professional around paying customers. Karina's is quite a drive for me, but these gel X nails are worth it. VERY expensive for what we got. I had wanted acrylic nails and regular polish pedicure but the nail techs convinced me to do dip because I didn't want to cut my natural nails. Both services were more than expected. $35 for the pedicure and $50 for the dip plus $5 for tips on my broken nails. My friend told me her nail tech told her to do dip instead of acrylic because she wanted to cut her natural nails... seems weird because they charge more for dip. Worst of all my friend was cut really bad. I ended up with a bubble in one nail I'm not happy with but overall ok nails, not $50 nails but ok nails, my friends finger is cut badly... we wont be coming back here at risk of that happening to either of us again. Did a "walk-in" appointment & was seated right away. Very beautiful & clean place. Everyone was wearing their masks. Beautiful salon & excellent customer service. I got exactly what I had asked for. It took roughly over an hour so I'm truly impressed. The quality is absolutely amazing. I paid $95. I put four stars because there wasn't any conversation & I believe they offered beverages, & when Im paying $105 (tip was $10) for a service, regardless if it is just nails, I would like to enjoy myself too. I was really excited to go here after reading reviews and seeing their work on Instagram. I went in for a full set with gel polish. The nail tech working on me didn't talk to me at all other than to ask for the shape and length, I asked for coffin but was told my nails were to short so I got tapered square instead, which is fine. But my nails are uneven on both hands, my middle finger is a lot shorter on my right hand as well. My top coat is extremely streaky and scratched up. The whole time it felt like a rushed job. Getting my nails done is a time for me to feel relaxed and pampered, but instead I left feeling rushed andisappointed in the experience. Update: I decided to come again and give them a second chance, the nail tech, Yazmin I believe did so much better on my nails and they look so much better than they did the first time I got them done. I tried Karina's out after a coworker told me how close they are located to our office. Both experiences were so so and my 1st experience, my shellac manicure was chipped in ONE day! They did not offer any drinks up while I was there as most salons do now. My second experience was similar to another reviewer that said that the nail tech did not say a word the whole time except to ask about color and length. No personality.. This was on my lunch break and I only had an hour but who wants to feel like a company is herding you in and out like cattle and does not give a care how your experience was?! In addition, I got a pale pink shade on my nails and I can still see the previous gray polish remnants showing thru!
