Friendly Grove Resort & Spa for Dogs

Friendly Grove Resort & Spa for Dogs

(49 reviews)

I was a long-time customer of Friendly Grove and trusted them with my dogs for years…read more Unfortunately, that trust was broken after a grooming appointment where one of my doodles came back unable to walk. My husband had to physically carry him out of the vehicle. When I contacted the business, I spoke with Maddy at the front desk, who reassured me that my dog had not sustained an injury while in their care. However, I was not present and was never shown any video footage or documentation to support that claim, which left me with serious concerns about what actually happened. Months later, I received a brief email asking me to update my information in their portal. I responded honestly and shared how unsettled I still felt about the previous incident. Shortly after, a staff member called and said they would be happy to schedule grooming appointments for my dogs since they hadn't been in for a while. However, when I arrived to pick them up, I was told that my dogs were not actually scheduled for grooming but that they "accommodated them anyway." I was then informed that Friendly Grove would no longer be grooming dogs at all. The entire interaction felt incredibly confusing and dismissive, and it came across as though they were simply trying to push us out as customers. They offered a $120 credit for that service and essentially told us to find another groomer. My dogs had been going there for years, and $120 doesn't even cover the cost of a single grooming service. After years of loyalty, the lack of transparency, accountability, and communication was extremely disappointing. I expected far better treatment from a place we trusted with our pets for so long.

I have taken my girl, Tilly, to Friendly Grove many times. She has spent time at the daycare,…read moreovernight stays and she has been groomed at Friendly Grove. I have not been disappointed at all. Friendly Grove is very clean, the staff have always been nice to work with, and Tilly comes home tired when she has a day of play. I would recommend Friendly Grove to anyone looking for a place to leave your canine family member.

This place was crap. My dog was more nervous more than…read moreanything else. He claimed she had so much energy "mental stimulation" Place is a joke. After dealing with other dog trainers in the area I wouldn't recommend this one by far. No positive reinforcement and only taught my dog what the prong collar was. Only negative reinforcement to a dog who was only fearful/ slightly aggressive. My most loving dog did better without a prong collar and lots of praise. Our Vet also didn't recommend this place. Run and go with someone who is more knowledgeable. So many red flags for this place and trust the negative reviews

I've had 2 friends now who have brought their dogs here, both dogs are extremely aggressive. He…read moreteaches owners to use negative reinforcement which is scientifically the LEAST effective training tactic out there. Both dogs are extremely reactive to new people entering the owners home, to the point of fear from guests, and needing to put them away and use straight up animal abuse tactics to "correct" them (taught by the trainer). One friend uses a prong coller (used to cause pain when dogs pull on the leash) in the home to correct them when barking at visitors by pulling up (HARD) on it to cause pain. Another owner was told to CHOKE their dog when aggressive behavior was shown. This dog bit my husband and put him in the hospital, and if this person wasn't a friend we would have wanted the dog to be put down as this dog is EXTREMELY aggressive, and this training hasn't even kind of helped. Unless you want your dog to react and act aggressively to anyone but you, take them to someone who teaches positive reinforcement, which is good for bonding and creating positive interaction, even in situations that cause stress on the dog, you can create a positive experience and make them less aggressive with a different trainer. This guy clearly isn't it, based on the dogs I've met that he has "trained" (one was even trained since she was a puppy, the other started training after aggressive behavior had already started)

I brought her home she ate all of her food and went right back to sleep. That is a great day for a puppy. Since I was starting to look around Top Dog gave me all the information that I needed and even more I could tell that they were caring business. They made it very easy for me I did all my paperwork online faxed in my pet records made an appointment for a trial day and she loved it. We will be going there every Tuesday and Thursday for a while. I bought A package for 20 days so I don't have to worry about payment I just get to drop her off and pick her up. By the way I had an excellent day taking care of so many things you can't do when you have a puppy. Thank you Top Dog I have been going to Top Dog now for over 1 years. Jordon and her staff really go the extra mile. I see some old negative reviews from a long time ago that reflects the previous owner. Jordon is the owner and has the friendliest staff. I use the daycare and boarding and my Lulu know and gets excited the morning she is scheduled for fun Lulu and I love this place.

Very poor communication, no one ever answer's the phone , almost impossible to talk to someone,…read more almost missed my plane because of it . They say they eed the dogs at 7 , when i picked up my dog they told me he already had dinner and i was there at 3 ? I was told i could drop him off at 7 and no one was there so idk how they feed the dogs at 7 , it probably more like 8am and 2pm feeding schedule idk olay whatever, so they go to get my dog so we could go home and he is soaking wet , yeah it was raining i get it but did he have somewhere to get out the rain , I've known my dog for 9 years and he wont go off the porch if its raining lol so there is that , and with the daily reports they say he was friendly and wanted loves and cuddles and petting lmao . For 9 years he dont ever want cuddles or pets , hes a fetch driven dog 24hr a day i highly doubt, he wanna love and cuddles and pets. Anyway the communication, the feeding and their daily reports.\nHave a bad taste for my mouth.I will try somewhere else next time

It was horrendous coughing and coughing up phleg. I had to take them both to an emergency vet clinic because my regular vet had no openings. Yes, they had Kennel cough and they needed two prescriptions each. This vet visit was more than the dogs visit at the kennel. I called the kennel and reported my dogs were sick, and in a voice that didn't sound to sorry, told me we're sorry and no other dogs have been sick. My dogs are in a fenced acre yard and were near no other dogs. This kennel has lost my business.
