Soft serve vanilla and chocolate ice cream twist
Seana A.

I am in town visiting family and friends. We stopped at Karen's today for lunch. I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger and waffle fries. The staff was friendly and willing to check what type of oil they use to fry their food due to one of my food allergies. When the food came out it was fresh and delicious! After eating lunch we had some ice cream. Where I live now does not have soft serve ice cream and a special treat for me! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you stop at Karen's!

Llammalicious ice cream!! Awesome
Kimmy T.

The best ice cream flavors! I got the llammalicious, and it did not disappoint! They said that it has sugar cookie batter base with frosting and i believe chocolate in it. It is very visually appealing and super duper tasty! Excited to try out the other different flavors available!!! I also had the beer battered onion rings, and it was served hot and right out of the fryer. Taste really good. Prices are good too. They have homemade pies available! Plus fruit jams and jellies.

We have been enjoying Smith's pies for a good ten years. When we stopped in to pick up an apple…read morepie for our Thanksgiving dinner we stumbled across what turned out to be an unexpected treat. Next to the register was a small package wrapped in red & white string, labeled "Bonnie's Uncommon Fruitcake." I've been a sucker for trying fruitcakes ever since I had my first slice of Freihofer's Fruitcake over seventy years ago. Here was a locally baked fruitcake with no difficult to pronounce or preservative ingredients. That definitely made it "Uncommon." Pecans, dates, candied fruit (cherries, pineapple), eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. That's it! I thought it tasted delicious. It was not overly sweet, had a good amount of nuts and candied fruit, and there was minimal cake (flour) holding it all together perfectly. I don't know where else you might be able to find this delicious fruitcake, but not to worry. Bonnie Nicolosi provided the following information on the fruitcake for you to contact her. Bonnie@NicolosiGroup.com (518) 588-0304 Hopefully, she distributes her treats to a place near you or can accommodate you in another fashion. Check out my photos for a mouthwatering encouragement!

Schoharie Valley Farms - Chicken salad sandwich

I finally got to try sandwiches here that my workmates have been raving about, and I'm happy to…read morereport that the hype is real! - Apple turkey: this has really grown on me. At first I felt the gooey pink cranberry mayo was a bit funky, but in the presence of crisp Granny Smith apple slices and soft brie cheese, it makes sense. 4/5 - Chicken salad: one of the first things that stood out was the top-notch tomato slices that greeted me, and it got better from there. The chicken is a 'pulled' type although I can't tell how, but all the ingredients, including the multigrain bread, were just as they should be. 4.5/5 - Carrot chocolate chip cookies: these look and taste much like pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to me, which is to say that I like them. I wish they had a stronger carrot flavour, but I know that's a tall order. These are the doughy, soft type which I don't mind at all. 4/5 Parking is aplenty, staff are quick and friendly, and I love a good local family business. I hope they stay open and keeping serving the delicious for many more years.

Our family stopped at Schoharie Valley Farm for lunch before heading out on a fall hike, and it was…read moresuch a great choice! We went on a Sunday with perfect autumn weather, so the place was understandably busy. Even with the crowd, there was plenty of seating, and although we waited around 25 minutes for our food, it was well worth it. We decided to try their 2 for 2 deal, which lets you pair half a sandwich with a side of soup. I had the smoked roast beef sandwich and taco chicken soup both were full of flavor, especially the soup, which had the perfect balance of hearty and spicy. My husband went with the chicken salad sandwich and a side of roasted vegetables soup which were fresh and well seasoned. Of course, we couldn't leave without grabbing a few of their baked goods two carrot cake cupcakes and one chocolate cupcake. All three were moist, rich, and absolutely delicious. From the fresh, high-quality ingredients to the cozy farm setting, everything about our visit was wonderful. A little wait time aside, it was a 10/10 experience and the perfect start to our day outdoors. We're already planning to come back!
