I got the green shisho gimlet which was good but I've had better gimlets. However, the miso wings were absolutely fantastic. There was a generous amount of wings given first & foremost. Second, the sauce was perfect- had a nice little kick to it while still having a strong miso flavor. Third, I have a pet peeve of when the skin is on the chicken wings (not sure why though haha) & these wings were juicy sans-skin, win win.

I really hate writing one star reviews, let a lone yelp reviews in general because I have a belief…read morethat a restaurant's credibility by yelp critics are mostly unjust, especially when it comes from critics who don't even cook as a hobby or a passion, which I do as a hobby. I hate to do this, but because this is by far one of the worst service I got in my life as a foodie and a native NYC. I honestly do not know how this place got a 5 star review, let alone even 13 reviews. The service was so poor tonight that you can tell no one knew what to do. At worst there was this one waiter who worked there who was rude as hell when my party arrived and denied us the seating that was mentioned before. That really pissed me off alot, and have never ever experienced something like that Then the waiter for our table didn't even know the menu. It looked like their whole staff wasn't even there that night and the owners were the one's running it and it was terrible. To be fair, I was told that the hostess tonight that usually works was not that, and some of the staff did try to make up for it, but to me it was a little too late. Shout out to the bartender though, she was really nice and understands hospitality. The food tbh was equivalent to the buffet style sushi rolls, full of rice and not a good ratio between the fish, rice and seaweed. It was overpriced and much better at other locations. I definitely would not recommend spending your money there. I really had hope that this place would be a good sushi spot, given the decor, it looked promising with it's 5 star yelp reviews. Leads me to believe it's fake The lack of customers on a Friday night and lack of respectable service spoke for itself. This place either needs to get it's act together or just sell the damn spot to someone who actually cares about being a good restaurant. Again, I really don't write bad reviews ever, but this really pissed me off tonight and is my first 1 star review. DO NOT GO TO THIS SPOT! WASTE OF MONEY! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Most of all, what I really appreciated with every bite is that I wanted more and that it was so unique compared to anything else that I had ever tried. I thought the tasting menu was a really good deal, but you should also consider booking just a la carte because everything was so solid. You can tell when the chips served alongside the guacamole are so delicious and so unique that the rest of the meal is going to be incredible. I will say that it did seem slightly understaffed. Our waiters did the best they could, but dinner took longer than expected. It was still a great experience for both those on dates and those there with friends!

We got the deconstructed margarita and I really enjoyed it as well as the pina colada cocktail. Service was a bit on the slower side but to be fair, there weren't many people working the tables. "Neighborhood Bar" Is a VERY Loose Description…read more We stopped by Milly's Neighborhood Bar, which despite the name is anything but your typical neighborhood bar. If you're expecting Cheers where everybody knows your name, this is NOT that. Milly's is hella chic and vibey, with a cool DJ booth, a beautiful bar, and creative cocktails. I stuck with Paper Planes for the night, and they were delicious! I initially thought about switching it up and wasn't quite sure what I wanted, but the bartender was super patient, talked through a few options with me, and offered suggestions without rushing me. Ultimately, I decided not to fix what wasn't broken and went right back to my Paper Plane. And can we talk about the PRICE?! $15 for a well-made Paper Plane in Brooklyn, NY?! In this economy?! I pay more than that in Washington, DC, which is wild because I remember when NYC was ALWAYS noticeably more expensive. And the bartender wasn't stingy with the liquor either -- that was a strong pour! The crowd at the beginning of the night was BEAUTIFUL. Mature Black millennials dancing, vibing, and looking good in our chill-but-chic Saturday night fits. The DJ had us moving, everyone was having a good time, and the energy was exactly what I wanted. But as the night got later...gentrification showed her tail. The crowd gradually shifted to a much younger Gen Z crew, and the vibe changed with it. People became noticeably rowdier, pushing and bogarting their way through the crowd to get to the bar without so much as an "excuse me." After being bumped and pushed past one too many times, I had enough and decided that was my cue to call it a night. Despite the late-night crowd shift, I really enjoyed Milly's overall. We danced, laughed, had great drinks, and vibed with our friends. Between the DJ, chic atmosphere, friendly bartender, strong pours, and surprisingly reasonable cocktail prices, I'd definitely come back -- I'd just make it an earlier-in-the-night stop before the crowd starts crowding.
