5 stars for service, dress, selection, and alterations! I picked my dress six months out from my wedding and had about 4 fittings before my big day. The owner of the shop was so sweet, helpful, and patient throughout the entire process- I couldn't have asked for a better rental boutique to go with. My dress turned out absolutely perfect, as well as my bridesmaids dresses, groomsmen tuxedos, father in law's tuxedo, and my mother's dress ,which Kara kindly altered for a small fee. Definitely recommend Kara for all you future brides out there!

BEST!!! After months of searching, I found my dream wedding dress at Kara! Eva helped me the entire process and she is the best!! She soooooo sweet!! I didn't feel uncomfortable stripping naked in front of her like other shops made me feel hehe Pricing is affordable and Eva was so helpful the entire process with all the adjustments I made. I lost more weight than I imagined and 2 days before the wedding, Eva made sure my dress fit like a glove AND IT DID!! I received soooooo many compliments and have only Kara/Eva to thank!! Returning process was smooth and easy. Highly recommend brides if you're looking to rent! LOOK FOR EVA!

I visited Kara Wedding last year around July, 2019 and my wedding is Feb 22, 2020. When you walked into the store, Kim is very helpful and listen to what my needs. Since I know exactly what I want is the A line dress, she showed me couple of choice then we set our heart in the specific one dress. We did the made to order, Kim is very professional helped us to choose the fabric and style, she also give some pointers and good suggestions depends on my body shape. I feel very comfortable working with her and couple months later she called me to do the fittings. The whole process is very smooth and Kim knows exactly what all the brides needs, I highly recommended to every bride if you have not decided on your dress yet. Go to Kim, her price is very very reasonable! Kim also help me to decide the veil and it is stunning! After 3 times fitting, I picked up everything, she also have jewelry for renting out. Everyone commanded about my dress is very pretty and we are very satisfying all her help and time.

This review is my custom wedding dress experience. A friend of mine had stumbled upon this place during one of her wedding dress searches and referred me to Kara. I had called initially to follow up about the email I sent which included a hand-drawn design of my dream dress. We may have had our signals crossed initially as I was not impressed. However, given what I friend had said about this place, I decided to give it another shot and visited in person. Wow was that an eye opener. Kara's place is tiny and if not for Roy's review, I would have totally missed it. Do not let that deter you. Kara is a pro through and through. One look at my design and she knew the type of fabric, silhouette, look and vibe I was going for. We talked about fabrics for what seemed like hours (I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was young and took some classes) and she addressed ALL of my endless lists of concerns from construction to design to fit. She makes every single dress in the shop and has an entire wall filled with wedding dresses and another wall filled with bridesmaid dresses. Kara did not hesitate to put me into a similar dress and begin pinning on some of the design elements so I can see the overall look live and in person. Her professionalism is evident in her willingness to take suggestions and will give her opinion when asked. She is very sweet and went out of her way to reassure me that my dream dress was in the right hands (of a 16-year veteran of custom bridal dresses!). As a sewer myself, I was pleased when I examined the craftsmanship on her gowns. I was sold. Time to talk prices - her price was very reasonable and much less than another custom wedding dress place (in Beverly Hills!). Kara was willing to work with me in terms of price - and offered suggestions on how to reduce the overall cost of the dress without sacrificing quality. I walked out that day without signing on but I knew I would be back - because the prudent thing to do when making large purchases is to mull it over for a day, right? That was Monday. Today, I just signed over a significant portion of my paycheck as required to secure her services. Kara has more than exceeded my requirements, expectations, professionalism, and pocketbook. I feel very confident in her ability to not only produce my dress but also to deliver perfection. An extremely tall order, I know. But I know she can pull it off. Oh and you can rent custom bridesmaid dresses here too! (And, no I don't work for Kara)

Let me first start off by mentioning that I am wedding coordinator. I have seen so many different wedding dresses on so many different brides that I really thought it would be impossible to find my own wedding dress when the time came for me to get married. Previously, we've worked with many other bridal gown rental spots in Koreatown so I really didn't think of trying out Kara Wedding until I stumbled across it on Yelp. When I arrived at the store, I noticed it was a bit smaller and thought I most likely wouldn't be able to find what I was looking for. But I was wrong...after a brief discussion and assessment of my style and appearance, the friendly staff at Kara Wedding pulled about 3 dresses that she thought would be the most flattering on me. Each one I tried on was beautiful! But was choosing a wedding dress supposed to be this easy? I wasn't sure if I was making my decision too abruptly though so I decided I should look around a bit more. The next time I went wedding dress shopping (I took my brutally honest sister along), we stopped by at least 4 other stores just to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. My sister thought the dresses at the other stores looked very cheap and was brutally honest on how unflattering they were on me. I had to agree that none of the other stores even matched the quality of Kara. So we went straight back to Kara and knew we were wasting our time looking any further. When it came time to making my final selection, I realized I really liked the neckline of one of the dresses but liked the overall design of another. Kara suggested that I go with the design I like and completely change the top half of the dress to match the other one I liked. WHAT?! Changing the design on a rental is an option? Not only did they customize the perfect dress for me, but she also found the perfect short dress for my engagement photos and custom designed my bridesmaids dresses with the perfect shade of mint...if you have been looking for mint dresses you know it's tough to find that pale shade of mint that looks good in person AND in photos. But Kara nailed it! My bridesmaids loved their dresses and I got so many compliments on both of my wedding dresses too. My now husband (who is even pickier than I am) absolutely LOVED them! Check out some of the photos I shared on here. Awesome service. Beautiful/quality dresses. Fair pricing. Professional and friendly staff. Five stars all the way!!!!!!!

Amazing experience! The boutique is very clean and pretty. I felt very comfortable and welcomed when I arrived. You do have to make an appointment, but its nice because you have the place to yourself and they didn't make me feel rushed at all. The dress I fell in love with was already being rented on the day of my wedding (it was a mistake that it was out on the floor when I got there), so they called the designer in London and ended up having a brand new version of the same dress flown out by the designer. So even though the dress was rented, it was brand new and felt like mine. Impeccable service. All rental prices include alterations and accessories (veil, jewelry, headpiece, etc.) - I highly recommend Kara Wedding! =)

My gift to Kara for an unforgettable experience.

I can't help but give Kara Wedding 5 stars. I would give them more if I could. I wanted to rent my dresses, so I shopped around Koreatown for about 2 months. I've checked out Tomato, Galleria Wedding, Wedding House, Wedding Time, and a couple others, and to be honest, they all weren't bad. But I decided to go to Kara, because in my opinion, they had the best quality, variety, and most importantly all at an unbeatable price. The store is quite small, but has a comforting atmosphere, and the dresses are top quality. I initially went in to rent 5 dresses (1 ceremony dress, 1 reception dress, and 3 bridesmaid dresses), but ended up renting 8 (1 ceremony dress, 1 reception dress, 3 bridesmaid dresses, and 3 more dresses for my photo shoot) because it all fit in my budget! I seriously didn't get anything close to this offer at any of the other stores. AND, on top of that, my ceremony dress was CUSTOM MADE. I'm 5'1, and very petite. I was having a hard time finding my dream design (I had a small budget but I still dreamed) - and they made it for me! I saw them make it from the ground up, so going in for fitting each appointment was so so exciting! All accessories were also included for each dress! (ie. hair accessories, earrings, belts, bracelets) On top of their wonderful service, I had a destination wedding so they shipped all of my dresses overseas in perfect condition (I didn't have to steam or iron any of my dresses - can you believe that?). I shipped everything in the same box right back after my wedding, because I went on my honeymoon the following day for a week. They received it all back, and I didn't have a single headache with them. I am so thankful for this wonderful experience. I can not thank you enough!

Thank you so much Kara!!! My dress was absolutely beautiful and it photographed lovely. You are a joy to work with, you are such a talented, amazing woman and it was such a pleasure working with you and getting to know you. Much Love and God bless you! Nancy and Troy

I was incredibly nervous about ordering a dress online, but in the time of COVID I didn't have a lot of choice. Originally for my small art deco wedding I fell in love with a Berta gown. I saw a replica of this gown on Kara's website that was much more affordable. They worked with me to take my measurements accurately over Zoom, and were very communicative. They tailored the dress just for me, and it came on time, incredibly well made, with quality materials and exquisite hand beading. My guests all thought it was a work of art and I felt it was much better made than other dresses I had tried on. After I got it I ended up purchasing a Spanx bodysuit as the top was semi transparent; Kara wedding was also willing to sew a liner for me and helped me with other alterations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a dress. I feel like I ended up with something better than the original Berta I admired!

$850 included jewelry, vale, tiara, and alterations! Dress has an $8000 value
Danielle T.

Wonderful place! I went to 4 different spots after this to try on dresses and ended up coming back here for my dress! It was $850 to rent and included my alterations, jewelry, tiara, and vale! I can't wait to wear my dress on my wedding day! Only downfall is I went when it was 96 degrees out so it was staggeringly hot and trying on my dress I was melting , but other then the air co it was an amazing experience, and when I came back on a cooler day it was much better.

It's a quick 45 minute class that gives you the perfect amount of energy to tackle on the day. The use of weights is also something I've never done in a spin class which added to the feeling of a full body workout. I'm definitely looking forward to the next class...that is if I can recover in a week. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk for the next few days. Lol

By this point I felt like I gave it enough chances and it just wasn't for me. And that's ok. *Enter BeSpoke* I chose to try this studio because I work nearby and if you're like me, once I get home from work, I probably am not going to leave again to be active. Sign up was easy (online) as well as check in once you actually got to the studio. I don't know what I'm doing so I asked for him to set up my bike and even to clip in the shoes and the person at the desk that day (sorry I don't remember your name!) was super helpful. Class at any new studio, especially a workout you don't normally do, is intimidating, but I made it through my first class. And then my second class. And then after that I thought my office would enjoy the torture, err I mean cycling, so I ended up booking a private class! OMG TATYANA WAS THE MOST AMAZING HUMAN BEING. She helped me with every detail and made us feel extremely welcome the day of the class. She even had some refreshments for us! So sweet. Ok basically what I'm trying to say is GO TO THIS STUDIO. Even if you don't cardio or spin, give it a shot! All of the instructors I've taken so far have been great, Lynsey and Orlando to name a couple. I feel stronger and more confident only after a few classes. I don't do all the "moves" just what I can and I still have fun and get a great workout. The studio is located at Fig&7th, bottom level near the food court and across from Gold's. They have cubbies for your shoes and lockers in the restroom (this can get crowded for the after work people just FYI). They even have showers and some toiletries. I should mention that shoe rental is included as well as a sweat towel. They also have a water filling station or water for purchase if needed. No excuses! Super grateful to have had a really nice experience here and open up my mind!!! I guess I do cardio now ;)

I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. Sadly, most of the items were damaged, including very simple tasks such as shortening T-shirts -- which were also done poorly. What made the experience worse was the lack of accountability: no apology, no professionalism, and an overall rude attitude from both the tailor and the staff. The focus seemed purely financial, with no respect for the client or the garments. The team appears inexperienced, lacking both the technical skills and the understanding that tailoring and design are crafts that require taste, care, and respectful communication -- not just tools and prices. I strongly do not recommend bringing valuable pieces here for alterations, and I would not advise learning or training with them either. Design is an art, and customer service is part of that art -- unfortunately, both are missing here.

My friend Sylvia talked me into getting fitted for custom suits…read more For context, this is extremely out of character for me. I buy my suits from Banana Republic Factory Outlet and Nordstrom's Rack. They don't fit off the rack because I have a long torso and stubby legs so I usually have to get the pants hemmed at the cleaners. I'd say all in, the most I have spent is a few hundred bucks on a suit. I scoffed at the idea of custom suits because I'm doing just fine off the rack. Yes, the pants are loose in the waist and a smidge tight in the thighs, but I endure this because it's always been my plight. Sylvia convinced me that custom suits would be life-changing. I love and trust my friend Sylvia on most matters -- but this was not one of them. I'm in my fiftieth year and most of my life altering (see what I did there) moments are behind me. Sylvia and I were in LA together speaking at a conference and it just so happens her suit designer is in the LA area. So I acquiesced and went for a fitting at Rocky's Custom Clothes. First of all, I had absolutely no concept of the decisions I would have to make during this fitting. How do you like your collar style? What buttons would you like? How do you prefer the cut of your suit? Jacket length? Jacket style? Pant style? The list goes on but I'm exhausted typing it. After I picked out the foundational basics, we moved on to colors and patterns. Sapna (the designer) brought out books and books of fabrics and I had to choose the suit patterns, liners, and the trim for my shirts. This is not for the faint of heart. I'm pretty decisive but there are thousands of patterns and colors and at one point, I walked away and stress ate 7 toffee candies from the bowl in the shop. Fortunately, Sapna is an expert because she seamlessly (see what I did there) narrowed down my choices to a few so I wasn't overwhelmed. Her picks were perfectly coordinated. I settled on 3 suits, a blazer, and a pair of pants to match the blazer (for a more casual vibe). I flew back to LA to for the final fitting and made sure I told everyone that I was flying to LA for my custom suit fitting because that made me sound like a baller. Or a douchebag. Either way, I literally flew to LA for my custom suit fitting (squeezed in one more for effect.) When I walked into Rocky's, Sapna had one of my suits ready for me. It was like opening a present on Christmas morning because I couldn't recall what patterns we settled on during the original fitting because I was too exhausted from making decisions and eating toffee to take pictures. When I saw my suit, it was instant love. All the fabrics, linings, and trim came together in one glorious garment. I tried it on and it fit like slippery butter. All the years I fit into my suits were replaced by the suits fitting me. There is a big difference in that sentence. It's like fitting in versus belonging. Fitting in requires you to adapt while belonging is being perfectly you. I opened the jacket to see my very own name embroidered in the lining and I almost cried. The only downside to this is that I will probably stop strangers and open my suit coat to show them my name stitched in the lining. If you are on the receiving end of this, please don't press charges. Sylvia was right. Getting custom suits was life-changing -- but not because they fit great or because they are cool. They do and they are. Rather, it's about worthiness. I feel genuinely worthy of wearing a suit that makes me feel like I own the stage of my life. Thank you Sapna and Rocky's.

First off let me tell you that she is very deceiving. She won't answer questions over the phone which pretty much forces you to drive all the way to LA! I drove two Hours to meet with her only for her to tell me that she only speaks with people for free for the first 10 minutes... after that she charges $50 every 30 minutes cause she expects you to know what you want. Which is crazy cause that's the point of her being a pattern maker!!! In addition to that when we spoke on the phone I made it clear that we were designing hoodies and would bring 4 different styles for reference which she agreed to and said that was a good idea. So when we start showing her the hoodies (which over the phone she said are very simple to make) she starts telling us we need 3 different styles because her minimum to order is $500. She then proceeds to say, that it's too complicated and that it's going to be too expensive for us, when we made it clear that money wasn't the issue. She then said I can't do this it's too complicated. But yet she's the one that said hoodies were very easy and her flat rate was $180 so because it was such a small amount she expected us to order 3 once again we said ok. But then SHE decides that it's to expensive for US because each step would have a fee and it was going to get expensive and stands up and walked us straight out of her room and said maybe find someone else. I was so taken back by this and I told her this was very unprofessional of her. I told her I drove two hours for her to do this to us and I was very disappointed How she was behaving. Specially since I went with high expectations because I was referred to her by a friend who is a well know designer so I was excited. I had to call my friend and my friend was so embarrassed and apologized so much and said she would never refer anyone to her again. I would never recommend her and I usually don't do this but she really was just very unprofessional and the way she treated us was just very rude and seemed like she was just not willing to make a pattern for high end street clothing designs and much less for the people bringing it in.
