This is my second time going to see Lauren for upper lid eyeliner. The first time was about 4…read moreyears ago. 1st session went okay, just did a minor lash enhancement- no biggie, but it faded about a year after. Returned to her again 3 years later. I decided to go thicker this time. My next three sessions were more painful than expected and the healing was 10x worse than I remembered. The scabbing and inflammation lasted about 7 days. When talking to her about it, she didn't seem too concerned. I had the same reaction each session. I wasn't sure if I was having a reaction with the pigment or if her technique was way to harsh. She is very hot/cold. She seems to get very irritated easily and has an eerie energy about her. I would not recommend her for eyelids/eyeliner. She may have been doing permanent makeup for a long time but her technique was traumatizing and she is not very knowledgeable about medication. I am a Registered Nurse with ER/TELE/PACU and surgical post-op experience, therefore I have extensive knowledge on wound care. I'm also heavily tattooed and all my tattoos have healed well. This has been a learning experience for me. I highly recommend looking for photos of HEALED tattoos. Most of her portfolio contains fresh tattoos which look great. My eyeliner looked awesome when she was done but final results were terrible. If Yelp allows me to post photos later, I will try to update my results.

On my second follow up appt Julie was 45 minutes late getting there which also really annoyed me. I had Julie give me a more bold top eyeliner to an already existing liner from years ago. It turned out okay, it wasn't exactly what I wanted. While she was doing my liner she then went to my eyebrows and started making some corrections without even asking me first. She basically said "oh sweetheart let me do you a favor". Well no favor was done as I had really dark brown tattoo on my eyebrows and she completely f-ed it up by putting a different color, a lighter brown that was almost peach tint when it healed. So now I have to pencil in my brows to cover up the bullshit color that she put there without even getting my permission to do so. If you research her online, her and her father have been sued for apparently giving someone Hepatitis during the procedure in the past. She claimed to me that she herself makes and sharpens her own needles. Her prices are ridiculous too. She is not the inventor like she claims to be and her ego also rubbed me the wrong way. I find that very hard to believe as I have been getting tattooed for years by others across the USA. I would not recommend her at all.

I was intrigued as the main makeup I wore on a consistent basis was eyeliner. I wasn't sure I would always wear dark brown eyeliner so I told myself I would wait a few years and see if I was still wearing the same color. Sure enough about 7 years later I realized that I was in fact wearing the same color and hated applying it just as much as ever. And honestly just to get it right I had to cake it on and then use zillions of q-tips to erase all of the excess and get a clean line. What a mess. From what I understand the way my eyelashes grow (zig zagging up and down in a major way) it makes sense that eyeliner was difficult to apply. So for Mother's Day in 2007 I treated myself to permanent eyeliner at The Perfect Look. LOVE! After nearly 4 years, it has remained looking awesome but I was ready to go thicker and darker. So I went back to The Perfect Look today to do just that. Julie is an artist, thorough and wants you to look amazing just as much as you want it for yourself. It is not as painful or uncomfortable as you may expect. Friends have asked me "but don't you miss your fresh (no makeup) face?". Uhhh, no - I don't! And actually you get so used to it that seeing yourself with permanent makeup becomes what you view as your fresh face.

They specialize in the Russian manicure technique, and offer quality services that are definitely worth the price. I got my recent set of nails done over Halloween, so that could explain why no one was around when I dropped in that evening. My nail tech Diana was super friendly and nice, and is who I believe did my sister's nails our last visit. She even remembered me, lol! I got the basic Russian manicure, plus removal of previous work, and a gel layer plus nail art. I decided to do a French manicure inspired nail with rounded tips, a light, baby blue base with dark sparkly blue tips. My nails were far from the spookiness of the holiday I got them on, but I've gotten numerous compliments on them all month. But I have to say my most favorite thing about getting my nails done here is the complimentary cappuccino with chocolate. I researched microblading in Austin before I made the decision to have it done. I happened to call Kara while researching and to my surprise she answered the phone, spent 20 minutes with me (did I mention ON THE PHONE?) and answered ALL my questions. Some were pretty goofy questions! She was patient and very informative about the entire process. After speaking with her, I had FINALLY made my microblading decision! I was so excited for my appointment and I was not disappointed. I finally had beautiful, full brows again (the 90's were tough on my brows ) and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome! Thank you Kara for righting what bad waxing (and styles) had wronged so long ago! Don't go anywhere else for your microblading/brow needs! I was also so comfortable with Kara that I trusted Kara with my 13 year old daughter who had a scar on her eyebrow from an accident she had as a baby. As many of you know- kids (girls) can be brutal and ugly. She would be teased about her brow not being "on fleek" (whatever the hell that means) and would always hear comments about her brow scar. My daughter is confident and has great self-esteem- but with starting high school, she asked about Kara "fixing my brow cause yours are awesome, momma!" I struggled with it, but spoke to Kara and once again she answered all my questions and reassured me that we could do a "brow revision" just on the scarred brow. First of all I have been following Kara's work for almost 2 years, and have been soo excited counting down the days to my appointment! I wish I had been in a position to go a lot sooner :) As soon as I arrived the location was beautiful, and the studio smelled like my favourite flower Lilies and looked like it was straight from out of a magazine! Jenny, the studio manager was super sweet and so welcoming and explained in detail about the aftercare process and what to expect. She really helped me to relax, and was a joy to be around. Kara and Jenny both complement each other so well, and it shows! Kara did an AMAZING job on working with my practically non existent brows! The procedure was practically a pain free experience, which I am a total baby so you can trust me on this one! We talked about what we could realistically achieve and what I could do to enhance them further in the future which was extremely informative! as I was totally clueless on other options. I can now wake up with natural looking brows, and not have to worry about them washing off or having to pencil them in before leaving the house. What a relief!! I couldn't be happier with my results from the microblading procedure from Kara. She really knows what she is doing and takes her time measuring and planning before she even begins. I had pretty good brows to start with, however, I had a problem area where my old waxing lady had taken too much off on the inner part of one of my brows for so long that it wasn't growing back anymore. Kara was able to fix the problem with the micorblading in hopes that the stimulation from the procedure will eventually help the hairs grow back. What's great about Kara too is that she really teaches you techniques and attempts to fix problem areas for you so that you can manage your brows on your own. My new brows have really changed the way my entire face looks. People keep telling me how good I am looking these days, but they can't quite figure out what it is that has changed! It seemed like a lot of money to spend on a cosmetic procedure, but it lasts up to 3 years and I am saving so much time daily by not having to mess with my brows hardly at all, beside minor plucking. I am very happy with my results and it didn't hurt AT ALL. If your fear is that it will hurt, trust me that the numbing is so strong you won't feel a thing! I was so nervous to have my brows microbladed because I had read/seen some horror stories from other places around town. However, if you follow Kara's Instagram for any amount of time, you quickly realize you have nothing to be worried about. Put quite simply, she is ultra-professional and an expert in her field. At the appointment, she explained everything at length and talked me through the entire procedure so I was comfortable. She helped me narrow down what was most important to me with my eyebrow shape (things I hadn't even thought about!) and took her time making sure everything was perfect. In all my 38 years, I never thought my brows could look this good. Not to mention, it even helped with my facial symmetry. I am shocked at how perfect they are and have gotten so many compliments from friends and strangers alike. She and Madi are also like a warm hug - so inviting, kind, and welcoming. This isn't just hair and make up - it is an EXPERIENCE. Kara is one of the single most competent, prepared and versatile artists I have worked with for events and shoots. This is my best recommendation for getting your eyebrows shaped. I had mine done a couple months ago and I still get compliments. I have had my eyebrows threaded, plucked, or even waxed and I just can't go back to that since Kara started doing mine. Not to mention, she gave me tutorial on how to continue to maintain my brows in the interim. I needed rescue and within hours I was able to be seen (maybe lucked out) but she fixed it. I swear I was scaring people. She adjusted the black tint and removed all the skin tint that was over my brow, she aligned my arches where they should be again and lifted the brow. There were errors from the other girl but she was able to help it SO much that my hubby smiled this time when I came home lol. Will be a repeat customer here. You know when they pencil the lines and line up the arch etc it's serious and professional. So grateful to look back to normal with nice brows whew

I'm fairly tall so the only thing that I would make this place better is better chairs. I had to scooch way down to get my head on the headrest. It was not the most comfortable. My appt was with Sabi. Her name is on the sign so I knew I was in good hands. I have had eyelash extensions before but this was a little different. At times it was a little uncomfortable but I'm happy with the results. It's only been a day or so so I'm not sure of the lasting effects. I've read 4-6 weeks. We shall see.

I've now been seeing Britt and her team for many years and just love everything about the services they provide. I have now tried getting fills at other places when I was in a hurry to get new lashes and can definitely say not all lash stylists are created equal. The other place gave me such fake looking lashes, and at a higher price. I had to get them removed. I get lots of compliments of my lashes - many people don't even realize they are not mine. I've also taken my daughter in for brow tint and lash lift, which was a super option for a teenager. Brow lamination is also very cool, and this place does a super job with them. I adore Britt and having her do my lashes, but I've booked with her other lash artists as well, and they are equally good. Having several on the team who are have excellent qualifications means you can always get an appointment for a fill and know you will get the same beautiful results. Sometimes, I have to reschedule last minute but can always get back in with At Hello since they offer lots of different time slots and are really good about being able to find a spot for you. Appointments can be handled by text, which I really appreciate. This place specializes in natural looking results with a team of perfectionists that cares very much about their artistry and also that you are pleased with the result.
