BEST experience remodeling ever! From our first meeting with Joe the estimator to the walk thru with Brian, the project manager,&Joe the entire process went smoothly. First we covered the wish list ,then the suggestions we never thought of.Joe provided an extremely detailed estimate. We met at the showroom to pick wood flooring. They had an extensive selection to choose from. The painters were professional and particular. They suggested a glaze for the entranceway that made for a warm entrance. Adam the finish carpenter fabricated & installed a custom wainscoting & trim beyond our expectations. Also the kitchen cabinets were sent out to be repainted while painters painted the trim.Looks brand new. This is the second time Kapura has done remodeling for us.We would recommend them to anyone. Kapura should be your first choice.. read more

Would not recommend renting from this guy. He's dishonest, shady, and will find a way to screw you over, especially when it comes to your security deposit. Document everything and don't expect him to do the right thing. Stay away. read more

Terrible people. They own multiple properties that they do not maintain, nor do they take responsibility for repetitive negligence by their tenants that resulted in thousands of dollars in medical bills for my elderly mother. They could not be bothered to even respond. Absolutely heartless. read more

thought this company was good but turned out horrible! they were paid by insurance company to fix my home and used the cheapesttttt material. it took them almost a year to complete the project. the framing for floors wasn't precise. painting job looked like it was done by the home owner which shows it wasn't professional. I complained and was told that all paint jobs aren't perfect. Insulation was put in but you can't tell the difference in winter. Brand new furnace installed but my house doesn't stay warm or cool in summer. Contractor complained about coming back to finish up unfinished tasks that they forgot and put the blame on the owner keeps calling them out. They were kind and professional dealing with me but the work on floors, paint and crown molding looked like it was done by trainees. I would Never recommend this company! They OVERCHARGE you if your insurance is footing the bill!!!!! read more

I would give 0 stars if possible!Don't use them, you will be sorry! Please just listen and don't use them. Worst contractor in Connecticut. Terrible repairs, terrible time wise; over 3 years and many phone calls just to get them out to my home. The work provided was SO horrible that I have a patio leaking into my house, which they "repaired". How did they repair it? Well they reset the stones by my home and caused another drainage problem for erosion which is now destroying the steps on my patio. Oh those stairs were supposed to be painted, not done! I was supposed to have two coats of paint done on the interior, nope, one coat of below grade paint, and not the name brand they gave me a choice from. The wiring they did in my home is especially terrible! Alarms go off for the wired smoke detectors and now I can't use my microwave without the circuit breaker kicking off! Please don't use them. I literally was put through hell using them. I could tell you more about this contractor Contact me if you have questions! read more

Would not even give them one star. I had a pipe break under the floor in my bathroom. This required me to contact a general contractor to dig through the slab foundation in order to expose the pipe for the plumbers to replace the pipe. When they came out to look at the job, they definitely oversold and ended up under delivering big time. At that time they convinced me that if I kept the plumbing work within their shop they could manage the job much easier and faster than coordinating the work with my plumbers. The job ended up being the whole bathroom needed to be demo'd and full restoration. They originally quoted that the project should take approximately 3 weeks...this included replacing my laminate floors in the hallway and living room as well, which were water damaged from the pipe leak. This was in October 2020. Understand that my shower/bath was not usable because of the broken pipe but I had a fully functional toilet still at that time. Then all the delays started, First it was needing to have their plumbers come out and diagnose what my plumbers had already done, then they had to do asbestos testing on the wall before they started the demo...then there was no contact other than apologies everytime I called my project manager assigned to my project. So now we are into April and with no real work being done. So another call to my project manager, only to find out that he has left the company, along with the estimator that was assigned to my project. A phone call to the owner prompted a visit from him and a new project manager to assess the status of my project. Understand I have now been without a working shower/tub for 6months and this was my only bathroom. So basically the owner made no apologies for the lack of progress but assured me they would start the demo soon. I asked them at that time that if they didn't have the capacity to do the demo and rebuild simultaneously and timely to go our separate ways and I would find someone else because I didn't want them demoing the bathroom which would include pulling the toilet and leaving me without even a toilet and I couldn't live without a working bathroom. He assured me they would have a porta potty put on site and would have the job completed in approx a month. Finally they started the demo. Then, just as I feared....tons of excuses as to the coordinating the scheduling of their plumber to come and replace the broken pipe once they had torn up the foundation and exposed the pipe (remember when they told me using their plumber would be more efficient and timely? Nope). 3 weeks my bathroom stayed in the state of demo...and I was using a porta potty they had placed in my driveway! Then delay after delay of the rebuild, supplies delayed. May: More delays until I give them an ultimatum that if the project is not completed in 3 weeks I would be discussing with my lawyer. That got a little bit more work out of them but then sadly my mother passed away the week after mother's day and of course as I'm making funeral arrangements good ole Kapura although sorry for my loss want to schedule the contractors to come out the day of her funeral. So had to coordinate that at the same time. The day after her services, they were not scheduled to come out but I receive a text from the project manager at 7 a.m. that one of the workers would be out in about a 1/2 hour to do some more work...when I texted back saying I was not prepared to have anyone working in the house today...we needed a day alone. That was met with the response of okay I'll cancel the worker for today but I don't know when I'll be able to get them back out and want to remind you that just 2 weeks ago you were pressuring us to complete the job asap. I couldn't even respond to that heartless text. June: more delays, wrong or undelivered materials and of all things the plumber they couldn't get out timely to hook up my shower (which was fully installed but was missing the finishings/hardware) They basically told me the plumber would not be scheduled until the new sink was delivered because he wasn't going to make 2 separate trips. After my request to get the plumber back out asap to install the hardware on the shower fell on deaf ears...I finally reached out to my own plumber and they came out within 24 hours and got my shower hooked up, hardware installed (that I had to order from them because of course there was no hardware onsite which lead me to believe that Kapura had also neglected to order that as well) and after 8 months I FINALLY had a working shower! No thanks to Kapura though. After more delays, excuses.....the project was finally completed in its entirety 9 1/2 months end of July 2021, from when it started, Oct 2020. 9 months without a bathroom in a home where I only had one bathroom! This was the worst nightmare experience I have ever gone through!!! So my advice to everyone, steer clear of these guys. Just awful! read more

The Avon Land Trust has a collapsed cabin on one of our properties that was ugly and represented a potential safety hazard. We contacted Kapura to perform the demolition work, and remove the cabin debris and fill the crawl space level with the surrounding grounds, but leave the river stone chimney standing. We also asked them to give us a price on spreading a layer of wood chips so that we could make a nice picnic area. Dean Kapura met with us on site, and is good people. The price they gave us was amazingly reasonable, and the work they performed was exemplary! We had a civil engineer join our board recently and when he visited the site he was very impressed. We have also had neighbors comment to us how nice it looks now. We are hoping to hire Kapura for further work, and highly recommend them. They turned a pigs ear into a wild purse for us, at a great price. We HIGHLY recommend them! read more

They don't even deserve one star!!! From the beginning of this fiasco it went from bad to worse. They did such a shoddy job and didn't complete many things that were on the list. They did however send some workers that drove on my lawn, left nails and garbage all over my driveway and worked a project that wasn't even a part of the job. That particular part ran up over $8000.00 worth of work that they had to absorb. Because of that they have filed a civil suit against me saying I owe them over $9000.00 AND they want me to pay their lawyers fees. Please don't do business with these people---they are crooks and horrible to deal with!! read more

This is my experience dealing with Bill Kapura General Contractors. At first the business relationship looked promising but deteriorated after the first payment had changed hands. Overall very slow to respond, not very upfront or honest, and they do not listen to what you are looking for in the project. I had explained what I was looking for and they oversold and under delivered. I was continuously following up after weeks of no contact. They were never able to provide me what they said they would when they said they would. I'm still chasing down items that I am owed despite having paid in full for the drawings. I would not recommend using this contractor for any type of project. I should have read these reviews before engaging their services. Hopefully someone will find this review helpful when trying to determine a contractor to work on their project. September 26th 2016 - Contacted Kapura through Contractor Connection about a home renovation. September 30th 2016 - Set up a meeting - Contractor was late to show up. I was told that to get an accurate quote, I would need to have plans drawn. October 21st 2016 - Agreed to move forward with contracting an architect through Kapura for the drawings. I was told that I would own the drawings and it would be about 3-4 weeks to complete. $6250 for the plans and I would receive an electronic and hard copy of the plans. November 11th 2016 - I received floor plan options, decided on which to proceed with for the drawings. December 16th 2016 - Received the first estimate exceeding the project budget by $28K. The estimate needed to be amended because it exceeded the project budget, had missing items, and was estimating for work and material in rooms that were not being renovated. January 19th 2017 - I went to meet with contractor to discuss the estimate, get the total cost down, cut down items that were not needed, and address items that were missing. I drove up from 2.5 hours for a 1000am meeting. Contractor didn't end up meeting with me until after 1pm. We were able to remove roughly 30k from the estimate. February 20th 2017 - Received the revised estimate of where only about $8k had been removed. The estimate now had additional items the contractor had forgotten to add in the first estimate. March 15th 2017 - I still had not received the plans. April 5th 2017 - Received a new estimate which was now $35k over the project budget with new items including a project management charge on top of overhead and profit. April 10th 2017 - The estimate exceeded the discussed budget by over 24%. I stated that I would just like to take the plans. I was told they can be picked up at my convenience. April 19th 2017 - Contractor said they would get back to me to see what could be modified to fit the project budget. Still waiting to hear back...... May 16th 2017 - Sent someone to the office to pick up the plans. They weren't there, they were never picked up. They had to be dropped off in the afternoon. Did not receive the electronic copy I was promised. May 19th 2017 - Called the office inquiring about the location of the electronic copy. Still waiting for a call back...... May 25th 2017 - Had to reach out the contracted architect to inquire about the electronic copies. At this time he informed me that I do not own the plans and I would need to enter into contract with him for an additional fee. I still have not received an email or a call back about the plans or the estimate. read more

This company came through for me in June when my portable air conditioner leaked in my living room. They were very responsive to my needs and concerns and professional. I would highly recommend them! read more

This is the worse contractor I have ever dealt with professionally or personally. Our basement flooded. We were quoted $2500 barring unforeseen circumstances. We were told the cost would be cheaper if we helped remove loose items from the basement. We removed ALL loose items from the basement while Bill Kapura's ServiceMaster dealt with the wet stuff. They installed a huge dehumidifier that failed to work, along with many other blowers and dehumidifiers. We informed them that the dehumidifier didn't work - two days later a guy comes to fix the dehumidifier and in the process of "fixing" it resoaks a part of the carpet. Still, the job was done within a week. They broke a connector to a U-shaped desk moving it. We fixed the desk since it seemed like it was going to be big deal for them to fix it and we needed to keep the price down. Didn't matter because the final invoice was a line item bill for $4791.57. No explanation. We've left three messages - no helpful response (a guy called us to let us know they got our messages, sorry, he can't help, but someone will be calling). We are forwarding our claim to the BBB, the Department of Consumer Protection and the attorney general under the misrepresentation of pricing clause of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act. If you have to use these guys, then keep track of when they come, when they go, what they did, and what equipment was used. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! read more
