My family and I have been going to them for the last 10 years..... And we bought about five cars from them no problems if I need fixing that will fix it mechanics that work there are very good. Five stars for me.

I was told the whole exhaust system was rotted out. And, it won't pass inspection. Which is this month. Now I know why they don't have the cats inspected before you drive sway, they know they will never pass inspection. I brought the car back this morning an hour and half ride one way to get it fixed or get another one. Valencia said well I can't trade you for another car. I said why? She said and, I quote"because yours has issues". I said yes but it is the same issue you sold it to me with. Then she said the exhaust doesn't need to be replaced it just has a leak. We can fix it for you today for $189.00. I said I'm not paying for that. She said well do you think I'm going to pay for it? Upon purchasing the car I asked about the fumes and fumes and lound muffler they said it was BC it was sitting and was wet. I stopped at Mides mufflers on my way home and yes Honda was correct the whole exhaust system is rotted out, not rusted Rotted. Liears & manipulatours. Its a family owned business of con-artist & thieves. Whatever you do NEVER EVER BUY A CAR HERE EVER!!!!!!! You will be sorry. I have contacted my attorney. I'm not going to take this lying down. I'm going to report them to the BBB. And, the state of NJ Vehicles Commision Dept. When I said i wanted another car on the lot that was in better shape they said I would have to down 3,100.00 up front plus the lemon I was trying to give back. If I'm not mistaken I think extortion is against the law. Not reputable people at all. Very sorry I ever walked in their door. BEWARE!!!!!!

Walk on by! Unless you're a mechanic and scrutinize the car, keep walking. This was my first used…read morecar and this experience soured me on all used car dealers (sorry to the 1 or 2 that are legitimate). I was taken advantage of horribly. They wouldn't let me have the car checked by a mechanic - I should have walked then but, like I said, I was a naive first time used car buyer. After I bought a car and had it checked out, I was told the car should never have been sold and that it was unsafe. It had too many problems to list here. Plus the whole underneath of the car was rusted thru and could fall apart anytime [like it had been in a flood]. Shame on them!

The car was not inspected, but I took it for a test drive, and yes...it seemed to drive well. The problems started after taking the car from Lakewood, NJ. to my home in PA. I took the car to a Lexus dealer to get inspected. The manager and the mechanic both informed me that there was a leak in the gas tank, there was very severe rust on the underside of the vehicle (that it it looked like they had the car stored in a weeded, wet area! EXACT WORDS!!!) and that there was between $5 and $7 K worth of work to pass inspection. They told me that, technically...the car was extremely unsafe to drive and could have caught fire. Luckily, I got a second opinion from my local mechanic. He told me that there was not as much damage as the dealer had stated. $1900 later (and a very kind estimate) the car passed inspection. It needed a new gas tank, breaks and an oxygen sensor. Literally just 2 weeks later, the check engine light comes back on blinking. The ignition coil and another $200 to my local mechanic. He replaced the one ignition coil, but now I'm afraid another may go bad. Now, just a week later...the check engine light is back on. So, to make a long story short...I will be taking about a $3000 loss on the vehicle and trading it in for a Toyota. Through this whole ordeal, I vow NEVER to buy from a "mom and pop" dealer EVER again!

Larson Ford - Chris Probanski and Chris Mercer of Larson Ford of Lakewood NJ incompetent of maintenance

Larson Ford

(23 reviews)

Never bought here, this is a review of the service dept…read more I had to have some work done on my 12 year old truck, and ended up getting towed to Larson Ford on route 88. It was midday on a Friday, they were busy, so Mitch told me he would call me later with an estimate. Later that same day, he called and said it would be "a few days and about $900" to repair my truck. It turned out taking a week to repair, and costing $1335, which is about %50 over the estimate, in time as well as cost. You can imagine how upset I was. After I got home, I posted a ridiculously negative review here on Yelp. It was a knee jerk reaction, and quite immature now that I look back on it. But understand that I was very angry with the whole experience. What a difference a day makes. The next business day after I departed the dealer, Lewis (Louis?) called to discuss my dissatisfaction (their cashier had asked about my satisfaction, to which I responded negatively). He listened to my concerns and could not have been nicer in reacting to them. He understood how I felt and in the end he offered a $350 refund. That surprised me, a lot. Most places might say "we understand but we can't do anything for you." Not Larson Ford. They genuinely care about customer experience and satisfaction and I appreciate that. Their rep turned a terrible experience into one that was much more tolerable. In the future if I need service again, or I am considering a purchase, I won't hesitate to visit Larson Ford. Also, I want to apologize for my harsh language in my previous review. That was posted in the heat of the moment, and was moderately embarrassing after rereading it. Glad this got resolved the way it did.

Chris Probanski & Chris Mercer are incompetent…read more Chris Mercer seems to have dementia, and never seems to be able to recall anything he spews out. He specifically repeatedly gaslights any situation, and essentially made a brand new FoundOnRoadDead car that was brought in for routine maintenance... a lemon. Then blameshifts not being able to communicate like a grown professional -- onto Alice, or part corporations that you "deal with".. These people have never even maintained the brake plates.. they look dryer and more rusty than the Sahara's genitalia. Are your mechanics even qualified to service vehicles? How many Chris' does it take to lemon a brand new ford? Two. Probanski & Mercer. Louis, I'd appreciate if you return my call, as this whole situation is being documented for quality & assurance purposes, after 4 weeks & this Mercer bimbo telling someone to drive a lemon with an axel he busted.. unreal. update; louis pagano utilizes his personal aol email for professional interactions, risking the data of consumers. He talks in the same circles that Mercer & Probansky do, blaming part companies for "defective parts", instead of owning the fact that his maintenance crew is defective.
