I do wish they had a screen like how they do at the DMV though. I had a hard time hearing what number was being called due to the constant chatter. I spent about 1.5 hours here. Almost al of the time was just waiting. The actual name change took 5 minutes. My new ss card came about a week and a half later.

This spacious resort is nestled safely among the rolling landscape outside Village proper. My time here was limited to 6 hrs...a mere quarter of a shift. But my first impression when walking inside the living quarters was that it's hella clean. Pros: Kitchen is ginormous, bunks are private, tv can be seen from space. Cons: workout room (only dirty room in the station), lots of radio traffic, strobe in workout room goes off constantly. I can tell these firefighters take their comforts seriously and, for that, I tip my cap. If there's room for improvement, it's the kitchen table and chairs. No wheels, hard plastic...no bueno. Table is super boring & should be replaced by one made by FDC. A station with so many fine things shouldn't accept this atrocity. I'm not planning any future trips to other fire stations. However, if I have to go somewhere, this seems like a good place to land.

There was ample parking, the sign-in process was simple, the waiting area wasn't so bad, and the wait itself didn't take too long. I was in and out in less than 1 hour. The only downside was that I was chastised for having my phone to my ear. You can do that if you're listening to voicemail, which I was. You're not allowed to talk on the phone. I have mixed feelings about that, but I know a lot of really rude people when it comes to phone call etiquette, so I get it. I only needed a copy of my card and it was pretty straightforward. I'm hoping I won't need to come in again anytime soon. But if I do, I should know what to expect. They don't really go above and beyond, but they get things done.

This will definitely help with my desire to keep current on technologies needed for my job. I love our library but I sometime get jealous when I visit other libraries and see what technologies and other accoutrements they have that I wish our library had. Unfortunately, the masses of our community can't spare a weekly coffee run for that to happen so we make do with what we have. The staff is always helpful and one usually get you what they need within a few days if the library itself does not carry it. And, like one of the other reviewers mentioned, they always have fun activities planned to encourage both kids and adults to visit the library more often. Keep up the good work!
