The service is always pleasant, and the wait time is non-existent. It's a very pretty place inside, and they always have interesting looking coffee specials. Y'all HAVE to try the frosted bagel bites, they're to die for.

Of course it's also open for lunch. There's coffee to go with bagels along with other kinds of sandwiches. Bagels are the main things of course. It has coffee with tons of syrups to choose from. The bagels themselves actually may be kind of an afterthought to be honest. Anyway these are still good. There's a lot of things on the menu. It's about $5 to get a latte. They have a few non dairy milks. It's about $8 for one of the bagel sandwiches, which is actually a good amount of food. There's quite a few combinations you can make. I got the Vegetable Sandwich, which comes on a choice of bagel. This includes cucumbers, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Get a combo with a drink and chips. They also have tons of cream cheeses, and plenty of other toppings so you can get a pretty hearty breakfast or a lunch. Good place, but it has kind of limited hours. It's only open for breakfast and lunch. There's plenty of things for meat eaters, as well as vegans and vegetarians.

I transferred in so I only take classes at Barsema Hall. If you are looking to have professors who…read morespeak fluent English, do not take up a Finance or Business degree at NIU. Positives: Professor Doughty speaks fluent English and is a great professor. He teaches Business and has actually ran and sold his own highly successful business. I have learned more about public speaking and people skills in his class than my actual public speaking classes. Professor Benning speaks fluent English and is a great professor. He is enthusiastic and knows how to encourage class participation without making it feel forced. Highly engaging teaching style. Professor Kuhn is pretty funny and brings in some cool guest speakers. Field trips. The school goes up to Chicago for field trips, it's pretty nice. Bloomberg Terminal access. The school has access to the Bloomberg Terminal and opens up access to students which is pretty cool since otherwise I would have to pay about $32,000 per year for one of my own. There are a few impressive alumni (Robert Zemeckis, Dennis Barsema, The Nostalgia Critic, a handful of athletes and state legislators). The Huskies are also actually pretty good at football. Negatives: About half of the Finance/Business professors speak very poor English, and because most of the classes involve numbers, you're on your own. You will need a Chegg subscription. Main road to get to the campus has been blocked off for over a year now. Crime. Muggings, shootings, and rape. The closest gas station has a thick wall of bulletproof glass in front of the cash register. I don't want to act like it's as bad as Rockford or Chicago or something because nobody has given me any trouble but just be warned. Your typical DEI crap. Tampons in the men's bathroom. All College of Business students are forced to attend at least one DEI event before graduating. Here's an example of the title of one of these such events: "Conversations of the Heart: Valentine's Day Queered". Parents - keep in mind this is the kind of thing you're paying $30,000/year for. You are not guaranteed a decent job after all the money you pay. I'd say NIU sucks, but all of this stuff is unfortunately par for the course for higher education in the US at the moment.

Unprofessional and Condescending Experience - Avoid Vishal CPA Prep, LLC…read more I usually don't write reviews, but this experience was so unpleasant that I feel compelled to warn others. I had an interaction with one of Vishal CPA Prep's consultants, Wensi, and it left me with an awful feeling. 1 Ignored My Exam Needs - I made it very clear that I was preparing for REG and had already registered for it. Despite this, Wensi repeatedly pushed me to take FAR classes. Even after I corrected her multiple times, she completely ignored my actual needs and continued her scripted pitch. 2 Talked Over Me and Was Dismissive - On our phone call, I tried to provide feedback and express my concerns, but she cut me off and talked over me the entire time. At one point, she even told me to be quiet and let her finish--which was completely unprofessional and shocking coming from someone in a customer-facing role. 3 Rude and Condescending Response - When I politely declined their expensive course and mentioned I already have Becker access, Wensi sent this passive-aggressive message: "No worries, Rohith. When you're ready to get serious about passing your exam and stop wandering around, let us know--we'll be here to help you secure that passing grade " Excuse me? This is not how you talk to a prospective customer. Suggesting that I'm not serious about my CPA exam just because I didn't buy their service is both insulting and unprofessional. Final Thoughts This interaction made me uncomfortable and disrespected. If this is how they treat students before they even sign up, I can only imagine what the experience would be like after paying them. There are far better CPA prep services that treat students with respect and genuinely want to help, rather than just making a sale.
